No Autonomous IM'ing/Stereo Dancing/Watching TV (Mix & Match)

These 3 anti-autonomy mods were based on requests that I got after I released the No Autonomous Computer Games mod. I felt the same way about a lot of these things, so here are a few more mods that will keep your sims from doing stupid things on their own.

They are fully compatible with:
  • The AwesomeMod/The Indie Stone SP Mod/Any Other Core Mod
  • Any of my other mods.
  • Any other XML mods that do not modify the same interaction(s).

Therefore, they are mix and match - you can choose any combination of these packages. The names are self explanatory, all you have to do is unzip them to your Mods/Packages folder. As always, any questions or comments are welcome to be posted. Enjoy

Thank you, but I think you're still missing one more thing. I downloaded your no autonomous computer games mod, and to compensate for that my Sims are always browsing the web. So even though IMing and video games are disabled, my Sims will squeeze the last autonomous resource on the computer and browse the web all the time.

Any idea if you could do one for the video games on the TV? I don't want to get rid of it, but my kid sims dont even do their homework! They just go straight for the games! (Oh man, I sound like my mom!)

Anyway, thank you! I love these!

@Shelbo
I personally like my sims to be able to take care of themselves, but the purpose of no autonomy hacks is so that sims won't do certain things that have no purpose or sims seem to be obsessed with.

@Xebaris and Obnoxiousacorns
I'll get working on disabling sims from browsing the web and playing video games autonomously

I have a question: Rorf also made a non-autonomous stereo dancing mod but it also stops the sims from dancing together. I like that feature because I have a lot of parties and I want them to dance with whomever without being told, but I don't want them dancing alone. Does your mod also disable dancing together?

Gawd, I'm loving S3!!

Thanks. Could you make one for no autonomous guitar playing?

Thanks, I'm one of the people who requested these, I appreciate the effort. Now about that toe tapping/route fail, lol, I write that everywhere. Awesome mod just doesn't work for me with that and it's a pain in the butt

For those of you that wanted the no autonomous web browsing/playing video games:

@Ghostinmyhall
Sure, I'll post a link here when I upload it

@Fluttereyes
No problem, and it doesn't look like that can be changed through XML hacks, sorry :\
Did you make sure to set the configuration correctly? That's the only thing I can think of that might be a problem.

Ok, I'll bite, lol. Set what configuration properly? I used the instructions on this site to set up the folder structure and entered my mods manually into the packages folder. I then decided to remove them and try the helper monkey and it didn't change a thing. All my other mods I got from here work in the game, just not awesome mod. I sill have toetapping, baby spawning, etc going on. I even chose which parts of awesome mod I wanted to prevent any clashes with other mods. Right now I'm struggling to try and make my own. I want my sims to stop instantly putting that stereo on at all, she is driving me crazy.

You know what really bugs me. When in the pool they do that panicking thing, grrr, now that is getting so annoying I'm thinking of taking away the pool.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, I just don't know why awesome mod won't work for me.

If you mean this one d3dx9_31.dll, yes I have it. I just went over and downloaded his framework again and checked, I have everything he said to have.

I'm finding this is stopping them from dancing on their own. My teen was stressed and fund level was way down. I clicked the stereo to get her to dance to boost her fun, and she wouldn't. It happened with another of my sims the other day too, just after I put this in. Basically they go to the stereo and just stand there, the command from me disappears from the screen. They still dance together though, so I had to get someone to dance with her to boost her fun level.

I want them to stop wanting to dance to the stereo as soon as they wake up, but don't want it to stop me from directing them to do it.

Is there a fix for this at all?

That's really strange, I don't know what could be wrong. And this mod shouldn't disable them from dancing if you direct them to do so, it only disables the option for them to do it autonomously (nothing else in the XML is modified but that). That's really strange...

I'm going to check my awesome mod to see if I have anything that's clashing. I thought it was weird too as nobody else has the problem. I've done everything I can with awesome mod and it doesn't work anyway, it can go. Theres nothing in there that somebody else will create at some point anyway. I didn't download the whole thing, I need to find my list then I'll let you know what it was, if I find out

Oh I am an idiot. The awesome mod. It wasn't working beaus I removed the original one to put the newer configuration in, I thought it would be a replacement.

Stereo, I had the don't wire stereo in bedroom one. I've removed it to see if there's an issue with that.

I have pop star Sim who keeps wanting to dance together with her father in law. I cancel it from her queue and she puts it back in there. I'll see if it works better now, sorry about this

I love this mod! My Sims were almost always going to play on their computer but now that their not gaming or IMing, I've found that they're going to play Chess all the time. Maybe if you felt like it you could include that too :/ Stupid Sims and their computer obsession.

Thanks so much for everything you've done so far! Keep up the great work!

can you make a mod for no autonomous turning on/off stereo? had my sim upgrade to wire house with speakers. now no one can sleep because someone turns the radio on and then everyone wakes up.

There's a fix in Awesome Mod that addresses that issue, I believe. I'm pretty sure the Default setting is "Wired Stereos Ignore Bedrooms" but if you'd like to know for sure, check out the Config and make any changes necessary.

I don't necessarily mind my Sims using the computer autonously, but if they'd just get off the computer when their Fun was full that'd be ideal. I'll keep a look out for something like that, but in the meantime, this will do quite nicely. Thank you so much!
