Default Comm Lots: Pleasantview Boutique and Therein Bookstore
Pleasantview Boutique (was 330 Main Street)
4 x 2 corner community lot (used to be 5x2)
§102,447

Let's get things started with the Community Lots! First up is Pleasantview Boutique, 330 Main Street. You should recognize it's tall tower of a sign that has only been superficially updated. Originally it had a few clothing racks and large bathrooms, and a parking lot. The lot has been converted to a hair salon (main floor) and cosmetic surgery office (second floor). Out on the terrace you can purchase drinks or coffee. We still have bathrooms and ample parking, and now it's being used thanks to Mog's Parking Lot Mod. Being on a corner, it commands the attention of anyone driving or walking down Main Street. This is prime real estate!

Right next to Pleasantview Boutique is the old 3-in-1 Bookstore, now cleverly renamed to Therein Bookstore. (Numbers are ugly in names). Parking as been added, and the entire floorplan has been reworked to include employee only areas. This lot will work well as an owned lot. Reading areas are in the front, and you can buy coffee while you browse and read. We also sell newspapers and magazines.

Default Comm Lots: Pluto's Pet Park and Pepper's Pets
Pluto's Pet Park (was Planetary Pet Park)
4 x 3 community lot
§40,746

Continuing down the street you will come to Pluto's Pet Park. The restrooms have been renovated and the picnic area has been cleaned up. All of the food bowls are full, so if you can't afford to feed your poor doggy, bring him here for a bit and he won't starve. This is the lot I'm least happy with, I didn't do much to it except the bathrooms and figure out how to have full food bowls. Oh well.

Across the street is Pepper's Pets. This is not to be confused with Pepe's Pets. Pepper's Pets is FULLY stocked of everything you'd ever need as a pet owner. She sells dogs and cats, and (if you run this as an owned lot) womrats, birds, and exotic fish, and all the supplies you'd need to take care of all of them. Unfortunately, this lot is rather a dud unless you have it owned. Too many things aren't sellable by default. It still looks awesome though! This might be the first time I have ever used the tiger striped wallpaper and not instantly hated the decision.

Default Comm Lots: Woodland Park and Cafe Petite
Woodland Park (was Woodland Park)
5 x 5 community lot
§49,587

On the little side street off Main we have Cafe Petite and in the center of town is Woodland Park. Woodland Park's entrance is actually on Main Street. The bathrooms have been renovated, as well as the chess area, the gazebo, and picnic area. Near the picnic area a treehouse has been added. A fishing pier is near the front (note: sims won't actually fish from the pier, silly sims), across the bridge is a new playground area, and continuing around the pond is a new diving dock. Much of the lake has been made swimable thanks to the idea I got from CatherineTCJD's reno'd version of this lot.

Cafe Petite (was Cafe Petite)

§44,211

After drying off from your swim, head across the street to Cafe Petite. Cafe Petite capitalizes on its high traffic lot and offers small meals as well as drinks and expresso. Many sims stop by to work on term papers, or chill with their friends. It's a very relaxed environment. This lot works equally as is, or when being owned. If you run this lot, the items in the DecraChill cases become sellable.

Default Comm Lots: Pleasantview Grocer & Take Out and Sporty Shack Sports Pub
Pleasantview Grocer & Take Out was 290 Main Street
5 x 2 corner community lot
§113,833

Caddy-corner to the park is Pleasantview Grocer & Take Out or the old 290 Main Street. The old video game store that used to be on the right hand side building had to close its doors and the two take-out joints have divided the place and set up shop. Isn't it weird that your sims can order Chinese food and pizza and neither is actually anywhere in Pleasantview? Now both our delivery food options have actual brick and mortar stores in Pleasantview, and they share their delivery people with the local Grocer. The Chinese place is a real sit down restaurant, or you can order from the rice bar. The pizza place serves pizza by the slice.

