Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Update 6/8/07: Quick fix thanks to Hexameter! This fixes a problem where the sound would intermittently fail to play amongst other things. Just re-download the carousel itself, the _sound file is unchanged.

Functionally, this behaves the same way as the carousel in the Carnival Set, with two key differences thanks to the extremely talented Hexameter:

(1) It looks way, way better!
(2) It plays music while it spins!

Both of these changes were made by Hexameter, and so all due credit for these changes should go to him, but he was so generous that he let me post it here. Any technical, behavioral or compatibility issues are entirely my problem though, and should be posted in this thread or sent to me by PM.

Additional Credits:
Hexameter, naturally, for the beautiful mesh and the delightful music! And of course the usual crowd - Quaxi, Peter Jones, Delphy, and the ranchies, mods and members of MTS2.

Oh, Echo this is beautiful! Thank you so much!

Mr Goodbyte I'm sure Delphy will look at the problem when he comes on line. It probably has to do with getting the new servers up and running. Patience please.

Anybody? No? Dust. Anybody? No? Dust. Anybody? No? Dust. Anybody? No? Dust. It's actually very low in fat. You can have as much dust as you like.

I know this is an odd question, but is there any way to turn off the music? Music bogs my game down and causes lag.

Aside from that, this is really fun. I love how the sims wave while they're riding it!

Without the base object this mesh were nothing than a brake for the game!!
I always wanted a carousel for my game but I wasn't able to make it as a functional object. So far to the "extremely talented Hexameter"! But, thanks for the compliment!
Therefore, Echo, I'm proud that you accepted my work to be a small part of your great set. And you deserve the credits for your part of the work on this one, too.
Thank you!!
Of course thank you to all those who like it!
PS. Concerning the music:
It shouldn't cause problems to use the object without the music file. So, if you don't install it or delete it, you will stop the music.

I REALLY want this, but when I downloaded it & WinZIP went to open it, it came up "unexpected end of archive" & then it also said "archive is in unknown format or damaged". Is this because of something I did? And can I fix it so that I can have this gorgeous carousel in my game?

Looks great, I have the carnival set, this will be a great addition. I shouldn't have a problem keeping the old Merry-go-around in the game right? I'm in a different neighborhood right now and would like to test this one, and keep the old one too. I didn't see it written anywhere but does the sound file go into the download folder also? Thanks.
