This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
After I uploaded my contest entry (which was what I made this hair for) I figured I couldn't put off give you the other 3 Maxis colors for long.
Now your sims, Toddler through Elder can enjoy this adorable Baby Doll Hair. So many ringlets, so many curls! This post contains both the mesh and the four standard Maxis colors. I actually used Maxis textures and mesh pieces to put this all together, so it should match nicely with the rest of the things you have prolly forgotten about in your hair catalog. lol. Make sure you download the recolor package as well as the mesh. If you download only the mesh, you won't see anything. (If you downloaded my Shirley Temple, you don't need the mesh, it got packaged with the sim.)
Now, on to the perks!
This mesh is FULLY ANIMATED! Its actually quite bouncy, but not too much, its pretty believable in my opinion. Each hair is COLOR BINNED! Meaning, if you are looking for the red version of this hair after you download it, it will be in the bin with the rest of the red hairs! AND, any townies created after you download this have a shot of getting this hair. Each hair is FAMILY LINKED! Meaning, when you click the black version of this hair, and then decide you want to make it blonde instead, it just switches to the blonde version. Alot of CC hair I know switches back to a Maxis one and then you have to find the style you wanted all over again. The hair is CORRECT GENETICALLY! Meaning, unlike alot of CC hair, it won't always be dominant. It will behave just like Maxis hair, black and brown are dominant above red and blonde, and CC hair (that isn't genetically correct) will always override this hair. There is only 1 Gray for Elders! No more clogging up your elder's bins with 4 of the same color gray! This was done by 'hiding' the other three. Any sims with this hairstyle of any hair color can still grow old into the gray hair, but you don't have to click through 4 identical ones. If you happen to delete the blonde one, I believe it was, then you won't be able to chose this hairstyle for your elders either in CAS or in the mirror, but adult sims with it can still grow up into it. These colors are standard enough I was hoping that you'd keep all four. Don't worry, I took a look at Maxis code, and this is actually how they do it too, just we don't have the option to delete their hair, so its never an issue.
If you want to learn how to do any of these things (or start making hair from the beginning) I wrote up an article for how to do it all, and I do mean ALL. Check it out here.
My POLICYS:
Yes, you can recolor it! I'd love it if you did. To me that's a great compliment, however, you many NOT upload my mesh ANYWHERE and any recolors you make may only be uploaded at MTS2. No exchange, no paysites, no TSR, no personal sites. I don't have accounts on any other sims sites, and I want to be able to collect all the recolors that get done for my mesh. You don't have to PM me when you upload it here, chances are I'll see it, but if you want to you can. I'm pretty friendly. Also, because of how the elder hair hiding is coded, you might want to pick the blonde one to work from if you do recolors, just to be on the safe side.
See that dress Fawn is wearing? I SWEAR it is the cutest thing EVER! Get it here!
Enjoy!
