This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Update: Small edits to the textures, fixed the 'dancing around' in Bodyshop that was caused by the textures not being in EXACTLY the same place (most were just a pixel off, one was 2!) and added gray edging to the white stripes to make it look a bit better. Not worth redownloading unless you are obsessive (like me!) - March 8, 2008

I can't tell you how much I've hated those silly two color swimsuits that the guys have! I've never seen anything like them in real life, not even on Barbies (low blow, I know, but its true). To remedy this situation, I've made you Default Replacements. Don't worry, they still look Maxis-y, I've been trying for that with all my replacements as to make them widely acceptable by all. (Update! Finished the other ages/genders! Kid's Suits and Women's Suits! Also, SERIOUSLY go check out this thread, I've made these suits available for elders, and the speedos available for elders, teens, and kids!)

Six brand-new swimtrunks for your Teen and Adult Men! The silly two color style has been done away with and have been replaced with a snazzy new style, two-shades of the same color edged with white stripes! Brilliant, I know! Those odd horizontal bars of color have been turned on their sides and made to accentuate the clean firm lines of your sim's legs, something not many guys think about, but the ladies see it instinctively. See bottom of post for pictures of all the colors.

For those older gents, never fear! We have some help for you too! Tired of that one color in two different 'patterns'? Well, that tiki-shorts just got a bit redder, and the check-pattern did a bit more than a 180 and became BLUE!

These are DEFAULT REPLACEMENTS, meaning, when you place them in your downloads folder, they will act as Maxis clothing, completely replacing their counterparts. This includes sims currently wearing them. If you want to remove mine and return to the maxis versions, just delete my package from your downloads folder. Btw, if you want your clothing catalog images to reflect these changes, delete your thumbnails folder: C:\Documents and Settings\(yourname)\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Thumbnails. The game will generate new ones. If you want not default versions, check out this thread of mine.

If that STILL isn't enough you say, well, there is a THIRD package for you my friends! This is a special, extra-sneaky package, come closer, we have to whisper. If, and I do mean if you have the University swim trunks pictured below for your YA, we can sneak them out of the College CAS, and make them available to the general public! If you choose to do take this course of action, make sure you read this next bit carefully, this package does NOT go in your downloads folder.

Place them directly, or make a subfolder, in the following location and put the files there instead of in your Downloads folder. C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins (or whichever is your highest expansion pack folder).

You can put these files in your Downloads folder, but if you do, the delete button will be enabled in CAS and Body Shop. Do NOT delete them in CAS or Body Shop. Doing so may corrupt some of your game files. To remove the outfits from your Swimwear bin, delete the package file from where you installed them.

BTW, I've got more default replacements, check them out here !

Enjoy!
-Phaenoh

Reminder: Two of these packages go in your Downloads folder, ONE DOES NOT! Read Instructions carefully!

Additional Credits:
Credits to Kalimos and Arthur (my models) for again appearing in my photoshoots. No credits to Striker (my teen model) who was supposed to make an appearance as well. When he didn't show up on set, I went to his trailer and he mumbled something that sounded like 'pimple' and wouldn't even open the door. Teenagers!

Mine all had the red-orange ones. I liked those pretty colors. Now, I'll use them all again. Thats the way it should be. Why have something in your catalog if you don't use it? That logic applies to your CC why should it not apply to your Standard clothes?

Now I do! I also hated that one, but I tend to forget about all the NPC outfits when I'm looking for my next project. Thanks for reminding me!

I do entertain requests. Completing them is dependent on current time, skills, and my own opinions. Doesn't hurt to ask though!

Like Maxis ? In tones maybe but I prefer a lot your adult version than Maxis one !!! So even if I don't like alter too much the game (and use replacement) this time it's sure I will use your replacement set.
Many thanks Phaenoh !

Oh, wonderful! I've long been looking for a way to get rid of the ugly maxis inclusions for a lot of things, especially these swim trunks. Replacing them is just as good if not better. They were seriously UGLY. Thankyou!

I was a LITTLE worried about the extra bonus! I made my own swimsuit replacements (not global) but I like these.

The bonus was the YA suits being enabled for regular Adults. Glad you like them though!

I loved your replacement - the Maxis' trunks are too ugly, and yours are more than welcome!I'm looking right now your other default replacements, and you can count on my "thanks" in many (if not all)of them! And by the way, are you considering the possibility of doing default replacements of Maxis' hairdoes?Or does someone knows if it was ever done? Because here we have a lot of excellent hair meshes and retexturings and alpha-editings, and the more realistic stuff many times clashes with the Maxis-stuff.And there are many nice hair styles by Maxis, they just need some retexturing (and there are some...simply horrible), but as CC it wouldn't appear in NPC's...

Anyways, a lot of thanks, girl, and congratulations for the nomination to the The Ancients' Award!

Thanks for the suggestion. Though I think I've played with hair a grand total of three times. NEVER with any success. It prolly can be done, but I don't think I'm the creator for you. All of my replacements still have that "Maxis-y" feel to them. So even I if I knew how to do that, I prolly wouldn't. (Also, sorry guys! But I almost never download custom hair, and NEVER the realistic looking stuff.)

Thank you for your comments though!

Thank god some replacements for the swimming trunks. They were really ugly before and compared to this one they are the ugliest outfits in the game. =X Thanks Phaenoh. You really make life much easier. Oh yeah maybe you could do replacements of those Benjamin and Goopy shorts. =X They are really ugly and I hate it when my sims grow up into them. =X But anyways thanks.

You had eyes to see.

Haven't started even looking at the separates. Not sure what you mean by the benjamin and goopy shorts. Im assuming you mean the ones the NPCs of that name wear, but i can't remember offhand which ones there were.

I think its the ones with the grid pattern on them and the dull brown shoes. I think Maxis made a collection of them because there are some ones without the grid patterns and are in Black and white. If you don't know how to do the seperates then it doesnt matter.
