From GTA 5: desert living

Taking a trip back to Sandy Shores again, partly because of my own strong nostalgia for the world of GTA V, and partly because I received signals of some demand for gritty / decayed type of lots. All these residentials are based on desert buildings from the Grand Senora Desert and the trailer park Sandy Shores in GTA V (and that is based on real-life area of Salton Sea, California). Obviously recommended for your "bad side of the town", or a rundown industrial part of it. They are very simple boxy structures really; my efforts were put more into the painting / CASting /decorating part.

Faded shack
The only of the three that has a "normal" kitchen and bathroom (1 bedroom). Equipped with a boat trailer outside, which is a common sight in Sandy Shores (the Alamo Sea /Salton Sea is nearby). The current furnishing hints that the previous owners have been trading with illegal explosives, but of course, you should put an end to this racket. :P
Lot size: 20 x 20
Furnished: 25,404
Unfurnished: 13,827

Old Hand Car Wash
Looking like an abandoned car wash that is not operating any more, I converted it to a shack for a sim (or a couple) who don't mind to live in a garage office (1 bedroom). Only a microwave kitchenette (with mini fridge) and an all-in-one bath booth (Island Paradise EP). With sims interested in Handiness / Inventing / Fixer upper cars in mind.
Lot size: 20 x 30
Furnished: 43,320
Unfurnished: 24,682

Hippie Camp
There are at least three hippie camps scattered around the desert in GTA V; I have tried to recreate the ambiance of it with this lot - it has two trailers on it, both with 1 bedroom, all-in-one bath and microwave/mini fridge kitchenette. Since it's a hippie camp, I planted a small weed/herbs garden at the back (with herbs from University Life EP), but apart from gardening, the residents can even learn snake charming here, and there is a tiny (illegal?) radio station in one of the trailers. With sims interested in Arts / Gardening / Communication / Rebel group in mind.
Lot size: 25 x 25
Furnished: 49,229
Unfurnished: 30,096

All lots have been playtested for routing only (no long-run gameplay). No CC, no Store items, no Stuff Packs. The following EPs are necessary: World Adventures, Late Night, Ambitions, Generations, Showtime, Seasons, University Life (crucial!), Island Paradise (all-in-one bath!).

Lot Size: 25x25
Lot Price (furnished): 49,229
Lot Price (unfurnished): 30,098

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

The timing of this could not have been better. I literally just logged on to see if there were some western or deserted themed houses to compliment your earlier creations in my neighborhood and BAM! Keep up the good work.

I'll experiment with these as I did the others (not having Island Paradise). Since I have the mod that lets all the sims take sponge baths in all the sinks, it won't harm them not to have the all-in-one. It'll take me a while but I'll report back!

I'm very glad if I managed to hit the timing to satisfy some of my fellow simmers' grungy needs. Thank you all.
@GrijzePilion Pi, if you ever have doubts that you can say a compliment that makes one melt - I assure you, you can, thanks. :D
@lucy kemnitzer Lucy, I was thinking about it, maybe the round columns on the Car Wash are from IP. Maybe. If they are, well, it needs 4 pieces of two-story high columns and 2 pieces of one-story high planted into the frieze with moveobjects. And you can rebuild the interiors to enlarge the bath a bit if you need it.
Speaking of rebuilding and Car Wash roof, one can rebuild the first floor/1st level without issues, but if you touch the roof, it can be messed up because the rusty roof is built with CFE, so rebuilding it without the cheat can mess up the 2nd and 3rd level of the lot, so careful with the car wash high roof.

I am absolutely floored by your work. Gritty, worn, and natural. You attention to detail is so spectacular, little touches that i would never even think of, but add a completeness, like the little extra metal railing next to the AC unit on one of the trailer's roofs. And I gotta say, I am loving the chess bishop as a chimney/vent. Such a brilliant, creative solution.

Thank you, but basically I feel myself as a copycat - I just repaint the picture that had already been painted before by others (a video game company in this case). I wonder if I'll ever be able to create something original, like you, or other great builders of this site.

Your creations are amazing!!! Looking at the pictures of the buildings that inspired you, it's such a close call that I had to go back and make sure I knew which was the original and which the TS3 lot. Wonderful attention to detail and accurate use of patterns, too!!! Loved them all!!!
Please, a question, just to see that I understood right. The patterns you used are from Base Game or from the EPs that you listed, right? I won't even need to get extra patterns to get the lots to look exactly like you built them?? Wow!!!

Yes, all the patterns I use are from base game and the listed EPs, so yes, if you have all the EPs listed, it should look exactly like this in your game. Thank you, I'm glad if you like it!

I was looking for an interesting residential lot to add to 1437 Desolation Drive in Oasis Landing (down near the Barren Wasteland). Your Hippie Camp lot is perfect! I only erased the sand paint, the rest I left 'as is.' Love all of your lots, thank you!
