Totally Plastered: The Muted Reds

Three red families down, two to go. Then on to the oranges, the yellows, the greens, the blues, and the purples... *dies* Anyway...

In this download and in its eventual 29 "sister" downloads, you will find a ton of plaster walls. More than you will ever want/need, guaranteed. I didn't originally make these for The Sims. I made them for an architectural drafting program. But it wasn't hard to convert them, and I actually ended up finding them useful. I figured that I might as well share, in case anyone else might find any of them useful.

So...I will eventually give you 1,620 colors of Valdspar Paint's Ultra Premium line. The colors are on a fairly subtle plaster texture created from sampling photos of the walls of my living room. I'll be uploading the colors in their color families, which consist of 54 colors each. There will eventually be 30 downloads, for a total of, as I said, 1,620 colors. (Whew!) This download will give you the 54 members of the Muted Red family, consisting mostly of dusty purples, pinks, and plums with some red/purple-browns.

I have set up this download (and will set up the others to come) in the way that I use these walls, personally. You can download all of the colors in the family if you happen to want all of them for some insane reason. But more practically, you can selectively download them in far more useful "color cards" of six colors each. The colors on a given card are related to each other and therefore work well together. (With the exception of Card 9 in each set, which in real life are meant to be accent colors. For Sims purposes, I think they tend to look nice as exterior colors, if you like dark, rich exterior colors.) Each rar file also contains a collection file for those colors that are included in that particular download, so that you can find these easily when you want them. The "All Colors" download contains a collection file for all 54 of the colors together, but I've also included the collection files for the individual color cards as well, so that you can find them that way, too. So in that download, there are a total of 10 collection files included in addition to the 54 walls. The other downloads only have the collection file for that particular color card. (NOTE: The collection files go in your "Collections" folder, NOT your "Downloads" folder!)

So, here are the "color cards" for the Muted Reds:

To give you an idea of how these walls look in-game, here is one of the colors "in action" on a dummy wall:

(More similar pics are attached below. Sorry, but I'm not about to make pics of all 54 colors.)

Enjoy!

Yay, more plasters! Great job as usual. You know, I'm going to end up with all 1,600+ recols in my game, because it's just impossible to choose - they're all gorgeous.

Oh, have I told you how great it is that they have collection files? (Then again, you know I love collection files.) It makes them all a lot easier to handle.

Heh. Yeah, 1600 colors without collection files, especially because some of the colors are not very different from each other would be pretty...unwieldy.

Geez, even I don't keep all these colors in my game! I only put them in if I know I'm going to be using them and even then I only put in the cards that I've decided that I think will be useful for a given lot. And I generally don't like the brights at all, except for a few colors here and there, so those hardly ever go in. My faves are the shaded and neutral colors. The shaded reds will be up next, and then the neutral reds. Then it's on to the oranges.

I'm glad you're enjoying these. They ARE pretty, and they've actually inspired me to do some pretty creative things in building and decorating, and that's always a good thing.
