This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

Kiddie Pool, New and Improved!

This is a simple little one-tile kiddie splash pool. It has the following main features:
- Toddlers can play around and splash in it
- Children can jump and kick in the water

It is superior to its predecessor in a few key respects:
- Playing will increase hygiene/water and fun
- If the toddler or child has swimwear, they will change into that before playing. If not, they will change into underwear/diapers.
- It does not cause errors in debugmode. ( )

It does NOT override the original wading pool.

(Yes, toddlers can have swimwear. fakepeeps7 made some particularly cute ones shown in my screen shots, and Phaenoh's clothing migration instructions will help you enable them for the swimwear category.)

The default appearance is the blue version. It includes one sample recolour, which is red with pictures of building blocks on it.

Any issues, please post here.

Poly count: 132
Recolour enabled: Yes
Catalog: General/Child
Price: 35 Simoleans
Policy: Do whatever you like, credit is appreciated.
EPs: This is base game compatible and does not override any default behaviour.

A bit of background... (aka, "If I Knew Then What I Know Now")

Way back at the dawn of time... February 2005, anyway... I was quite the newbie on the sim scene. There was very limited information on modding, so I spent days messing with this and that, trying to get a puddle to be buyable and not to disappear over time, and eventually got it working. I was pretty darned proud. That was my original "Functional Wading Pool".

Phae mentioned to me today that there was a bug in that very old object, but when I went to look at it I realised just what a horrific mess the code in it was. If I knew then what I know now, and all that... She also asked if it was possible to have toddlers change into swimwear before playing. So I re-made it. This is the result.

So spiffy! There are not enough things in the game for toddlers. Thank you for updating and sharing.

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.
Not actually evil.

THANK you!! I'd been wanting something to make the toddlers automatically change into swimwear when using the kiddy pool! It's a bit of a pain to get them all the way down there and then realize I have to get an adult to bring them all the way back up to Phaenoh's dresser (the only way I can get kids into swimwear; InSIMenator won't do it!)

EDIT: I've noticed another improvement, by the way: it's under "Misc - Kids" instead of "Plumbing - Misc", which makes a lot more sense to me!

This is so great. Nothing better than watching a toddler play in a pool.

What a great object. Thanks for this update, Echo, and thanks for your constant presence on the Creation forums. I've learned quite a bit from you.

I know that this is base-game compatible, but does it satisfy water need for plantsims (like the OFB water wiggler)?
If not, no biggie, I was just wondering if you had implemented that.

This is superb! Thanks so much, Echo. There are so few things for toddlers to enjoy that I always try to rush that life stage - anything that keeps them occupied and adds variety to their little lives is most appreciated.

Phae - It was easier to remake than to retrofit the swimsuits into the old one, and this way I didn't have to figure out what was causing that error for you!

but does it satisfy water need for plantsims

Theoretically, yes. Water for plantsims should be hygiene for regular sims, so it should satisfy water for toddler-plants. I'm fresh out of actual plantsim toddlers to test it on though, so I can't say 100%.

I've noticed another improvement, by the way: it's under "Misc - Kids" instead of "Plumbing - Misc", which makes a lot more sense to me!
Yes, not entirely sure why I filed it under plumbing originally. Chalk it up to momentary insanity at the time?

does this overwrite the original pool?

Nope, because people have recoloured the original and recolours wouldn't match the new mesh. These each have their own GUIDs.