The courtyard used to feature a magazine seller, but she has rented space inside the grocery store near the check out lines and the courtyard is now being occupied by a newsgirl and a coffee barista. The parking lot used to be on the left, but now it is on the right and the lot is now a corner lot. This lot works well enough on its own, especially if you like free pizza! As an owned lot, you'll have the ability to actually charge for your pizzas rather than just giving them away. The grocer side works significantly better as an owned lot because there are many 'deco' items that you can sell, including an entire florist section of the store.

Sporty Shack Sports Pub (was Sporty Shack)
4 x 3 community lot (was 3 x 2 residential)
§88,281

Behind the Grocer is Sporty Shack Sports Pub. It was, as you can guess, the old FT Sporty Shack residence. It proved to be much too big as a house, particularly one trying to pass as a 'shack', so now it is a sports pub. Downstairs is small dining area next to the main TV and bar. Behind that is a small arcade area, darts, and the restrooms. Outside is a porch and on the lawn is a bonfire area, with a view of the pond. In the front is the kitchen. Upstairs is another bar and a covered patio. This lot works equally well by default or owned. As an owned lot, you might also include a ticket machine to charge for all the time spent watching the game, but perhaps you'll make enough on the drinks alone.

Default Comm Lots: Pleasantview Pool and Fitness and Rapid Racers Roller Rink
Pleasantview Pool and Fitness (was BV Mansion)
5 x 4 community lot (used to be 5 x 3 residential)
§220,654

Back on Main Street just past the Grocer is the Pleasantview Pool and Fitness. This is my personal favorite renovation. This lot used to be the entirely unusable BV Mansion. I did not change the foundation plans at all. This 'house' really was this big! I did add the basement and the second floor, but still. Just past the front desk is the spinning class area and also weights machines. There are plenty of cubies to stash your street clothes and shoes and bags if you don't want to rent a day locker downstairs. In the main gym is a basketball court with bleachers on the side. Sim State uses our gym for their college games. Above the basketball court is a raised running track. In the corners are also treadmills.

Back downstairs and to the back is the pool. We have an indoor-outdoor pool that is separated on cold and bad weather days by a garage door. We've been having a bit of trouble with the door sticking, so you might want to avoid the pool on those types of days just as a precaution, or not. In fact, we've hosted a few polar bear plunges in the past few seasons! The outdoor pool area has access to our outdoor basketball practice courts. These aren't regulation for a full game, but they work quite well for a game of HORSE. We also have foursquare, ask the front desk for a ball or bring your own.

Back underneath the main gym is where the locker rooms are. In the locker rooms are lockers (of course), the restrooms, and the showers. Out in the hallway are additional lockers and vending machines. To the left is our dance studio, and to the right is the weights and wrestling room. We have a boxing ring, multiple punching bags, and for the ultimate test of body skills, a 'dance sphere'. This lot has a ticket machine for those of you who want to run the gym, but it's fine without it. The cashiers will be crazy bored but that doesn't matter.

Rapid Racers Roller Rink (was Rapid Racers Roller Rink)

§105,397

Across the street is Rapid Racers Roller Rink. This lot has had a bit of a face lift. The front arcade area has been reworked and a small dining area was added so hungry skaters don't have to leave. In the back is a prize section and the restrooms. Prizes are not actually redeemable unless the lot is owned, and then you can sell them. On the side of the building is a RC car racing strip. First one to get their car to cross the balloons is the winner. It's harder than you think, but it is possible. The cars will stay inside the track, but they only go so far on each go. For those placing bets on the race winner, psst, pick the original RC car!

H&M Pleasantview (was H&M Pleasantview)
5 x 4 corner community lot (used to be 4 x 3)
§181,253

Last but not least are the two lots on the edge of town. H&M Pleasantivew has had its parking lot expanded. Inside we still do fashion shows, but now the facilities are much improved for the shows. We have backstage dressing areas, a stock room, employee lounge, and manager's office. Out on the main floor we have expanded our racks and updated the dressing rooms. Both the men's and women's dressing rooms feature full length wall mirrors and places for your shopping buddies to sit while you admire yourself in the mirror. The bathrooms are also conveniently located in each dressing room. This lot works well on its own, but it works better as an owned lot, as you can employ sales people to walk the floor, and you can set more items for sale.

