This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.

This custom content if it is not clothing, may require a seperate download to work properly. This is available at Colour Enable Package (CEP) by Numenor.

Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Next part of my chimney recoloring project is the masonry set. This is my largest set so far, having 15 recolors. I've done recolors of all Maxis' masonry wallpapers (up to Family Fun Stuff) except one, the "Marbelicious" Masonry already made by Numenor here. Enjoy!

Names from the left: SlackCo Cinderblocks Wall Came with NL - "Brownstone's Revenge" Basic Masonry - Fay's Fieldstone - Sandstone Brick Wall Came with OFB - "Sedimentary, My Dear" Ashlar Treatment - Cinders of Joy Wall Came with OFB - "Soft Rock" Faux Stone Blocks

These walls all came with UNI
Names from the left: Blunt Opinion Stone Wall - "Stack 'Em Up" Stone Wall - "Sedate Stone" Red Stone Wall - "Say No More" Wall in Grey Stone - "Running the Rapids" Rock Wall - "Wall of Thunder" Red Stone Wall - "Latipsoh" Green Cinderblocks - "Latipsoh" Slate Grey Cinderblocks

How to use:
First of all, you need the CEP or the chimneys won't be recolourable at all.
Put your fireplace where you want it. If you move it after you recolored it, the chimney will revert to the red bricks. Then, in Buy or Build Mode, select the Design Tool. Click on the chimney, and the recolors will appear. There are quite a few parts to the chimney and they all need to be recolored separately.
If you experience any problems or oddities, please let me know.

Other Sets:
I got a few requests and ended up creating chimney recolors matching all of Maxis outdoor wallpapers (the ones I consider outdoor, that is). There are quite a few recolors, but they're named after their corresponding wallpaper, and you can easily delete the ones you don't want and keep only your favourites. These are the existing sets. If you have any other requests, let me know and I’ll have a look at it.

Thanks! These will be useful. I found the siding ones a little worrying - look like a fire hazard to me - but these are great.

Can we use these in house uploads?

Hehe, true true. Maybe they put the siding on a chimney of bricks or concrete?

Yes, absolutely. But I'd appreciate a link back to where you got it.

Kimsie,
Thank you very much! These are terrific.

Is there anyway to make them so that they don't change back to the default chimney in the neighborhood screen shot?

Thanks Again!

Not that I know of, unfortunately. Think it's the same reason why the chimney reverts back to the bricks when you move it. My theory, remember that I really don't know, just guessing, is that it has to do with the CEP. The chimneys weren't originally recolourable, but were made so thanks to Numenor's effort. Probably it has to do with how they were made recolourable, maybe it's not possible to create a non-reverting recolor that will show up in the neighborhood screent, thanks to how Maxis programmed it.

Wonderful upload! However I seem to be having trouble getting the uppermost section of the chimney to recolour. Anyone else expierencing this?

Sometimes, when you're too close to the chimney (just before it turns transparent) it looks like you can recolor it, but nothing happens when you click on it with the design tool.
I don't know if that was how you experienced it, but if it is, all you need to do is to zoom out, or move back a little and it should be recolourable.

Hope this helps.
