Wow, great idea! Looks good! I hate the one dimensional look of log wallpaper!

I've never been married, but I tell people I'm divorced so they won't think something is wrong with me.

As promised,I tested a little bit your new cabin set.
First let me congratulate to your set,it is excellent.Everything seems to work fine.As you can see on the first 2 pics, your fence can even be used for the woodconstruction of medieval towers.

There is a little problem with the cornercolumns.I think they should be a little bit "longer" on the cornerend.

More like this,Ithink.

If you can fix this, your whole set will be absolutely perfect.
I will make the four pics disappear in about a week,as it was only to help.
Again, thank you for this marvelous set.

This is awsome ..I actually had an idea to do something like this but turned it down because of the many different windows and doors in game ...There is a way in the Bhavs to make an object go down with the walls or at least disappear when in close ..I did it on my gutters i made ..Check out the tutorials section and you should be able to find the info there ..I just forgot where and who helped me with it ...

PS - you can also make the columns placeable no matter what , with the allow object intersection flag in the bhavs , and as a matter of fact you will need to do this or else your sims will not be able to leave the house if all you items were cloned from a column and function like a column , once again i did this with my gutters and utility poles and had to redo all the files cuz peoples sims were getting stuck in the houses when they had these items on their houses ...

The issue with sims not getting in or out was one I had considored, as a work around, I looked for a Maxis door suitable, and 'added' the log parts to the mesh for the door, so that particular section will think it is a door, because it actually is a door

I agree, and did think about that when making it. It's something I will look into for a future version of this set. At the time of building, I was more interested in getting a working prototype for the set as a whole.

My ultimate aim for this set, is to add it to the maxis walls, so that you can select it when laying down a wall, instead of having to build the walls then add the log cladding.

There are loads more items I am planning on adding to this set, fireplaces, a matching kitchen set, interior stairs etc...

Thanks for DL/Testing this

This is extremely interresting ! I wonder if pets & Bv are really needed or if any extension will make it ?

I put that seasons and BV are needed as it was columns/objects from both that I used in making the set, as to if they will work without them, possibly, I couldnt say either way without trying, and I can't do that as I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and the 'anygame launcher' doesnt work.

I'll test it this week-end and let you know then...

*Later*
Some items DO work with only Uni & Nl, some doesn't. I need a little more time to test everything one by one thoroughly . So far, the main wall are working, so are door and window.

I'll Pm you the results of my testing when done.

This set was built after TSS was released, and I had, (and still do) every EP/SP released to date, so it should work fine with pets.

I'll just wait till it's been tested, all I want to do is build the cabin house and move-in a Sim or Sim family and have at it as if it were part of the Bon Voyage Log Cabin theme!
I just want to place the Log Cabin Custom-Content stuff in my Sims 2 Downloads folder, launch the game and start building without anything new to learn, please!
