This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

I have converted a simple cut for males from Sims 2 to Sims 3 because male men really need a simple basic cut.

Features:
  • New hair doesn't overwrite any existing hair
  • For male sims of all ages
  • Fully recolorable
  • If you donwload the file for all ages, the textures of the child and toddler hair references to the adult hair. If you don't want the hair for all ages you should download the file of the specific age group. So you can choose which file you want.

Here is a picture of all ages (toddler, child, teenager, young adult, adult, elder):

Here are shown some diffrent angles of the hair:

Here is a close up of the hair. The arrows shows you the known issues of the hair.

Known issues:
  • The texture doesn't fit 100% at the site. But it isn't this much noticeable.
  • With some angles there is a gap between hair and head. I wasn't able to remove them in Milkshape. If I put the hair closer to the head some parts of the hair stick in the head. Maybe it's because of the low polys of the mesh.

Here are some pictures of the gap between hair and head. Sorry for that, but I couldn't remove them. They aren't visible with all angles. But I wanted to show you that they are there. Cause you should know what you download.

Polygon Counts:
Polys: 300
Vertices: 192

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Thank you for this, it's so useful to have a normal short neat hairstyle for men in TS3 after all the terrible wacky styles the game came with!

I couldn't agree more. I liked a lot of the TS2 hairs because they were normal and looked nice on any sim. Thank you so much for this stylish and versatile hair

Fabulous! I wouldn't have noticed the issues if you didn't point them out. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for adding a realistic, typical hairstyle to the game. While I do love my fair share of emo hairs and such, Sims 3 allows for even greater customization of townies and those hairs don't work for every sim. I just love all your work!

Thank you for making a simple, average, masculine male hair. The EA ones are over the top goofy and the ones that various Asian modders (Peggy, Rose, Raon et al) have been peddling or people have been converting make the male sims look like emo trannies.

Also thank you for pointing out the issues with the hair even though I don't mind and haven't notice it in the game.

There's a huge difference between someone like yourself who points out the flaws of your work even though you give it away for free, and certain OTHER modders who hide the flaws of their work and then try to sell it to people.

I applaud your integrity.

thank you! Other than the flaws you pointed out this is an excellent piece of work. It looks great and was needed in the game. The first thing I looked for in the shop was a NORMAL male hairstyle, sometimes I want my sims to be squares.

Thank you so much for sharing with us. It's so rare to find a "regular" hairstyle for guys -- appreciate it very much.

This is great! We definately need more 'normal' hairs in the game and this looks very good.

THANK YOU THANK YOU! I have been using your Pixie hair and this will be a great addition. Your pixie hair looked very nice on my male model (featured in a couple of my uploads), well at least from the feedback I got. Looking forward to seeing how this looks on them. Two thumbs up keep up the great work.

Thank you so much! 8D I usually play with my sims from a distance, so I can see what's going on through out the house, so the little issues won't bug me at all. Thanks again! <3
