It annoyed me that in my community gyms where I put a stereo or a TV, sims would just start hula-dancing or watching the cooking channel. Not very gym-like.

So I created these 3 modified objects (found in hobbies under exercise):

Tai Chi Class (12th Century Song Dynasty Vase) $200

Yoga Class (Nocturnal Imagination Receiver from Apparati Inc.) $50

Workout TV (Soma "Wall-Eye" Large Screen Flat-Panel Television) $2000

Each object can be placed in your community gym and will allow your sims to autonomously use the item. With a selectable sim you can also click on the item and direct them.

Tai Chi Class/Vase
Will allow sims to do Tai Chi and it will increase their energy and comfort.

Yoga Class/Picture
Will allow sims to do Yoga and it increases their hunger and fun (because yoga is fun and satisfying!)

Workout TV
This TV will allow sims to workout ONLY! They cannot just watch TV. The workout increases their social.

I had to make a Yoga interaction as I couldn't find one in the game that I could modify, so this isn't a 'real' yoga interaction. You cannot join yoga, or ask anyone else to join, nor can you skill up - you can gain fitness, though. The sims also tend to do yoga a lot and won't stop even if you close business - they will stop, however, if you decide to go home or if their motives get low - suggestions are greatly appreciated.

very clever! I always hated having half my sims trying to workout and then another one would come in and change the channel to the cooking one. Thanks!

I have needed these forever! I've always hated that in my big, beautiful gym with every amenity, sims only use the treadmill or stand around watching tv. Now the aerobics pad can be fully functional. What a great Xmas present, Thanks!

I think one thing this is missing would be something like a mat you could place on the ground that would let sims do exercising like they do with a TV, only you wouldn't need a TV in the room.

Otherwise it's great, though.

I´d want a version with no hunger gain. Also i wish you´d made these objects with an invisible recolor but i guess someone else might make those.

Hi I'll do one with a no hunger gain for you. I only put hunger so that the items could work together, as in the sims would use each item according to what needs they need to gain so each item would be used relatively equally. This is my very first mod, I'm not sure how to do an invisible recolour. I did initially try the mat, but I need more modding knowledge first.

I'm just wondering, since some items seem to be like this, do these all require all of the EPs listed, or does each have some of its own requirements?

Fantastic idea, sigil! I know just how you feel, sometimes sims do such stupid, inappropriate things (like playing catch while a baby is being born or going to work in the middle of a wedding party) and now watching the cooking channel in a workout class??? Come on! I love sims but sometimes they are such bone-heads!

So I really appreciate you doing this fix. I'll go ahead and test it out. I have eps up to apartment life, so I'll see if there are any conflicts or not. Thanks!

Very cool idea! I agree with the no hunger gain thing for yoga, but this is a cool idea for sure, and nicely executed! Thanks

I don't take requests. :-)

I too am wondering if you need all the EPs mentioned... Yoga and the Exercise channel came with the base game, so I guess what I really wanna know is if this is base game compatible, or could you perhaps make it so? I love the idea, but I don't have my BV installed, and I'd be happy to go without tai chi... =)

I don't have ofb, but I really would like this. Is that possible?

For definate you would need BV for the Tai chi. Both the workout and yoga option came with the base game. However, I don't know when the Vase or the Flat screen TV was introduced so I've had to put all EP's up to BV. However if in your game you have the Vase and the TV then you could try to see if it works.

JUst, as reporting, I have double deluxe and bv. The tai-chi vase works fine, but the bar showing that they are skilling doesn't appear. The TV appears, but whenever you click on it and select workout, the game errors. And the other object doesn't even appear.

Awesome idea! I wont download it for a while though because I'm not in a Sims mood but I've put it in my favorites!

This is a really good idea. When I send my Sims to the leisure centre to get fit, it would be nice if they did some actual fitness work...

As for the question of expansion packs, sigil5, perhaps using the AnyGameStarter mod would help you establish exactly which expansions are needed for each object?

Keep up the good work!

I would use all of these mods in my game, but I don't have pets. I do have all the other ep's required.

Are you making these to only work on community lots? I can get one of my sims to get a bunch of other sims to join in tai chi on a residential lot. I also did it a lot in houses on the uni campus with my sims' visitors. But it would be nice to use on a residential lot and have a way to start doing the tai chi without having to ask each and every sim individually to "Let's tai chi".

I hope you are able to update it so that pets isn't required. Attach it to a base game object even if the tai chi itself requires Bon Voyage.

I love these but I made a mistake when I put them in my dorm. I don't like playing the college and so when something comes on tv to watch I pull the college up and let the kids do there own thing. All has gone well in past with only one or two ever getting on probation. Witch is fine. But I left them with the new exorcise stuff and when I came back four of my five playables were dead and two of the non playable died. They did not stop to eat. sleep or anything. Opps. I would have left it has a tragec illness or acsadent except one of the sims I did not want to lose. So I did not save the game. It was interesting. Sorry in advance about my spelling.
