NOT SO STRANGERVILLE SAVE FILE VERSION 1.0 BY SUPPJASON

A save finally anyone can benefit from.. the Not So Strangerville save file is here, where all the flora strangeness from Strangerville has been removed, leaving it a small, peaceful town perfect for starting any new gameplay.

This little lightbulb lit up when I started doing some save and townie maintenance in my most recent Strangerville save. I left MCCC untuned while I was solving the mystery and Story Progression destroyed some of the more iconic families in the game with the amount of pregnancies and marriages that happened in the background. After deciding it would just be easier to transfer my family to a clean save, I was shook by the fact that they would have to solve the Strangerville Mystery all over again just to have a normal play through.

This is a clean save file, all EA townies live in their original EA homes, they also still feature their outstanding game generated hot/cold weather wear.

Spoilers: Do not play this save file if you have not completed the Strangerville Mystery and still have interest in doing so.
The Mystery is still active in the game. All levels of the Secret Lab have been unlocked and the story has been set to the final act. If you ever want to reactivate any level of strangeness, just head over to the Secret Lab.

If you want your sim to benefit from the slightly disappointing, but still new unlockable trait from completing the Strangerville Mystery, you’ll have to add it with this cheat:
Traits.Equip_Trait HeroOfStrangerVille

Make sure to have testingcheats on.

Note: This is a save file. This will not affect any of your current saves nor while it disable the Strangerville Mystery from any of your future saves; unless you are starting from this save file. I’d recommend creating a duplicate save before starting any gameplay in order to still have a fresh, strangeless save file.

It's actually a fun little expansion. Granted, I still feel this should have been included with Get To Work and the scientist/alien angle, but I enjoy the new additions to the game. It's worth the 20 bucks, even though the new world is sadly very small and somewhat lacking in the pre-built houses department. They're visibly lackluster, but that can be changed, of course. I just wish there were more actual community and housing lots, but that's what we've come to accept from EA now. Small worlds with 2-5 lots. I still enjoy the scenery and the content, however!

Your description doesn't make it sound worth the $20!

TBH I refuse to buy this until it's on sale. It looks fun, but not $20 fun.

Which is perfectly fine. I always think of the people working on this, they deserve some recognition for their work. 20 bucks is what I usually spend on a dinner with friends, so a game which brings me joy and entertainment is definitely worth that to me.

Thank you so much! I played through Strangerville once and it was fun enough but I don't feel like playing through it again even though I love the little world

Does this file go into the Mods folder, or elsewhere?

Oh thank you! I have been looking for exactly this...I have a bunch of retiree couples and knitting grannies that want to live in Strangerville to avoid having to shovel snow but those stupid plants just made it look so weird!! Now if someone could just lift the doom and gloom from the Vampire neighbourhood so I could have a nice gated community there!

Extremely useful, I especially loved your non-invasive approach to creating this save file: no big changes beyond the Strangeville mystery, which is exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!