Harmonious Haven Spa Resort (was Harmonious Haven)
3 x 3 community lot (used to be residential)
§96,670

As a spa retreat, it is the farthest out on the first road in from Pleasantview, it's up near the beach. Harmonious Haven Spa Retreat was originally a residential lot that came with Seasons. It had this weird little pool in the middle of the house. It makes so much more sense now as a community lot. Inside is a pool and sauna, outside is hot springs, mah-jong and tea tables, and a zen garden. Inside and to the right is an exotic eatery. Upstairs are massage tables, the restrooms with showers, and the managers's office. By itself this lot will make no money for itself, and if you don't care about imaginary sim economies, that's ok. If you prefer that the lot earn its keep, it will need to be owned so the ticket machine will charge the spa clients for their time.

Default Apt Lot: New Turf Apartments
New Turf Apartments (was Teenage Turf)
3 x 2 apartment lot used to be 3 x 3 residential
§84,134

Next let's have the apartment lots! As a new sim just starting out, the community council of Pleasantview recognizes New Turf Apartments as the best bang for your buck. The rent is the cheapest you'll find anywhere, just north of $1000 a week, but that doesn't mean the apartment is dingy or lacking. Each one bedroom unit has a small but serviceable kitchen with eating area, a small living room with office, a balcony, roomy bedroom and closet, and a full bathroom with shower/tub combo. In the basement are storage lockers but no one ever uses them, and laundry. While you wait for your laundry to finish, we have vending machines and chess and checkers tables.

Out in the backyard is a bubble blower, and on the other side is a small grill out party area. While each unit comes with two parking spaces, you are close to the commercial part of town and often times your parking spots will get taken. This lot was originally TSS's Teenage Turf. I've retained the original blueprint, and added the basement and upper floor. Additionally, the flat roof was kept, and many of the interior walls were kept and replicated. Most of the furnishings were replaced with the cheaper IKEA SP items, to help keep the rent down.

Known Issue: When you move in a sim, and the entire lot appears to sink, don't panic. Return to the neighborhood and pick up and immediately place down again the lot. Do not move it to the lots bin. This should fix the issue. This is a well known bug dealing with apartment lots built on not entirely flat lots. As this lot has a basement, it is affected.

Default Apt Lot: Pleasantview Towers
Pleasantview Towers was 250 Main Street
5 x 3 corner apartment lot (used to be community)
§191,033

Another good starting spot for your new sims is Pleasantview Towers. These apartments are more upscale, but still relatively cheap, with the rent being between $1,500 and $2000 a week. The four units are all slightly different, but very similar. The two on the longer side of the building are larger and can accommodate couples, while the two facing Main street work better as singles, though if you have an inaccessible bed hack, they all work for couples. The two end units have an extra half bath and large family room. The corner units' family rooms are a bit squished from having to share the middle tower. Each unit also has their own laundry in the basement. Outside, residents have access to the pool and to a campfire area. Parking is on the southern street and each unit gets two spots. Again, our apologies for others parking in your spot, it really can't be helped. I got the idea to convert this lot to apartments from KalisaSims.

Default Apt Lot: Wright Way Home
Wright Way Home was 210 Wright Way
5 x 5 apartment lot (used to be 5 x 4 residential)
§200,450

Is your house too big now that you're an elder and all your kids have grown up and moved out? Is it lonely? Come join us at Wright Way Home, an independent living facility for elders. We try not to gouge our residents so the weekly rent is between $1,300 and $1,500 depending on the unit. We do not charge extra for spouses or pets. The entire building is wheel chair accessible thanks to the handicap ramp and building elevators. On the main level is the common area, we have all sorts of activities to occupy your time with, from pool to poker, to the ever popular Myshuno! In the back is the banquet room and we generally keep it set up with Mahjong and Don't Wake the Llama tables. The kitchen and laundry is to the left.

