This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Build your own cage kit. Comes with cage bars, cage corners, cage ceiling, and cage “door.” Find in Build Mode – Miscellaneous – Columns.

The door does not function as a door – it can’t be opened. (Several boring reasons why – I’ll explain if anyone wants to know) Whatever Sim you put in the cage stays in the cage until you move a section to let them out, or else leave one section out to start with.
Objects that need to be placed along a wall (like toilets) need to be placed using the “moveobjects on” cheat. (Ctrl-Shift-C then type moveobjects on, then Enter, Esc.)
The cage ceiling tiles are a little tricky to place, since they had to be offset slightly to match up with the cage walls.

Anyone who wants to try improving these cage objects and repost, please feel free. Just give me a mention.

UPDATE: These objects will now also show up in buy mode/decorative/all and buy mode/miscellaneous/all.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

deadly_love - In answer to your question, a real door needs to be assigned to a wall and the bars are not a wall. Also, walls go along the edge of a tile, whereas these bars go in the center of a tile. So even if you put up one section of wall and put a door in it, it wont be lined up with the rest of the cage. Also, for a door to animate properly, you have to keep the existing vertices. The cage door is a whole new set of vertices.
If I really wanted to, I could rework the bars so they go along the edge of a tile, make them as tall as a wall, raise the ceiling tiles to match the height of the bars, and recolor a regular door to make it look like shiny metal, so that one could put a one tile width of wall with a door in it that would line up along the sides and top of the bars. But, after I got this far, I had to ask myself what good is a cage that someone can stroll out of whenever they want, anyway? So I left it as is.

wow, thats so cool. i think it should just use a gate, it would be easier, but you couldn't get it to fit.
