Updates: Fixed a footprint issue with default bassinets, they should now work properly and appear as 1 tile.

-I've uploaded a file to include Alien babies, please note that these are part of the Get to Work expansion. You will also find the default Alien bassinet in the kids furniture section, this item is normally a debug item and doesn't appear as an item to purchase, but as to not completely take away the option for you to have that bassinet, its now available to purchase

Hey there!

This is the first time I've made anything for the sims but as I searched for this exact thing and came upon broken mods I decided to try and figure it out on my own. I guess the idea is based on Li.Ko's, or just the general sims community begging the sims developers to not make babies attached to their bassinets, but other than that everything has been tweaked and recreated from EA's content by me.

Now you'll be able to put your babies where ever you please! Please be a responsible sim parent and put them in safe places

My bassinet includes a little bear visual anchor, use this bear to place the bassinet before the sim baby being born, it comes in 3 colours. You need to do this because if you stick down an invisible one you won't be able to pick it back up and if you use another bassinet or that invisible one remains unused for what ever reason it acts as an object and can interfere with other interactions with surrounding objects. Once the baby is born though all you have to do is recolour the baby to the invisible colour and it will just be the baby, sans bear! It should be noted if you choose to do this, make sure you turn a bear back on when aging up the baby so you're able to delete the crib afterwards.

With this mod you'll find 4 folders:
  • Main Baby
Required for all human and alien babies born, also includes the base game bassinet as a decorative item, just like any other CC crib.
  • RoM Addon
This includes the fix so your spell caster babies (and unexpected twins/triplets) are born in invisible bassinets. The only issue I had with this was I was unable to include the anchor bear, the work around is if you want the bear you have to have the babies at home with the bear crib already on the lot (multiple if you are expecting multiples)
  • Vamp Addon
This includes the fix so your vampire babies (and unexpected twins/triplets) are born in invisible bassinets. The only issue I had with this was I was unable to include the anchor bear, the work around is if you want the bear you have to have the babies at home with the bear crib already on the lot (multiple if you are expecting multiples)
  • Alien (Get to Work Expansion) Addon
This includes the fix so your purebred(?) Alien babies (and unexpected twins/triplets) are born in invisible bassinets. The only issue I had with this was I was unable to include the anchor bear, the work around is if you want the bear you have to have the babies at home with the bear crib already on the lot (multiple if you are expecting multiples)

The zip folder contains all four of these folders, if you do not have one of the expansions just get rid of the ones you don't need, but you always need Main Baby folder.

You can find my bassinet in buy mode under kids furniture, you'll know it when you see it, its a custom pacifier icon I drew.

* The Base game bassinet, Vampire bassinet and Realm of Magic bassinets no longer act as delivery options for babies, they are available with this mod within the kids furniture sections but as deco, and you would use it as you would any other CC bassinets, to place the baby in after birth.

You should have no floating baby legs in the thumbnail pictures, if you do please delete your localthumbcache.package from your sims 4 folder and relaunch your game (see note at top of description for current alien issue)

This mod will conflict with any other base game bassinet override mods NOT decorative bassinet/cribs

I feel like there's more I should be saying but I can't remember. Anyways, I really hope this all works out for all of you because I've really enjoyed being able to use my CC cribs.

This is actually a problem which happened before I updated the invisible cribs (as I found out on the S4S forums: https://sims4studio.com/thread/1712...tros-baby-crib),

As mentioned in my download post, custom cribs need to have their footprint removed in order to be used with the invisible cribs (which is really easy to do yourself: https://sims4studio.com/thread/4629...ects-footprint).

I'm working on the occult cribs at the moment, will update here when done!

EDIT: Unfortunately, I've run into some issues while attempting to update the occult cribs (problems with extracting meshes & the test file I created for alien babies seemed to use the human crib instead), so I'm not sure if I can provide updated files soon, sorry! If anyone else wants to attempt to fix the occult cribs, you need to extract the occult cribs using S4S (Object > Override, make sure debug is checked) and replace the meshes/textures with the invisible mesh/textures.

And as I said, all my decor cribs have no footprint - I did double-check them all. Yet, all my sim does is route fail to get to the baby with this mod installed.

I have no issue with Martine's mod, they do not route fail and all my cribs have no footprint. Odd that you're is having this issue though!

@YourFalseHope - Apologies, I missed that part of your post. Did you try testing the mod without any other mods installed? I haven't seen this issue myself.

I've done some testing with mods in and out of the game.

But custom cribs are causing a route fail to all cribs (custom and the ones from Vamps and Magic) - it will only allow you to interact with a floating in the air baby.

So the same problem as @YourFalseHope ??

I can't alter/look into mods myself because my brain doesn't work that way - so any help is appreciated

Yes, tested alone with my decor cribs, and all the same result.

@elbyrne @YourFalseHope

I've done some further research, downloaded a bunch of other custom cribs, removed the footprint to see if I could reproduce the issue. I found out some custom cribs DO work (such as ATS's Sweet Buddies Nursery crib: https://sims4.aroundthesims3.com/ob..._kids_11.shtml), while some don't (such as Severinka's Royal Nursery crib: https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...ry/id/1304931/).

I also removed the baby's footprint to see if that would fix it, but it didn't. I then figured it had to be a problem with the custom cribs' footprint, even though they seemed to be removed. I exported ATS's Sweet Buddies Nursery crib's footprint binary file, imported it into Severinka's Royal Nursery crib, and voila - working custom crib! I'm not sure exactly which parameter needs changing, as I imported the entire footprint file, but this is definitely an easy fix.

EDIT: I've added the working footprint binary. Here's how you can easily import it in S4S:

EDIT 2: I've update my DL post with the instructions as well: https://martinessimblr.tumblr.com/p...updated-version

@Martine does your Little Lamb default baby skin replacements still work with new update? I haven't updated my game yet and was just wondering. Thanks

Does anyone else have an issue with baby skins not matching when they are in the crib versus being held? I just downloaded this today since my other hidden crib mod was broken, and I've noticed that the babies all have the same pale skin in the crib but once they are held, their skin looks how it should. Could be due to the new skin update I guess but was wondering if people were experiencing this prior to the update

This mod hasn't been updated.
But thankfully Martine (see above comments) has updated it

"I have created an updated version of the invisible base game crib (using the meshes from this mod), you can find my version here: https://martinessimblr.tumblr.com/p...updated-version It's compatible with the latest patch (Snowy Escape) and does not suffer from floaty legs syndrome! "

Try that - I haven't played/updated my game yet so I don't know if this is causing any issues with this updated version. Report back if you can :-)

Would it be possible to make a version without the little teddy bear?

Have you tried changing the color swatch? There should be one that hides the teddy, I use it all the time

ok, so I tested it out a little. when the baby disapeared it was placed in a cc bassinet. I tested it by having the sim have a baby without a crib, just the mod, it attached to the bear and I could place the the same bassinet "under" the baby, but I got the route fail thing. but the other cc bed was fine so I don't know. I'm gonna try the footprint thing.