Outside we have a covered patio for entertaining, and a few short easy steps out into the yards is our mini golf course. Further in the back is the gazebo with tea table. Each unit has two parking spaces allotted, though our residents don't tend to be very good at remembering whose space is whose, and occasionally the nursers and staff parking overflows into that parking lot. Don't worry about it, we'll call you a taxi, you've earned it. Each unit has a open floor plan to accommodate any disability. The two front units have round tower rooms, and the two units in back have balconies. Each apartment has a master suite, and a guest half bath. As I'm sure you can tell, this used to be 210 Wright Way. I've flattened the edges so no worries there, and expanded the lot while I was at it. This one was fun, and I'll *finally* be able to have someone move into this lot! I've never had a sim family who could afford the original mansion version of it before.

Default Apt Lot: Forsythe Place
Forsythe Place (was Forsythe Place)
5 x 3 apartment lot (used to be residential)
§147,710

This lot came with GLS. It was laid out so strangely, that it was just begging to become a duplex. As apartments, this lot is still as glamorous as it was originally, and the rent of $3,825 reflects that. The units are divided by a hallway so neither unit will hear noise from the other. The kitchens are in the front, and a dining area to the back, past that is a formal living room, and the spiral stairs to the upstairs. Continuing back, each unit has a hobby room. One is for music, song, and dance, the other is for art, photography, and drafting. Upstairs is a small reading nook and access to the raised patio, where there are deck chairs and a very good (and weatherproof) stereo. The bathroom connects to the reading area. Going down to the basement, there is a large open space for whatever your sim would like to put down there, as well as a half bath, and a laundry/utility room.

Default Apt Lot: Beau Ville Estates
Beau Ville Estates (was BV Estate)
4 x 3 corner apartment lot (used to be 2 x 3 residential)
§167,901

The final apartment lot the new Pleasantview provides is the recently converted Beau Ville Estates. You'll recognize it as that strangely shaped, blindingly white, tropical, and poorly laid out, monstrosity from BV, cleverly named BV Estate. As you might guess, I severely disliked this lot originally. As apartments though, it is significantly more usable. Garages were added to the lower two units, and the attic space was fully utilized. There are three units in this apartment lot. They are accessed from a small lobby between the two buildings on the driveway side.

The front building is an entire unit, with a living room, kitchen, and garage on the first floor, a family room, master bedroom suite, and nursery on the second floor, and two bedrooms and a bathroom in the attic space on the third floor. The back and larger building has two units. The lower unit has a garage, kitchen, guest bath, and living room on the first floor, and the upstairs contains the master bedroom suite, main bathroom, and two twin bedrooms. The third unit occupies the double roof space of the back building. It has a kitchen, living room, and full bath on it's lower level, and a small bedroom on the top floor. Both lower units have balconies and patios. Additional outdoor space is utilized with a small playground, swimming pool, and cookout space.

Default Res Lots: Hearty Home, Family Farmhouse, and Friendly Firmament
Now we are at the residential lots! Hang on tight, cuz there are 35 of them!

Hearty Home (was Hearty Home)
5 x 4 residential lot
§93,856

Moving from left to right on Main Street, the first house we come across is the Hearty Home. Hearty Home originally shipped with Seasons, and it's always been such a mess I almost didn't include it. I was thoroughly inspired by Twoflower's take on it, showing me that this house in fact did have a way to become a real house. I admit to emulating her exterior styling, because it's exactly what this house needed. Additionally, I included a garage barn out back, I did not include a greenhouse, I did add a swimable lake and dock, then I rounded the bridge more, dug out a root cellar, and enlarged the available attic space. Inside, we both took very different paths for doing the floor plans and for decorating. Also, the lot was significantly enlarged and set back more from the road than it was originally. In my game, this house is currently empty, but it is just waiting for that perfect rural family of five to open up a small sewing shop.

