@niol and patul
Thanks for your reply.

For all of you, who can't wait for the approval of the attachment:
A german version of the Word document can get here: http://rapidshare.de/files/25973349...endern.zip.html

(Scroll down and click at 'free', then scroll down again, wait several seconds, type in the code in the field and click at 'Download via ...')

btw: in german width is 'Breite' and height is 'Höhe'.

I don't know, why the approval process for my attachment isn't finished after 24 hours.

So you can get the Word document (English Version) here:
http://rapidshare.de/files/26453064...t_Size.zip.html

It may take at least 24-48 hours normally, but on the busy days it can take a few days.
While waiting... may have some fun first...

I haven't tried this yet, but this is something that I have seen requested so many times in modding "building" HELP.

I have wanted to be able "enlarge" a lot many times myself.

Hope I can make heads and tails of this.

THANK you for your research and doing the tutorial.

There is a problem reported in German SimForum:
The teleporter-points of sims and cars on enlarged lots are the same as on the unchanged lots. This is as problem for lots enlarged in direction "in front", because the cars and sims are crossing the lot in the middle, not on the street.
I'll try to fix it this week. (I hope, I can identify the resource file, which define the teleporter points)

Have a look in updated post #1. Now you need only a few mouse clicks to enlarge a lot.

Btw: The problem described in post #8 is solved.

Wow... one more TS2 tool with a specific different usage...

oh, this's a break-through day for the build mode...!

Hey it would be nice to have the original version too, that made the cars cross in the middle. On some lots you might want the road in the middle.

And what I would also like to know is if you put the original small lot near to the sea, will the enlarger push the lot edges down actually into the sea? I can think of lots more uses for this :D

I don't try this, but I think LotExpander expand the lot independent of the composition of the neigbourhood.

I guess nothing on MTS2 is impossible...

This is just too good to be true, but I'm happy to test it!

I had a lot around 3x4, and somehow something happened that turned it into a 3x5 lot for some reasons... Probably, this can help explain that... Thanks....

I just tried this out and I feel it could be more useful if it made it bigger at the back instead of the front. That way the road would still line up and we could get a chance to have the back reaching into the sea. You can't do that if you have to turn it the other because the road would end up in the sea. Well... unless you remeshed the school bus to turn it into a boat.

I got the impression he's going to put those things into his lots instead of telling us how to do it. Or did I misunderstand?

The direction of enlarging the lot is depending on the orientation the lot is loading the first time by game.
Open the 'Lot Description' in Neighbourhood-package with SimPE..
There you'll find a field called U11. The game stores here the orientation the lot is loading the first time. Don't change it!!!
The direction of enlarging the lot is depending on the value of this field. The following table shows the direction (looking from street side)

value U11 | Change Width | Change Height
0 | backwards | left side
1 | left side | in front
2 | in front | right side
3 | right side | backwards

Thanks.

I tried out extending a lot into the sea, and unfortunately it lifted the land up to above sea level where the lot covered. So although it turned out to be a good way to reclaim land from the sea, it didn't help with making a beach.

Inge Jones,

Emm... she may get more screenshots and probably some notes to publish here later these few days... But, she's a busy person, and so we can't expect things to be released fast or what... Just give her some times to prepare... But, it's already amazing to learn the possibilities of those things...

I'm still confused and excited about how things are to approach too. I've not felt well for the past few days, but excitements just keep me awake...! :moose:

So, what's bad to alter them according to the values taken from lots first made in different directions in your expereinces? (just curious...)

Those parameters sound like the direction of light and shadow to me as well.

Thanks for making the app... for easy lot-editing...

Bu the way, does that all mean is that one has to gather the lot infos from both the lot file and the neighbourhood file? If those relationships can be figured out, more manipulations on lot size and direction can be done?

No of course not. I just didn't spot anything in that journal that was stating an intention to publish the technique. You may know that is her intention by chatting to her or something, and then I am happy.

The first time loading a lot defines the coordinate system for some resources. Changing the value of U11 will confuse the game and the next time replacing the lot ends up with a terrible hole in the neighbourhood.
