Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Requires NL+OfB+Seasons.
Custom content included: Open Underneath Stairs by crocobaura -- please follow the instructions in the download thread if you want to install these properly. This lot will work fine if you don't, but you won't be able to select them or use them in other lots (they won't show up in the catalogue, which is what the installation procedure is for). Included as a separate download is frillen's Invisible Driveway -- put it in your Downloads folder before attempting to play this lot.

For sims that are sick of living in the suburbs, Backdoor Lane provides an alternative: a couple of small town lots with a more urban look and feel. They fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, creating a maze of backyard gardens and interconnected alleyways when placed in a tightly spaced neigbourhood. Most of them work as corner lots as well as facing the street, creating a very different impression depending on how you place them and what's on the lot next door.

Backdoor Lane 47:
Two small houses on a 2x2 lot, both of them furnished for 1-2 sims with room for more. The floorplans are identical, but used a bit differently in each house -- one has a bedroom with bath on the top floor, the other one uses that space as an attic; also the kitchen/dining is different. Access to the back yard via the kitchen, parking for two cars in the yard, cars included. Sims with a green thumb or two could probably convert the run-down backyard in a miniature garden.

Left house (seen from the street):
1 x double bedroom
1 x bathroom -- showerbath only
1 x kitchen/dining/living
1 x spare room
1 x attic (empty)

Right house:
1 x double bedroom
2 x bathroom
1 x kitchen
1 x dining
1 x living room
1 x spare room

All basics included, with lots of stuff on top. Have fun!

Lot Size: 2x2
Lot Price: 89.962§

- Steadfast Stairs Open Underneath by crocobaura
Number of bedrooms: 2 Bedrooms

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Oh the cuteness! It kills me ded. And it looks so real! I love the little details like the mailboxes next to the doors, the streetlamps, the cute little planter out front, the trashcans and little fenced in yard out back. And the overall architecture of course. So adorable! Yer still the best, plasticbox.

Hurray! New Backdoor Lane houses. Every time I enter one of these lots I'm always blown away by the architecture and attention to detail. Thanks so much!

I also hope Backdoor Lane #42 is doing okay.

I don't know very much about Apartment Life (I switched to OSX and we don't even have Freetime yet), but having separate households on the same lot has been possible since the base game .. see my Backdoor Lane #10 thread for info/suggestions. I can also heartily recommend cristianlov's Wallet Controller (avaliable here on mts2) for managing separate budgets for every sim/family.

But yeah, for all I know most regular multi-household lots should be very easy to modify into AL apartments. I just don't know how back doors / shared courtyards would behave. I guess you need to experiment .. =)

@ Lostaccount

I'm having alot of trouble converting this specific house. Any suggestions?

Or is there a special thread for this sort of problem already? If so, I didn't find it...