Family Farmhouse (was Family Farmhouse))
4 x 4 corner residential lot
§81,351

The second house is Family Farmhouse which was an original Pleasantview bin house. I didn't change much on the exterior of the house, but I did redo the entire interior, add a greenhouse, play area, and driveway. The house has also had a basement root cellar dug out and the attic space was enlarged. This house was decorated very seasony. The lot was also enlarged and was given it's corner-ness. In my game this house belongs to Kaylynn the ex-maid; after a lackluster relationship with Daniel Pleasant, she moved out on her own and now is applying to be a foster mom. Being 'in the system' herself, she knows only too well how easily kids can get lost and wants to help as many as she can to graduate high school. This is why the double bed (hers) is in a smaller bedroom, and why there are so many other single beds. You can easily rearrange the rooms if you have a multi-generational family, or just want the parents to have the master.

Friendly Firmament (was Family Firmament)
3 x 2 residential lot
§53,804

Further down this street is the Friendly Firmament. Weird name, but whatever. This house was all kinds of a mess. The biggest change came from leveling the ancient Indian bural mound or whatever it was supposed to be, adding a driveway and garage, and moving the yard to the other side of the house. Aesthetically speaking, a bigger change came from adding the porch, putting up the green siding, and putting in windows in sensible places, but I'll let you decide what had the biggest impact on 'fixing' this house.

This is the soon to be new house for Dirk and Lilith Dreamer and their triplet boys. After Darren married Cassandra, they moved, leaving Dirk's childhood home empty. After college, Dirk and Lilith bought the house and started their family. Things got started a bit faster than expected when they had triplets. Lilith wasn't too surprised to later hear that her sister Angela was also expecting triplets, apparently multiples run in the family. Now that the boys are toddlers, they are getting too big for that little house and it's time for the young family to move. As one of the few four bedroom houses, this is perfect for them. Also, the boys are showing an interest in sports, so the soccer goal in the yard is a big plus.

Default Res Lots: Victorian Value and Small Home
Victorian Value (was Victorian Value)
3 x 3 corner residential lot
§98,985

Back on Main Street is a lovely yellow Victorian home. While it did retain it's original color scheme, I also got some great ideas from Pippenhouse's Victorian Value renovation. I liked how the deck was handled and how the windows were bumped out. I've added a garage and a cute fence around entire lot. In the back is a lovely fountain. A basement has been dug out and while it isn't the coziest, it is dry, so you have a laundry area and a tv / workout area. On the main floor, the kitchen and dining room have swapped places. Upstairs has been rearranged a bit as well. Two bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and the master now has an en-suite.

Across the street is NL's Small Home. The exterior and the floor plan have not changed much in this house. The big change comes from having a daylit basement added. In the basement is a guest room, a bathroom, and a rec area with tv, toys, and a workout bike. The lot itself was also changed; it became a corner lot, and the backyard was extended. In my game this house was Dina and Michael Bachel(or)'s house. She was able to resurrect him and they had a daughter, and she grew up to a child before he once again was taken. After Michael died the second time, Dina and her daughter moved to a house with Nina and her kids. Both Dina and Nina agree, it's hard being a single parent.

Cape Cod Classic (was Cape Cod Classic)
3 x 3 residential lot
§65,589

Just a few steps down the street and you arrive at the Cape Code Classic. This original bin house has always been pretty useful, if a bit strange. I've enlarged the attic and dug out a daylit basement. The upstairs now has two bedroom and four bathrooms, which is still a bit strange for a layout. In my game, this house is home to a family of seven, with four kids: two girls and two boys, so having the bathrooms arranged this way helps to cut down on traffic jams and kids in the wrong rooms. In the basement is now a tv room and play area, a reading den, and a guest room. The guest room is often used by the children's uncle, their dad's twin brother, who never married.

Next door is the Dreamer's house. After Darren married Cassandra and they moved to a house more fitting to her social status, and his house remained empty until Dirk came home from college with his blushing bride Lillith. Dirk and Lili recently started a family and their triplet boys are prompting them to once again find a new home. Who will live in the house now? A basement has been added with bathroom and laundry room. The lot is now also a corner lot. No first wives are, or ever were, buried on this lot. Burying people in the backyard is weird; they are not hamsters, and it is illegal now here in Pleasantview.

