...i'm not trying to be critical, or royally dense, but isn't this what happens when you use autolights?
i congratulate you, but i'm just wondering.

Not quite. This is a bit smarter. Normal Auto-lights does not turn off a light when a sim is not using it.

Great !
that mean the autolight now will work ? :D

... @ The_Living_End
here the autolight keeps light turned on also if a sims is sleep
sometime the light will be turned on also if the sims leave a room..

Cool. I hated how you had to turn the lights on/off manually. Thanks.

Thankyou! At last the lights will be realistic!

Very nice, I always wondered if there was something wrong with my “Auto-Lights” but now I see that it was just another failed attempt of Maxis. Thank you for completing this for them. No more high electric bills for my sims.

hmm... I never really had this problem with the auto lights, they always turned off properly for me

Dizzy2, will this apply to outside lights also?

So, if I understand correctly, this works like those IR-controlled automatic lights in the real world? A sim walks into a room, the lights go on and vice versa when they leave?

billyd, this has no affect on outside lights (different function).

Madness, this works more like a psychic clapper. Turns on when they need it, off if they don't.

I gotcha now. But ya know, it would be quite funny if someone could make a clapper. You click on a light and select "Clap On" or "Clap Off" to turn the lights on & off, respectively.

Well you could do that. You would be left without an animation of it though.

This is the greatest and works perfectly in my game. I hated it when night fell and every single light went on and stayed on unless the sim was asleep. THANK YOU!

I have noticed that normally, without this hack, my autolights work fine for every room except the kitchen? The bedroom lights go off when they sleep, and on again when they move closer and snuggle with their partner (can't the sims manage to get from on side of the bed to the other without the lights on?) and then off again. Every other room works fine except maybe the bathroom...I can't remember at the moment. Anyway is there a reason for this? Maybe cockroaches activate the lights? Or something else? Will download though so I am sure Autolights works!

Mine worked cept in the kitchen too! I always just thought it
was me.......*sigh*
Something else Maxis didn't have working right? Or was this
on purpose?
THANK YOU!

This file does NOT work with nightlife, I have found that it causes Community lots to load forever and never complete loading, forcing me to end the task through task manager. I have tried redownloading this hack incase the file got corrupted, and still the same thing happened.

I use this hack and I've never had any problem with community lots.

Your problem is NOT the fault of this hack.

Just found this. Love it. Downloading it now. I will also test extensivly with nightlife. What I am seeing so far is more hacks conflict within nightlife but since I don't use many I am sure it works fine. I am so thankful for this, I have been so annoyed with all the lights except the rooms where sims are sleeping of being on all night long. Could you imagine the electric bill?! lol

Love yourself for who you are

I've had the same problem on some downtown community lots, I don't see it being caused by the lights mod tho.

I am going to have to confirm this problem as well. I narrowed it down to this hack through process of elimination. This hack seemed to have corrupted my Nightlife savegame, causing certain downtown lots to never load and having to close the game through Task Manager. This always happened when trying to get into the lot for Build Mode, and sometimes when visiting with a Sim. After restoring a pre-Nightlife backup, I found that downtown lots would not load with this hack installed, and loaded with no problem with the hack removed.

Sorry, guys. I have no idea what's causing your problems, but it's certainly not my hack. I just sent my sims bowling downtown no problem, and I've used simless build mode many times with this hack in place.

There is no possible way my hack could do what you describe.

Even if my hack were buggy and incompatible (which it is not) it would still only cause sims to "jump" or give you error dialogs. Things that cause your game to freeze have nothing to do with SimAntics and most likely would happen with or without ANY hacks.
