This lot is based on this house.

This house comes in two versions : one furnished and one unfurnished.
The furnished version is fully furnished and the unfurnished version comes only with the outside lamps, the alarms, the built-in-closets and some decorative items.

The Nature Haven is a little victorian house nestled in a forest of pine trees perfect for a young couple with one or two children or an old couple that often has the visit of their grand children. It's a paradise for nature-oriented sims who love fishing, gardening or simply spending time outdoor.

The house features an inviting open-living space on the first floor divided between a cosy livingroom, a large kitchen and a beautiful diningroom that can sit 8 persons. There is also a complete bathroom on this floor.

Upstairs, you will find the master bedroom connected to the bathroom by a walk-in-closet ; a complete bathroom with a shower and a tub and two additional rooms that can be used as you please. One of them comes furnished as a study but can easily be converted into a nursery or another bedroom.

The furniture is classic and stylish without being old-fashioned or over-ornate and the color scheme is mostly in creme with blotches of red here and there to remind the façade of the house.

In the frontyard there is a driveway covered by an arch carport and in the backyard there are a greenhouse for harvesting and a deck that overhangs above a large pond for fishing enshrouded by a little forest.

Bushes and plants were placed using the cheat codes "moveobjects on" ; "boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation true" and "boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false" so I recommend having a garden hack if you don't want your gardener to go crazy. You can use the Perfect Plants by Simbology

In this thread, you will find :

- a .RAR containing the unfurnished version of the house with one Maxis/EA recolor

- another .RAR for the furnished version + a file containing several Maxis/EA recolors

- and a final .RAR for a file named "Clutter" that contains all the decorative items that I used but that are not really necessary such as the curtains, the flowers, the pillows etc. You can choose not to download it without it having any real effect in the game. In that case, note that all theses objects will be replaced by Maxis/EA objects.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I just downloaded the unfurnished version.

For me, the furnished version having a singular colour scheme would drive me mad with wanting to paint and replace everything. I'm one of those people who believe each room should have a life of it's own and that colour is what brings a room to life. While I can imagine using one of the colours in every room, I can't imagine every room having the same colours. But, I know there are many people out there who love the idea of matching everything.

The house has a lot of character (as does your European lot) and I think furnishing it would be nice (so I'm glad you offered an unfurnished version). I also love how spacious it is and the layout.

Thanks for sharing this!

Hi !

Sorry for not responding earlier, I couldn't. I'm glad that you liked this house and thank you for downloading it and leaving a comment.

I understand your point of view about the colour scheme even if I don't agree with you. I'm one of those people who likes matching colours everywhere. I don't really mind if a house that I want to download doesn't have matching colours but in this case I will try and download an unfurnished version of it if I can. If not, I will download it but generally I will unfurnish it myself. When I say "colour scheme" it doesn't necessarily mean exactly the same colours everywhere, like I did in this house, but it's more about the same range of colours.

The thing that I don't like and that I tried to avoid at all costs is the mixing of different styles. (I don't really know if it's the right word...) For exemple : A moroccan couch in the classic victorian house.

Any way thank you very much for downloading and I hope that you'lll have fun furnishing this house and playing with it.

Happy simming !

We are so opposites in our design concepts. I'm not so much into period matching either...not in real life. I love to mix and match things in a way that works and is pleasing to the eyes. I guess I would call it Stylish Ecclectic. It's actually not an easy style to make look good I'm afraid as what some people call "ecclectic" I call gaudy, mix-matched and sometimes just plain cluttered. I don't mind overlapping period or style pieces, colours, etc. but it has to work together. I like complimentary colours, but I also like colours that are on opposite ends of a colour spectrum. I guess for me it's all about the way a house speaks to me. If I start with furniture, then the house takes on a totally different design.

At any rate...thanks for responding to my comment and also for sharing BOTH versions of the house. I shall thoroughly enjoy the unfurnished version I downloaded and making it my own. Thank you again for the lot. I shall leave you in peace now.