Cross the street and you are at NL's City House. Like many of the others, this house has had a daylit basement added. The downstairs layout hasn't changed much, but the upstairs received closets and an extra bathroom. The basement is fully finished and is quite a nice space for movie night or video games. There is also a full bath and laundry room. Brandi Brooke's youngest son, Skip Jr. and his wife live in this house with their brand new baby girl. Right next door is the very similar, NL Townhouse. This lot features a unique sunken driveway and walk out basement. This lot is great for a pair of roommates as it features two large bedrooms, both connecting to the full bathroom. The main floor has a large entertaining area indoors as well as out on the deck. The basement has a giant tv and karaoke machine. This house is where the party is at! In my game, sadly, no one is cool enough for this house yet, and it sits empty. How lame, right? In the version of the neighborhood with the playables in it, N464, I've put Nina and Dina here because their ugly house didn't get remade and I figured that was better than the bin.

Default Res Lots: The Trailer Park (5 Lots)
Purple Trailer (was 55 Woodland Drive)
3 x 2 corner residential lot
§24,273

Take a right and go past Pleasantview Towers and suddenly you're on the cheap side of town. Continue down the street and you'll find the road is lined with mobile homes. The first house on the corner is Dustin and Angela Brooke's house. Like her sister, Lilith, Angie also had triplets, but her set were girls. I've swapped out their three cribs for two single beds so you can see how to accommodate multiple kids in this one. Their trailer is the only one arranged to have both bedrooms large enough to fit double beds. This comes at the expense of the living room, but this strange layout is only in one trailer.

They are also the only ones with a pool. After a few years of lobbying, Brandi Brooke finally was able to get it into law that all swimming pools must be fenced in so no more mysterious pool accidents might occur. No one has yet found a link between having pools fenced-in and pool ladders suddenly not disappearing, but it was the best she could do, and that seemed to help her with the loss of her husband. All of the pools in Pleasantview, by law, are now fenced and gated.

The other four trailers are all copies of each other, with small changes. They each have their own color scheme, but the larger change is in the second bedroom's layout. Two of the closets are parallel to the trailer, and the other two are perpendicular. Also, two of the trailers have desks in those bedrooms, and the other two have a toy box. The idea is teens and kids. Two trailers also have junk cars on their driveways, they are the real steal! The original Pleasantview only had three trailers, but five looks much nicer on this street, and they were all identical anyways.

Continuing on this side of town, right across the street from Pleasantview Tower's parking lot, you have Cozy Co-op. This little house came with FFS and it's nowhere close to having family fun. I haven't done much to it, except add laundry, a closet, and utility room, and furnish it. I've added a driveway and outdoor entertaining patio area. This might be a nice starter for any sim who starts with just a tad more money than normal, or a nice retirement home for your bingo-going granny.

As there are plenty of other tiny houses in this hood, I tried to distinguish it by adding the color of the roof and the main decorating color. I think at this point I was tired of trying to come up with dumb names. Closets, laundry, and utilities were added to this two bedroom. This is also a lovely starter for a small family of slightly more than 20K.

Ranch Retreat (was Ranch Retreat)

§40,767

The last street you come to on your way out of Pleasantview is Oak Street. The first house on it is the Ranch Retreat. This is another of the houses that were inspired by a previous renovation. Ever since NL, I've been adding the all-too-easy garage on to this house, but it always looked terrible. When I saw Mynxie's idea to jut out the living room to match the front bedroom, inspiration struck. I didn't stick mine out quite as far, but it's there. Additionally, I biggered the attic to give the whole house more space with the addition of a loft. The bedroom now have extra high ceilings.

