This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Don't you just hate the lack of short male hair that isn't so spikey you're afraid if you put it on a sim you might just kill him? I do. I think I have three good short male hairs in my game, maybe four. So I decided it was high time I did something about it, and something that would made me think. My other upload was shamefully easy, so this I think is better. This is the same hair that is worn by Sims 2 sims such as John Burb, Victor Aspir and Armand DeBateau. I used this hair often, too often probably, and was pining for it.
So here it is!

Oh and yayness! The control was fixed by Menaceman44, praise him with your cookies! I'm going to work on the child version now, then the toddler version, but life seems to want me to pay attention to it, so it's taking longer than usual.

More moreness! Menaceman44, who has been so much help that I may propose, showed to me that the LODs weren't correctly alligned (see: http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/2198/hairlods.jpg). So, I'm uploading that too. Why is this good? Because people with lower preformance games may see scalp clipping which is a bad thing. So now, hopefully, they won't. I recommend you download the new version 4.

Finally, the textures aren't great, I had to scale them upwards and make them brighter and what not, but they are better than my first attempt (the first attempt was bad, really bad).

Anywhom, have fun! :D

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Thank god! Finally some decent hair! If gotten so tired of those goofy hairs EA gave. If you converted more Maxis hairs I will worship you! But really fantastic job!

Awesome! You're my hero! Sims 3 has a large lack of normal hair for guys.

I think I love you.
The Sims 2 male hair selection was so much better than what we currently have in Sims 3.
Any plans for more conversions?

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Sims 3 hairstyles for all ages/sexes were a real step-down from Sims 2 -- I'm glad there's folks like you to help rectify that.
#11 Old 12th Jan 2010 at 6:34 PM
Oh wow, this was one of my favorite hairstyles in the Sims 2 base game! You did a great job. It's nice to have it for the Sims 3.

My God, thank you all for these comments, they're so fufilling. I am doing more conversions, at the moment I'm doing some female hairs (Bella's, Dina's, and "the Red-Topped woman from the Front Cover"'s hair), but I do intend to make more male hairs. No one be afraid to say what their favourite hair was (any EP, and SP) and if there is an obvious want for a particular hair, I'll try to do it. Thank you again, guys! :D

Ooh, I forgot to mention, at some point I want to make child versions for these. Don't expect it soon, but expect it none the less.

Oh you sweet wonderful person, that's my favorite sim hair ever and I've been so annoyed at the lack of decent Maxis hairs for remaking Sims 2 sims into Sims 3. Totally my favorite person of the week.

Oh wow, someone is actually converting the Sims 2 hair! _Thank_ you!
The nutty hairstyles in Sims 3 are driving me crazy, so I'm grateful for any addition... heck, all my female sims at this point are wearing the same two hairstyles (what can I say, I like short hair and the base game + shop stuff only have two decent short hairstyles. God I miss the hair from Sims 2), I'm almost getting desperate enough to start doling out the hat hairdos. Almost.

Thank you, everyone, again, I love all of these comments, I'm personally surprised no one's complained about anything; I personally don't like the texture, but hey, I guess desperate times desperate measures (I'm talking about the lack of short male hair, of course).

Alack, arelenriel, the Bella Goth hair is going to be delayed, I simply can't understand multiple bone assignments! I am looking into it though, so I expect that hair will be out within this month.

And Wojtek0, I don't even know why people want money for these objects, the thanks I've been getting is like gold.
