This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

Alright, so I know I said I wouldn't.. But I went ahead and did it anyways. Here are the wings.. for cats!

*Important Info*

- This is a Default Replacement. It overrides the Body Fur Accessory! I have left the body fur intact, (meaning that the original body fur accessory will still show up), however, by using these wings you will no longer be able to create regular furry cats in CAS. Also, you will be unable to create non-furry winged cats.

- It is very important that you delete the Accessory.cache and Groups.cache files located in your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 Directory before you add these wings to your Downloads folder, and also after you remove them. If you do not delete these files, there is a possibility that the meshes will explode in-game. If you do forget, and come accross an exploded mesh or error in-game, simply Exit, delete the cache files, and everything should be fixed once you re-enter the game.

- Any cats already in-game will not be affected, unless you change their appearance using a mirror. Likewise, any cats you have given wings will keep their wings unless updated via the mirror, even after you remove the default replacement package from your Downloads folder.

*How To Use*

These wings work in the exact same way as the body fur accessory. Simply create a cat in CAS, select the Fur Accessory option, and then click the icon of the body fur accessory. Your kitty should then sprout a pair of wings.

Like all fur accessories, these wings will take on whatever color you have selected as your cat's Base Color. So your kitty's wings can be any color that is available to you in-game. And, like all fur accessories, the wings can be passed down to your kitty's offspring.

Anyways, I've created these for those of you who really want winged kitties, (as I am unable at this point to convert them to non-defaults). But, as I mentioned previously, you can remove the package from your Downloads folder at any time, (as long as you remember to delete your cache files afterwards, just as a precaution), and any winged kitties you have in-game will remain.

So, I hope you enjoy!

That is soo cool! I just have a question though, I was wondering were you got that black, purple, and orange cat and the one that looks like a tiger. Thanks!

Ahhh, super awesome <3 great job :D
About non defaults though - isn't it possible to mod a collar? (I'm not exactly all that knowledgeable about these things, so sorry if it sounds ridiculous! =) )

Stardazzle - All the cats were made by me in CAS

fala1385 - Yes, modding a collar is a definate possibility, (and something I've been looking into!) Collars are a little bit more complicated, though

tish85 - You only need to delete the cache files when adding/removing the wings packages, (either dog or cat) from your downloads folder. Deleting the cache files is just a precaution to ensure that the game will properly accept the new default; the files will regenerate themselves once the game starts up. Both the cat wings and the dog wings can be used at the same time; they will not conflict with each other.

And to everyone else, thank you for the comments! I'm glad you guys like them!

im so glad you decided to make this for my kitties!
I like kitties so much more than dogs. I swear I think i only have 1 dog in my whole neighborhood.

She stood in the rain
And gazed at the golden grass
Longed for those memories
She knew could never last

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you now my whole family can have wings, can't wait to use these. Thanks for all the hard work and time that you put into making these and your dogs wings. You Rock.
Take care and Happy Simming.

Ooooh. I'm very tempted to add these now, although I'm not sure about the look of the wings (but I can imagine how hard it must be to make something that has to pick up the colors in-game instead of having each texture made by hand). At the very least, I should look at them in game!

I really hope someone cracks the secret of creating non-replacement custom fur accessories soon. This is just the beginning of all sorts of things that could be possible once that happens. ^_^

You are my hero! And also, my sim doggies hero...the sim kitties really were planning a rampage out of jealousy! Thanks for putting the effort into this. It sounds like it was a tough thing to figure out.