Past the last two houses and we are fully into the woods. The next house you'll see is a log cabin, BV's BV Home. Naming a house with initials is dumb, so I've taken a terrible guess at what the letters could stand for. I've made it into a log cabin, so Bare Verdant, striped trees are what log cabins are made of, and I'm going to stop explaining this before I get too lost in the woods. Getting back into the heart of Pleasantview, if you went north instead of south when you got to Pleasantview Towers, you'd go past the Grocer and on your right would be Sporty's. On your left is Haute Habitation. This FFS house has had a garage added, and a pool dug. Over the garage, are the master bedroom walk-in-closet and en suit bathroom. In my game, this is the Jennifer and John Burb's house, and in my game, they had three more children. Their oldest daughter has already graduated college and is married and living elsewhere. The two younger teen daughters share a large bedroom, and the baby of the family, the only son, has the smaller third bedroom. Jennifer Burb is the sitting Pleasantview Judge, and she was quite instrumental in the recent pool fencing law, and her own pool is no exception.

This lot was that crazy lot that looked like it had a cross on the roof. It was really only a weird fireplace/roof interaction, but that's still what it looked like to me and my sisters. This house is still in it's original position. It has had a garage, bonus room, and fenced pool added. Currently the Burb's oldest daughter and her husband own the house. They are planning to have kids some day, but both are currently very career orientated and as absentminded professors and scientists, they might forget until it is too late. Default Res Lots: Split Level and Double Decked
Split Level (was 170 Sim Lane)
3 x 3 corner residential lot
§68,079

Continuing westward, we come to the house across the street from the Goth Mansion. This is an original Pleasantview house (not from the Bin) in it's original location. I've never liked this house, and for the houses that I hate, I have to do the weirdest most interesting things to them so they can make it up to me. This house had a sunken kitchen in one of the first renovations I'd done to this house years ago, and the idea stuck. Now the house truly is a split level. The kitchen and basement are on the lower floor, and the living room and bedrooms are on the upper floor. The bedrooms are also raised above the main living area, but technically on the same level. The house was home to Alexander Goth's in-laws, before their daughter married and they moved to the retirement home. They are now getting up there in years, and that takes a toll on your knees. All these steps are a bit much for them. Outside is a patio with entertaining area and a fenced off pool.

§95,658

Next to the split level house is another Pleasantview original, and while it's technically in the same spot, I did rotate it to face the other road instead. This house has had it's famous double decker deck improved and added upon. As the house naturally sits on a hill, so it was easy to add a walkout basement. With it's large ugly roof, I tucked a sizeable attic underneath. A pool is in the enlarged backyard, and a detached garage is in the back as well. The reason I added so much to this house is because this house is hands down my favorite house. It's likely because I've played it the longest, and the first family that I really played with a bunch lives here. Brandi Brookes' second husband owned the home and it's where Beau and Skip Jr. and their four younger siblings grew up. After such a tragic beginning, I wanted to make it all better for Brandi so I gave her a prince charming and a lovely house. Brandi rolled a want to have six kids, so I let her. She might have been secretly trying for ten, but she is now an elder, and her youngest is a toddler. I told Brandi now that Dustin is having his own kids, she needs to stop. When she saw her adorable triplet baby granddaughters, she agreed. Also, unfortunately, Sgt. Price Charming doesn't make nearly enough to feed all the mouths at home, and Brandi still has to work as a hostess at Tacky's. Dad is proud of that fact that all of the kids are going to college. They did manage to space the kids apart enough that there have never been more than four in the house at a time, but it's still been tight. The back tv room has often been a nursery, and the front room rotates between a spare bedroom, a homework room, and lately, it's become Brandi's hobby room. She has a talent for potholders.

Across the street to the north is Katrina Katz's Cozy Cat Condo. As this is an entirely empty neighborhood, this house has never been inhabited by a crazy cat lady. If you'd like to put her back in it, that's your choice. I've spiffed up her house so now it has a much more usable second floor, and I've added a daylit basement. §342,995

Right next door is the famous Goth Mansion. The Goth family has only gotten wealthier as time as gone on, and their mansion reflects it. Aixlachaise had the wonderful idea to use the MG Second Empire set to really do the mansion proud and I loved the idea. Because a single tile door just wouldn't do, I've actually thinned the entire house by one tile in the middle. I've also added a floor between the main floor and the upstairs, and I've made the attic and roof usable (which are currently only accessible if you can teleport or, ahem, fly..., and dug out a basement. That's right, the Goth Mansion now has SIX floors. I've also added a detached garage and given their grounds the fine manicure it deserves. Mortimer went a little crazy after losing Bella and now he's become obsessed with living long enough to find out what happened to her. Currently he is simply prolonging his life with his own elixirs, but when he runs out of enough happy points, he will start stealing from his children. When they realize what is going on, they'll confront him, and that's when ol' Morty will disappear. He'll have found a new way to achieve immortality. The secret lies behind the old bookcase in the basement. He will live on and watch his children's children grow up and have their own kids, all the while he searches by night for his lost beloved Bella.

