New career: Author (requested)

As I do take requests, Alicey requested the career Author. You can always PM me to change anything of the career (hours, wages,…).

As I have made this career the way Alicey requested, there are no chancecards.
You may request chancecards for this career (by filling out my chancecardform) and I will add them.

The spelling and grammar have been checked by the spellingchecker in Office Word 2007 and on this site: www.spellchecker.net/spellcheck (recommended by the mods on MTS)
But if you see any spelling/grammar error, let me know and I will change it.

The wages are within the minimum and maximum range of the wages of the 25 Maxis careers.
Everyday outfit means you can choose the outfit yourself cause there wasn’t anything suitable available by Maxis.

As I feel giving all the information about the career is a spoiler, I hide it behind the button (I have permission of a moderator to do so):

Credits go to:
SimPe, Photoshop, Alicey

Have fun!

Age: Adult
Career Type: Realistic

Great idea! Sometimes it would be nice to have Simmies go somewhere to write and have a pay scale that varies more than when they just bang away at their computers. I like the labels and the descriptions of the levels too.

One thing that seems a little odd is that the take home pay peaks at level 8:

Level 8) $1080 x 4 = $4320
Level 9) $1125 x 3 = $3375
Level 10) $2675 x 1 = $2675

Of course, as your level 10 description said, they mostly work from home then. So, are they working less at work and earning less too, so then they earn it back by writing novels at home?

That's cause they work less days. That's with other (Maxis) careers too if you do the math like that. It's because you have to look at the wages per day. Not per week to compare them.
It has nothing to do with this specific career.

Well, at the top level, with only working one day a week there is plenty of time to write on their own and earn more money that way.

That's specific for this career and your own choice. Not all players will let their sims do that if they chose this career for them.
But have fun playing it like this. It's a great idea!

Forget my sims, I want this career. Which generally means my sims will probably need to get it. Thanks for this.

YES! At last, an author career arises from the depths of creation! I am so happy! Ha, ha! Me being a novelist and all...and having my Sim self working at a job that's just not for her, I am -super- relieved and glad that now she can dump that job and follow her true, favourite job -- her destiny! Yesh! ^-^ *bows* I thank you ten-fold, friend.

@VerDeTerre: I wanted it so that they could make enough money to get by just by going to work, but as they moved up the ranks and were working from home they would still have to write a lot of novels to make what they were making before :D

This is way better than having Sims type non-stop on their computers for two days. And its paid! Now my sims are rich.

Hi! Great career, just wondering before I download it if it overwrites any existing career? Thanks

I can't thank you enough for making this! I'm an artist AND a writer, so naturally I would want my Simself to be the same. However, she could only be an artist (since I'm not into journalism, which would be the closest thing to an author), so THIS is what I've been waiting for!
