This mod contains two registry hacks that will change whether you have a 24 Hour World Clock or a 12 Hour AM/PM Clock based upon the locale of en_uk (English UK/24 Hour Clock) or the locale of en_us (English US/12 Hour Clock.) This mod fully works and it is highly recommended that you back up your registry before installing. I'm not responsible for game/computer crashes. Enjoy this mod as I know I was going nuts trying to get back my old 12 Hour Clock since I got Nightlife and the new 24 Hour Clock.

UPDATED on 3/9/08: Now compatable With ALL EPs and Stuff Packs including The Sims 2, The Sims 2 University Expansion, The Sims 2 Nightlife Expansion, The Sims 2 Open for Business Expansion, The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff, The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff, The Sims 2 Pets Expansion, The Sims 2 Seasons Expansion, The Sims 2 Celbration! Stuff, The Sims 2 H&M Stuff , The Sims 2 Bon Voyage Expansion , The Sims 2 Teen Style Stuff , and The Sims 2 FreeTime Expansion ! :D

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

24 hour clock is VERY easy. If its after 1200 hours just subtract 12 to get the time.

Example: 1700 - 1200 = 500 or 5 pm.

Please be aware that if you change your locale with this patch, unexpected results may occur, as the game actually keeps a separate text list for *everything* for US and proper English.
If you have any user created objects where the creator forgot to provide or change text for the en_uk locale, its name and description may change to something unexpected.

If you're using an NPC name mod by someone (or one of my older versions) which does not include names for both locales, your NPCs, townies, and playable ex-NPCs/townies may suddenly change their names.

Oh yeah, it is easy to figure out, but I just perfer being able to tell right off, and having it match my own clocks around the house.

Thank you so much for this mod! I was going crazy trying to figure out how to get my game to display the time correctly in 12 hour time with 'am' and 'pm' as in Uni! I couldn't figure out why they had fixed it in Uni and then went back to the old format in NL.

So en_uk has 24 hour clock? I wanted to play Sims in english but hated that 12 hour clock that seemed to be in both uk and us languages..

Yes, the en_uk has the 24 hour clock so thats the registry file you will want to add to the game.

I was wondering if anyone here knows how to change the time format in The Sims 2 (plus eps). What I mean by that is, changing the speed of "sim" time to real time, hence...seconds in real time, equal seconds in sim time.

Yeah, I've always wondered that too. Is it possible?

I dont think so, but imagine how boring the game would be at that speed. Sims' interactions with each other and more specifically interactions with objects are shortened from what they would probably take in real life so you can fit all the normal activities of a person into one sim day.

Great work Pilot!

Big_Cat- have the game clock synched with your system clock! Good Idea! I'll look into that.

Sorry if this question sounds dumb!

But does this clock run on REAL time? minutes are real minutes and hour is real hour?

Uncle Rico: Napoleon, you know we can't afford the fun pack. What, do you think money grows on trees in this family? Take it back! And get some Pampers for you and your brother while you're at it.

no.

its merely adjusts the ingame clock from 24->12 or visa versa. and ingame, time is still sped up as usual.

No, it's a registry edit. You double click on it and you'll get a message asking if you want to add this information to the registry and then you select yes. That's why you should backup your registry before using it.

Pilot, thanks for making this and for updating it for OFB. Before I used this my sims were eating dinner at 19 O'Clock and going to bed at 24 O'Clock.