Minor Issue: The trash cans in the Goth Mansion bathrooms are all 1/4 tile too close to the wall! This prevents them from being useable. It's ok that they share space with the sink, but you need to scoot them forward a bit with the "setquartertileplacement on" & "crtl+f" cheat.

Right next door to the Goth's is and has always been Pleasantview's namesake family's house. I've added a basement and made the upstairs a bit more useable, everything else was mostly cosmetic. After his brief affair with the maid, Daniel has been forgiven by Mary Sue, she let him move back in, and they have rekindled their marriage. Their daughters are both grown and married and have their own kids, but we keep their bedrooms just the same for whenever they might want to visit. Mary Sue is still at odds with Angela for getting herself knocked up in college with that trailer trash now-husband of hers. Angie could have done so much better for herself! While they were growing up it was always Lili they had to worry about, they never thought this reversal would happen. Mary Sue is trying to get over what has happened, for the sake of her granddaughters, but as they haven't reconciled yet, she hasn't met the adorable toddlers yet. Angela is still pretty mad at her Dad for throwing her out of the house when she told them who was the cause of her baby bump. Happily though, Dustin's side of the family has welcomed Angela and the girls with open arms, so the little family isn't alone in the world.

Next door sits an original bin house that could have gone for Veronaville, but I decided to banish it's tudor styling and plunk it down here. The gable in the roof echos the ones in the Pleasant house, so it fits well here. This house has had some drastic changes to it; a garage has been added, a basement, and an upstairs loft style bedroom, there is also now a pool in the back. This might be the one house that doesn't have a closet for one of its bedrooms. The house is very small and I just couldn't fit it in. There is a hallway closet, so the master can use that if they like, but it isn't in their room. The upstairs works well as a bedroom for two kids, one side has an area for homework, and the other side is the sleeping area. There is a guest bedroom in the basement, as well as a games area.

Moving across and up the street is another favorite of mine from the original Bin, the Craftsman's Pride house. I've added a garage, dug a daylit basement, and reworked the floor plans a bit. The layout of this house is a bit on the stranger side because this is the house that Nina and Dina have bought for their combined family after Dina's husband died again. Dina didn't want her daughter growing up alone, so the arrangement was mostly for her sake, but with two kids, it was starting to get harder for Nina to juggle everything by herself as well. Nina and Don never married, and as romance sims, they never wanted to, but they've been true to each other in another way, neither has had children with anyone else, even though they both sleep around. It's a weird little arrangement, but it works for them. Don comes over often to spend time with the kids. Nina and Dina have bedrooms on the second floor, and the three kids have the rooms up in the third floor attic (which is now seasons-proof). You could turn the large bonus room over the garage into a master bedroom and then use Nina and Dina's bedrooms for more kids if you have a crazy large family. They won't miss the space, as there is a rec room in the basement.

Minor Issue: The second floor bathroom's toilet is the wrong way round! How embarrassing!

I love this house post-reno. It was another that I hated so I never used, and now I love it. I never used it because I don't tend to have families of orphans with no parents. I know we got that one bin family of all kids, but eh. Much more useable to just add a master bedroom. It feels kinda New Orleansy to me. I've taken the original raised living room and sunken it, then added a basement. I took a bit of the family room for an office and above the family room, and that's where I added a master bedroom. The house is set up for a family of four kids, but the two bedrooms are big enough you could easily fit a third bed in there instead of the desks. There is an office downstairs, so the kids can do their homework down instead. There is a soccer net in the back, and the basement makes a good play room.
