Hey all! Maybe someone can help me too.. I see you are on vacation until the end of the month, so I'll patiently wait for an answer.
I'm not sure what/how, but everytime I package a lot, I THOUGHT I was only using the Maxis wooden stairs, but it shows a game object, numenors wooden recolorable stairs..
OK, NP. I did get them. But I can't find them in my downloads folder... I want to delete them, so I can get no game objects in my packaged lots... I've looked under numenor, wooden, stairs, everything I could think of.
I even did a search on my computer for numenor, and all I got was the cash register training I have installed... Any help to be had?
Please ignore! I went back, too a photo of Clean Installer to add here, and what it showed.. Well, I saw the actual package name that way, and found it in my folder. Problem solved, sorry....

I've used these stairs since they came out with no problem. HOWEVER, I've installed the new Kitchens and Baths SP and now they are "not designable." Is there some problem with the new sp? Or is it fixable? Thanks!

Forget it! Now it works - don't know why it didn't before!! Thanks!

I have this problem also.Since I installed Apartment life they no longer work for me.

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over

I tested them and they work in my AL game. I can only suggest to check if you really have the file "Numenor_DeckStairs_main.package" in your Downloads, and that custom content is properly activated in your game.

As a further test, you could create a subfolder named "zzzz" in your Downloads, and put there the file "Numenor_DeckStairs_main.package"; this way, the file will be loaded after all the other donloaded packaged: if there is another object that conflicts with my one, my stairs will "take the precedence". If using this trick the stairs become recolourable, then you should search *what* other downloaded object is conflicting with mine (it can only be a custom modular stair not properly created).

PS: you have downloaded the version updated in February 2007, haven't you?

I know that some steps, namely the topmost and the lowes ones, are hard to recolour: you should rotate the view and zoom in until you can finally operate the Design Tool over the step. But the middle steps should be easily recolourable...
Do you see the message "This object can't be recoloured"?

Firstly Numenor I thank you for having such incredible work.

I added the numenor_DeckStairs_main package to download folder as you suggested. I ran SimPE for a duplicate GUID scan in the downloads folder and the package is showing up as a duplicate in my TSData folder. So SimPE says I have one in my TSdata and one in Downloads.

Since you said it is an original maxis object and it overrides the original when placed in the download folder, is it bad to have this duplicate GUID in my game?

I am uncertain why it is showing up in my TSData folder if I scanned only in downloads folder but that is what SimPE is showing.

Any help appreciated

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to come to with this but I have nowhere else and seeing this is where the gods reside... Sooo, I have these modular stairs (not these, or any other ones here give me grief) and they override Maxis modular stairs because no script was provided with them. Now, I don't like that, so I'm wondering is there any way to create a script file for those stairs because I can't seem to get a hold of the creator. I can't use any helpful tools, because I'm on a Mac. Hopefully there is something I can do nonetheless.

I'm wondering exactly the same thing (I wonder if it's the same stairs we are having problems with, Clarina) - try as I might, I can't find any instructions anywhere on how to create your own script for modular stairs and I would like to be able to, if only to fix stairs that override Maxis stairs when they shouldn't.

Thanks for the download, and thank you for the picture of the stairs with the landing. I've been trying to figure out how to do that, and with your clear pictures, I can now.
