Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
At Autumn Winds we take pride in our comfortable and loving environment with stain resistant carpets and double glazed windows. Now elderly loved ones can be independent yet cared for.

The Rooms

The home has five bedrooms, 3 double and 2 single. Each room has its own private bathroom and comfy seating area with a bookcase and television.
Privacy is assured with lockable doors.

Mahjong, 'Bingo', 2 hot tubs, 2 chess sets and 3 easels and a piano.
There is room for a bird cage or a fish tank or some kind of pet. (not included)

"Please be careful of the stain resistant carpet Mrs Atrich!"

Dining room overlooking the fountain
Public toilets

"Eegads Mrs Atrich!"
"What?! I'm recycling the air!"

I needed a small retirement home for my integrated hood, so I decided to make this cc free to make this easy to download.
This is best played with a care taker who uses one of the rooms. They can lock the office for themselves to keep residents and visitors out.
The care taker does the cooking with the elders keeping their own room’s tidy, unless you have a mod that allows NPC’s to entre. Elders need to lock their doors to keep their rooms private with couples taking one door each. If you only have single elders simply take away the second door on the double rooms. The play tested copy is not the uploaded lot. The uploaded lot has not had sims moved in.

Lot Size: 3x3
Lot Price: $185,098

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Thanks for making sure the carpets are stain-resistant. I can't quite tell if it's the residents or the caretaker's home cooking, but clearly, they're going to be needing practical carpets.

Got to have those stain resistant carpets. The care taker is Cassandra Goth so quite a change for her. Not that she knows that she is a clone.

Does this work as an apartment, a dorm, or something? Is the price a 'buy' price or a 'rent' price? Sorry for the silly question!

Edit: Nevermind, I saw the price, so I'm guessing this is the 'buy' price. It's a bit too much for my elders, even if they all came in with 20.000$ they still couldn't afford this

It's a residential lot so the price is to buy it. The dorm doors are so residents have private rooms. Sims claim a door and their portrait appears and they can lock it just like they do on a dorm, only sims don't disappear into their rooms. You could swap them out for apartment doors and change the rooms into separate apartment units if you want.

The elder's aren't meant to buy it a caretaker does. The elders just get moved in and choose a room. The care taker is there to cook and look after the place.

Hmm. I'm not really into the idea of a caretaker, but I really want a retirement home and this one is so pretty, so I'll guess I'll just try out those mortgage shrubs from Simlogical and pretend that paying back the mortgage is the 'rent' for the rooms. Anyways, this looks really nice and I'm looking forward to playing it
