Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Hello Everyone!

Airline Employee Career - 6 Career Tracks

?*25MAR2020 -- Career Files updated but having some issues with Sims going to work. Stay tuned for more updates.
18AUG19 -- Career Files Updated
19APR19 -- While I have updated my careers using this method and uploaded the new files here, for those careers that aren't updated right away while we wait for the updated Create-a-Career tool, there is a workaround for fixing careers that are missing text because of the most recent update that anyone can do regardless of whether or not you are a creator , with the use of Sims 4 Studio by midnitetech posted HERE. Thank you to MTS member Dero for bringing that to my attention!

This is a 6 track career, which means, once you complete the first 3 levels of Airline Employee (basically as a travel agent), you have 6 careers to choose from, each with 7 levels of their own. You will work for Sim Air, referenced from Sims 2 creator crocobaura, for continuity.

If anyone would like to translate the job descriptions in the second spoiler below, to any other language, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated!

You may choose any of the following 6 tracks once the first 3 levels are completed:

Station Attendant - be the one who handles passengers' baggage and cargo
Airport Customer Service Agent - check-in and manage boarding of passengers
Cargo Customer Service Agent - attend all computer aspects of cargo transport
Pilot - fly the planes and ensure passenger safety
Flight Attendant - ensure safety and comfort of all passengers during flight
Mechanic - maintain aircraft safety

Please remember, I have taken many liberties with these careers, even though they are actual jobs in the real world. For example, the wages are set to match the game's precedent, and even though the Station Attendant, Cargo Agent, and Airport Agent career tracks have levels, they are not actually levels in the real world, but are regular job functions, and some of the names of those levels come from my imagination, while others are actual positions bid for on the job, which is usually done every 6 months. I have performed many of the Cargo Agent and Airport Agent jobs in the real world, as I worked for a major Canadian airline for 12 years.

Being a travel agent is not a requirement to work for an airline, but it is a great job with lots of perks of its own in the real world.

The first two levels of the Mechanic career track are obviously not real, even though the rest are based off of actual career courses offered by State University Civil Service System.
Pilot levels 2,3 and 5 are derived from real certifications as described by Phoenix East Aviation.
The description for the Flight Attendant career track comes mainly from College Grad Flight Attendant Career Information. You will also notice a not-so-big jump in pay between a couple of the Flight Attendant career levels, based on the fact that a senior flight attendant will make more than a junior flight attendant, even on smaller aircraft.

All of the appropriate links are provided in the credits, and I encourage anyone interested in an airline career in real life to check them out.

Many of the career tracks require great focus, so I recommend using my Super Keener Trait when creating a Sim who you know will be attempting them, or use a cheat to give that trait to your Sim already in game.

Thank you so much

Thank you!

I posted an update to the description that says I'm waiting for the Create-a-Career tool to be updated, then we can all fix our careers. Neia is very good about doing this, so we should have them up and running smoothly soon!

I appreciate the notice

Hi there! I love the flexibility with this career track, but the recent update makes the career unpaid

I had an issue where my sims weren't getting paid, but, as it turns out, it was a total newbie error on my part. It happens to all of us, I guess

I still had an old career .package file in my mods folder, and that was interfering with the new .package file. DUH!

I'm so sorry it caused a delay in me getting my career mods finalized, but I've finally attached a new working file.

Thanks for everyone's patience!!!

I don't know if anyone else has this problem or not, (thanks by the way for the awesome-looking mod!) but the title and description are completely missing in my game. What do you think could be the issue?

Well, now. That is interesting. I'm going to go double check in my own game.

@icbogue I'm now having the same issue, but only on this career. My other career is fine, as are all the other cc careers I have installed. I will go through the process of re-exporting the career using the Create-a-Career tool and repackaging. Hopefully this will help. I can only assume yesterday's update affected this one somehow.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

NOTE: I'm assuming it was yesterday's update that removed all the English text from my Airline Employee career. French and German are still there. I am putting those files back in right now. I should have the working file uploaded in the next half hour.

Thanks for your patience!

@icbogue and everyone, I have fixed the most recent package to now include the missing English text. French and German are fine, and also in this latest version.

Hi! Thank you so much for this awesome career.
I was just wondering if I'm doing something wrong... is it possible to change the career outfit for this mod?

Thank you for liking my career!

There are no outfits attached to custom careers as of yet, other than those supplied by the game. I believe it is possible to assign them, but it's quite a convoluted process and I get crosseyed every time I try that and chance cards There is a way to assign your sim a career outfit using cheats, and this is a helpful thread to tell you how you can do that: Changing career outfit in CAS

I just downloaded a bunch of custom careers and none of them have any visible text/descriptions. I'm assuming they've all been broken by April's patch

Following the steps exactly as shown in this tutorial should yield success. You can't miss even one

What is it exactly that is happening that it's not working for you? I'll help in any way that I can
