WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF MAGIC: Harry Potter Collection of Lots!

This set includes both residential and commercial lots. There are a total of 25 download pages (with 34 individual files to download) in this collection.

Harry Potter Collection: Lovegood Home

The Lovegood Home is a whimsical place at the top of a hill. It is near the Burrow, but hidden behind hills. Luna and Xenophilius Lovegood live there. Ron compared the exterior to a chess piece, a Rook. It is black and dark on the outside, but wild and colorful on the inside. There is a stream where Luna catches Plimpies and all sorts of wonderful little creatures and objects in and around the home. I felt very limited when trying to create this house as there were so many things I wanted to include that simply do not exist in the Sim world like a black door with studs and an eagle knocker, printing press, a table made of newspaper, newspaper stacks, individual newspapers, an Erumpent horn (silver, spiral horn that hangs), hanging creatures using the "Unlikely Whale Sculpture" by EA (Maxis), a picture for a table of blond Luna and mother, a bust of Rowena Ravenclaw with a headress, etc. While I don't have these objects, I do believe I did the best job possible recreating the Lovegood Home. It is very whimsical and captures many aspects of the house: zig-zag sidewalk, signs on fence, Rook-like in appearance, colorful (especially the kitchen and Luna's Room), etc.

I owe the deepest of gratitude to all the extraordinary artists whose objects helped to bring my vision of Harry Potter's Magical World to life! Thank you for sharing your time and talent with the Sim community. Thank you to the following artists for helping to bring a little "magic" to the Sim World: khakidoo, Numenor, bienchen83, marvine, corvidophile2, The Guild Masters, Lethe_s, Mia86 and Ailias. Be sure to browse the links at the end of the post for other fabulous downloads by each artist!

Although the following item is NOT included in the download, I thought it would add a little authenticity to the Lovegood Lot:
The "Cartoony" Owl by Cazkiwi can be found here:

The animations file for Marvine's Spiral Stairs is included in the zip. Be sure to add it to your downloads folder before entering the lot!

All stephanie b. walls, floors and ground covers included in houses downloaded from MTS2 can be used in lot creations on any free or pay site as long as I receive credit for the textures. Please do not post my textures (walls, floors or groundcovers) or lots on other sites without my permission or reupload them as your own by giving them color face-lifts without giving me credit for the original design. Thank you!

These lots are creations from my imagination based mainly on excerpts from the books and on-line information. I am basing very little on the movie versions of each place, so don't expect exact replica's of movie versions of the various places in the Magic and Muggle World.

My vision for this neighborhood is that the students do not "live" in Hogwarts. I see the school as home to only a few teachers (Dumbledore, McGonagall, Trelawney). Everyone else is spread out in either their family homes or in the Summer Houses.

I used the floorplans found on the Harry Potter Lexicon site as inspiration. For extensive Potter INFORMATION, checkout the HP Lexicon here:

Be sure to download the entire Harry Potter Collection of lots here at Mod the Sims 2:

Enjoy the download!

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Ooh, I love your take on the Lovegood home! The exterior is precisely how I imagined it to look. And I absolutely adore the mural you made for Luna's room, it's just so sweet. Astounding job, as always! <3

Violet and Starfish,
Thanks for the praise! I'm glad you like the lot! In the game it is so colorful and fun to watch the Sims "rollick" around in!

Thanks for the compliment.

You don't need to download the tome seperately it as it is included in the download! When you install the house, the TOME should already be there. I guess that is confusing. I am removing the extra links as they are also at the bottom of the download.

Enjoy the lot!

I must say, your take on this, the burrow and privet drive are just amazing, seriously clever I can't imagine how much work you had to put in!

Sadly I don't have all the expansion packs for them, but I will eventually and when the time comes that I do I will woop with delight and download them

Thanks Ally.

Yeah...I'm sorry about the EPs and such, but I decided that I want to build whole neighborhoods that I can play in and the way Sims 2 is building without all the EPs is very limiting most of the time because the build mode objects and capabilities are so spread out (unlike with The Sims 1). One of these days, I will challenge myself to builld with basegame and 1 or 2 other EPs that give me the most roof options and garages. Until then...I'm knee deep in 2 projects (Medieval and Simtopia) that use all EPs and Stuff packs.

So...get those EPs already so you can build your Sim hoods! Be sure to check out Lauralaima's (here on MTS) Harry Potter downloads as well!

Oh. I imagine this house very differently now! This is NOT one of my favorites, but I like little things about it. But, it will have to do I guess. Again, change the things that you wish to change. Enjoy the lot.
