Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
No EPs required.

Mini starter on a 1x2 lot, with fenced-in garden, terrace and fireplace. Furnished for 1–2 sims, no spare rooms, enough space for one rotated driveway in front.

1 x double bedroom
1 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining
1 x living room

You could cut off a tiny second bedroom from the upstairs landing if you swap the two-tile window there for two small ones and put a wall in between.

All basics included plus a stove, a chess set, a dresser, a mirror and a fireplace.

There is an unfurnished version too (fixtures only; not pictured), it costs 16.363§.

This lot is shrunk with Mootilda's LotAdjuster (v1.1, available here on mts2) – you can easily expand the lot with that if your sims want a bigger garden.

Enjoy!

Lot Size: 1x2
Lot Price: 19.993§

Number of bedrooms: 1 Bedroom
Custom Content Included: None
Furnishings: Fixtures Only Starter Furnishings

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I'm sorry but I have absoutely no idea about current tutorials. If the ones on the wiki didn't help, I think you should probably post in the Build mode forum with a screenshot and an explanation of where you got stuck, then it should be easy to figure out what exactly went wrong.
