This looks really great, but I would love to see a before picture of what all the ages look like without this edit (of just one skintone).

Here's some toddler and child "before" pictures I cut from my story snapshots and a six age before/after. The differences are most apparent in toddlers and children, but also take a look at the eye socket shading of older sims.

Thanks for these I use HP's skins all the time, both default replacements and custom. It will be nice to see some facial difference between the ages too.

I think slightly stronger wrinkles for the elders would be good - I can barely see them in your screenshots.

I can barely see them myself and I know where to look! Stronger wrinkles are planned for the future...

Thanks for doing all this hard work! There are lots of nice skins out there, the originals of these being darned good, but few, if any seem to have new faces. This will solve the problem. *downloads*

I've been using this but it seems to need fixing.

I replaced the original default package, and left the skin files alone, as described above - but in-game, the sims' hair and skin was odd in the way it would be if I just took out the default-replacing file. (Hairstyles become white with text all over them) The sims were right again when I put HP's file back in. So, something about your file is not quite working. Hope you can fix it!

Regards, aelflaed.

Hrm... The only thing I changed was the texture images and the file name. This probably won't help, but try this :

1) change the file name to what HP's file was named.
2) if that doesn't help, take the default replacement file out (leave skins in), play the sims, you should get regular HP skins, then exit the sims, put my default replacement file back in, please let me know if that works or not.

Meanwhile, I'll try to fix things from my end.

Default HP default file
Here is the original default file, as requested.

I'm trying your suggestion for renaming the files too.

Edit - renaming the file seems to work sometimes.

"DEFAULTREPLACEMENT_Skin_Idolatry-of-Flesh_HystericalParoxysm_ageTransitionFaces_CatOfEvilGenius_MTS2.package" Does NOT work. (shortened version of name)

"DEFAULTREPLACEMENT_Skin_Idolatry-of-Flesh-AC_s1-s4_HystericalParoxysm-DemusedSims-MTS2.package" DID seem to work once, but the next time I tried, it does not.

Took your file out completely, and HP's also. Skins look okay, presumably Maxis though.

Great! I edited my previous post with some name-change results - doesn't really work. I'll look forward to your updated version!

Aelflaed - short answer: Please redownload HP's original 4 skintone files from here.

long answer: I've tested a.t. faces with the files I downloaded from HP's page, and I tested HP's skins with the default file you kindly sent me, the one with AC in the name. The AC file does NOT work with HP's four skin tone files. HP's default replacement file does not have AC in the name. Are you sure you got it from HP? There are others creators who modify her work besides me, maybe you got it from one of them? I think your 4 skin tone files are also not HP's original files, but modified ones meant for use with the AC file. For example, here are the 4 skin tones, modified by someone (may or may not be the ones you have). Nothing at all wrong with that, but you need HP's original 4 skintone files to work with my a.t. faces default replacement file. I recommend you redownload the 4 skintone files from HP's web page (or post #11 above). They should work fine with either my default replacement file or HP's default replacement file. If that doesn't work, I'll be surprised, do let me know.

cheers,
Cat

Mine are definitely HP's, but they are the Anatomically Correct versions from her private webpage. On checking that site again just now, I notice that they have their own Default versions. So, I think I have been misleading you somewhat, for which I apoliogise - they are so close to being the same files, but not quite.

So now I will have to choose - either AC, or transitioning faces. Hmm. Difficult!

I know how it feels when someone reports something buggy in your work. I appreciate your patience, and I'm glad the problem turned out to be whitewash in the end.

Aelflaed - you don't have to choose! I'll make an AC version (and better wrinkles at some point too).

Like Aelflaed, I have the anatomically correct version of HP's default skins and my Sims have white/text hair and or body. Looking forward to your AC version.
Cheers.

Default Bug Report
Hiya CatOfEvilGenius, I'm sorry for the delay in responding. Yes I have had the exact same problem with the Age Transition Faces, as aelflaed reported.

UserLaura76 I have made a version for anatomically correct skins, it will fix the problem. It's in the moderation queue at SexySims2, I'll post a link when it is approved.

For those who would like a non-default version of these faces, I plan to make one... eventually... just need to find the time. If you subscribe to this thread, and sort subscribed threads by "last update", you'll know when this gets done.

I plan to make the non-default version still use HP's files, because she should still get those downloads and thanks, she did all that work and I'm just changing the faces.

Do you think you could make your face textures available for us to use separately? I'm redoing my default skins using HP's, but with the pale skintone as S1 instead. I'd like to use the rest of yours as defaults, but I haven't a clue how to do that since you just replaced her default package instead of uploading each separately like you did for the pale skin. A set of non-defaults would work, too, since I could make them into the defaults I want them to be.

Hi, I was wondering if you can make a default of the pale age-transition as skintone 1 in the game?
