It has become somewhat typical for me to take on huge building projects. With this house, I started doing the exterior without any specific plan for what I was building. I got a tad bit carried away, and the house just so happens to be gigantic The house is built around the huge great room, which you can see from the back of the home. I love the wood and stone on the exterior, and had a lot of fun doing the gardens and placing all the trees. Now, this lot will probably lag quite a bit, but you can delete some of the landscaping to make it a bit faster.

Layout:

-Great room
-Oversized foyer/entry
-Kitchen
-Dining room
-Study
-Game room/loft
-4 bedrooms
-4.5 bathrooms
-2 car garage
-Swimming pool
-LOTS of patio space

I really hope yall enjoy this home as much as I did building it

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Beautiful natural woods make this a truly lovely country manor! By the way, I just read your tutorial on building roofs using cfe. I found it very helpful. Thank you so much!

Thanks guys! And dragonhanz, you wont be able to make a basement in this house as it does not sit on a foundation.

Believe it or not, I'm actually working on a project entitled "Wooded Retreat." Would you mind at all if I kept the name, it being so close to yours?

Nice job, by the way.

@ Cokebuilder, I know that but when I try to make a pool or a basement the game shuts off. Is this just me?

the way to solve the problem of not being able to alter the pool or make a new 1 is go into edit towm mode and place the house on an empty plot and then use the hammer tool to delete the pool. then leave edit town mode and save game then make a copy of the house minus the pool by clickin on the house icon above the house you placed and choose save copy to library once that is done use the hammer tool to delete the house from the plot of land then save again when that is done place the new house minus the pool and then you can edit/make pool as big or small as you want.

hope that helps.

i have had loads of houses with the same problem and that solution above works everytime.
