WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF MAGIC: Harry Potter Collection of Lots!

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION
This set includes both residential and commercial lots. There are a total of 25 download pages (with 34 individual files to download) in this collection.

GRIMMAULD PLACE NEIGHBORHOOD (A Separate Download):
This download page is separate from the Grimmauld Place Neighborhood dowload page. The Grimmauld Place Neighborhood includes Grimmauld Square and 7 separate Grimmauld row houses. Each house is identical in design, but has it's own unique look. 12 Grimmauld place is lavishly decorated. The lots and individual houses are smaller than the lots found on this page. You may wish to grab Grimmauld Square to compliment this download. The Grimmauld Place Neighborhood can be found here:

Harry Potter Collection: Grimmauld Place Single Lot

HOUSE INFORMATION
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This download contains 2 versions of Grimmauld Place. Each version occupies 1 lot. Terraced houses are an important part of London's architectural history. 1 Version has the Terraced homes connected on the lot. The 2nd Version separates the 3 lots. Keep in mind, 11 Grimmauld Place and 13 Grimmauld Place are merely for decorative purposes and Sim stories/videos. For this reason, I did not furnish them at all. However, 12 Grimmauld Place (the middle house on the lot belonging to the Black Family) has 2 furnished floors ( entry hall, parlour, dining room, kitchen, stairwell, basement entry, 1 and 1/2 bathroom, 3 Bedrooms) and decorative walls. The halls are decorated with an ornate green pattern (to represent Slytherin) and the entry includes portraits of key Black family members and the Black Family Tree. The walls of the stairwell are decorated with the heads of former Black family house elves. All of the above information is true for both versions.

DISCONNECTED TERRACE LOTS :

RESIDENTIAL LOT / §393,260 / 3 Separate Buildings on 1 Lot / 4 X 4 Lot / Partially furnished (Only floors 1 and 2 of 12 Grimmauld Place have furniture) / Each Building is 6 Stories (Attic, Four Floors, Basement, Enclosed Back Yard)

CONNECTED TERRACE LOTS:

RESIDENTIAL LOT / §392,549 / 3 Connected Buildings on 1 Lot / 4 X 4 Lot / Partially furnished (Only floors 1 and 2 of 12 Grimmauld Place have furniture) / Each Building is 6 Stories (Attic, Four Floors, Basement, Enclosed Back Yard, Second Stairwell and Roof Porches)

Note:
The following information is for each house in BOTH VERSIONS. Keep in mind that each house includes a basement and an attic.

First Floor: Parlour, Dining Room, Kitchen, 1/2 Bath, Basement Stairs
Second Floor: 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, 1 Sitting Room
Third Floor: 4 Empty Rooms
Fourth Floor: 4 Empty Rooms

OTHER INFORMATION

THANK YOU!
I owe the deepest of gratitude to all the extraordinary artists whose objects helped to bring my vision of Harry Potter's Magical World to life! Thank you for sharing your time and talent with the Sim community. Thank you to the following artist for helping to bring a little "magic" to the Sim World: mzcynnamon. Be sure to browse the links at the end of the post for other fabulous downloads by this artist!

MY TEXTURES:
All stephanie b. walls, floors and ground covers included in houses downloaded from MTS2 can be used in lot creations on any free or pay site as long as I receive credit for the textures. Please do not post my textures (walls, floors or groundcovers) or lots on other sites without my permission or reupload them as your own by giving them color face-lifts without giving me credit for the original design. Thank you!

NOT A CARBON COPY:
These lots are creations from my imagination based mainly on excerpts from the books and on-line information. I am basing very little on the movie versions of each place, so don't expect exact replica's of movie versions of the various places in the Magic and Muggle World.

MY VISION FOR HARRY POTTER NEIGHBORHOOD:
My vision for this neighborhood is that the students do not "live" in Hogwarts. I see the school as home to only a few teachers (Dumbledore, McGonagall, Trelawney). Everyone else is spread out in either their family homes or in the Summer Houses.

MY SOURCE:
I used the floorplans found on the Harry Potter Lexicon site as inspiration. For extensive Potter INFORMATION, checkout the HP Lexicon here: www.hp-lexicon.org

MY JOURNAL
Be sure to download the entire Harry Potter Collection of lots here at Mod the Sims 2 (as they appear):

Enjoy the downloads!

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Hi (again) Jammy!

Well, I am actually probably one of few people who do not use some special program to create walls. I create my wall textures using the basic Paint program in Windows and a freeware (at least it used to be) image program called Irfran. I create a basic wallpaper in Paint and use Irfran to clean it up and save the images.

For the elf heads...I found a round plaque on the Internet, cut it out of the background and cleaned the edges using Paint. Then I created my elves in the game and cut their faces out of using Paint. Then, I overlapped the heads onto the plaques and the plaques onto the wallpaper. Sounds complex, but it really isn't difficult.

As for the Black Family Tree, I simply lined up 4 wallpaper tiles in Paint, added the "Toujours Pur" (Always Pure) Black family crest and typed in the names one row at a time. Then, I cut out 256x512 (4 total) pieces of my mural and saved each piece using Irfran.

Take care and (as always)...Enjoy the download!

This is brilliant! And I'm very glad you're not going too much off the movies in your HP creations (:

That didn't sound how it was meant to - I mean to say I'm glad you're NOT using too much movie influence.

Abitha!

Don't worry about it. I take comments with a grain of salt (the good, the bad and the ugly). Although it is hard to discern what people really mean by reading words at times, I KNEW what you meant (based on other comments you made in other posts).

I actually create things that I am interested in and I have no greater critic than myself. I don't share my creations for positive comments, but I share them because I really think it would be cool if others can get enjoyment from them. There are many differences between the books and the movies. However, there are also inconsistencies with descriptions in the books. None of it REALLY matters. I take a little from everything and design the lots in my head first. Then, I use the Sims to bring them to life. My Harry Potter community looks "magical" so far. I want EVERYONE to have a bit of that magic. That is my goal. Enjoy the download!

Thank you. I love to recreate things in my own way and Harry Potter still is high on my list of favorite books and movies. If you are building Sim lots, I find it is a learning process and with time it gets better as you find your style and build lots that are playable or fun to explore! Do enjoy the downloads.

Sluggish,

Please do use the walls.

While I'm not much into uploading textures anymore, the walls in the Harry Potter collection in general are among some of my favorite. Since, I have literally hundreds of Sims 2 textures floating around out there, feel free to use any of them in your lots as long as credit is given as you said!
