Neither the stone walls nor the stone floor tiles are usable in the game since they're not seamless tiles. The wall textures were also made to the wrong aspect ratio and look deformed when used in the game. Wall textures should be 256x768 pixels and then reduced/compressed to 256x512 pixels before importing with HomeCrafter Plus.

The picture shows the effect of using floor tiles that aren't seamless. Not very pretty.

The plugin used here which is the first set of 3 to make up the new EyeCandy 5 series has a setting to make this seamless. I've used it for this purpose. ;-)

Well unfortunately natural stone does not 'tile seamlessly' in real life. However having said that some tiles work well and others do not. It does come down to a matter of choice and personal opinion as to what is acceptable.

Well first and foremost, I use all of the above in my games and don't have a problem.I do not submit anything I have not used myself to check for problems. They are neither distorted nor are they unusable. Secondly, the walls, have a part 1 and 2 and are both named part one and part 2. You go every other panel.

Next in line these were made at 256 X 512, and the "Walkways" were made 256 X 256. All of them are, and the template for the home crafter is what I went by for the walls, 256 X 512.

The Tiles for the "walkway" were purposely not made a seamless tile because nature is not perfect, why would they be? If someone would like me to make a stone Floor, Ill be more than happy to make one.

Here is a screen shot of them used in my game.

The template in HomeCrafter Plus is 256x512 because that's the size the textures should be when imported, but if you look in HomeCrafter Plus you'll notice that the walls are stretched from a 1:2 aspect ratio (256x512) to 1:3 (256x768) in the preview window. That's the size used in the game. So wall textures should be made 256x768, then reduced to 256x512 (using image resize) before importing. Just look in HomeCrafter Plus and you'll see for yourself. So there's really nothing to discuss.

As for the seamless tiles I agree that nature isn't perfect, but it looks very odd when there's sand/mortar between some stones and not between others (ie along the edges of each square). You should at least provide some sand/mortar along the edges of the squares too if you're going to claim that you did it on purpose because nature isn't perfect.

As far as what you said about the grout, When you buy stepping stones to do a walk, they are sold by the square. There is no grout in between each square.

I not only went back and read the readme file, but I did the research on the web. All the tutorials that say to use 256 X768 are using Pain Shop Pro. I Use Photoshop 7. I have both programs so I speak from experience when I say PS does not have the pixleation problems that occure with PSP.

If you don't like the walks, all I can say is don't use them.
I am going to quote the readme file that comes with the game, and this will be the last time I respond to your complaints.

To get you started, we've included a template BMP for each kind of content. All BMPs must have a width or height less than 65,536 pixels and be larger than 1 pixel by 1 pixel.
* Wall Coverings -- BMPs should be in 24 or 32 bit color. Wall coverings should be twice as tall as they are wide, and the dimensions should be in powers of 2. For example, a good wall proportion is 256x512.
* Flooring -- BMPs should be in 24 or 32 bit color. The dimensions for floor tiles should be square in proportion, and in powers of 2. For example, 256x256, or 512x512.
* Ground Cover -- BMPs should be in 24 or 32 bit color. The dimensions should be in powers of 2. (For example, 256x256). Please note that the 3D Preview window and the game mirror the texture when applying it to the ground.

Thank you to all that have downloaded my walls.
