I download the careers and they work but when i search the career on the pc or newspaper all of them are called "negocios"(business).perhaps is because mi game is in Spanish?

Yes that's why. My careers are only in English, sorry. I don't speak spanish.

I wonder...
maybe someone who's really good at clothing + such, maybe, HP or Delphy or someone, to make a blazer-style outfit for the male maids, or simply don't have your male be a maid? :]

I was like 11 when I made this account okay. D:

I'm not sure I understand as there is already a male maid outfit.

Thanks! I too was annoyed when my NPC mailman lost his job upon moving in. I`ve downloaded all three files attached at message #1 in this thread. Unfortunately, it isn`t entirely clear which ones I should install. I have Double Deluxe [equivalent to BaseGame+NightLife+CelebrationStuff] plus IKEA home stuff, and I *do* want the enhancements mentioned in *both* of your updates.

CaCtUs2003, "NPC" stands for "Non-Player Character".

Sorry I guess I didn't make that clear. Opps. You will want NPCMotivesFix and NPCOutfits. That's all. The NPCCareers are the careers without any motives being drained (which sucks when they've been at work for 8 hours, really throws off the sleeping pattern).
#57 Old 4th Sep 2008 at 6:26 PM
Thanks, Tasha. They`re installed, now.

Um, do the Service charachers automaticaly retain their jobs with these packages, or do we have to make them get their jobs back?

The service NPC have no jobs. These jobs don't exist in game.
#59 Old 5th Sep 2008 at 6:30 PM
Aw, shucks! I don`t suppose that there`s an easy way to code an override that adds them, either. I guess I`ll just have to use the "cheats" to force the job. That was "boolProp enableTestingCheats true", then shift-click on the newspaper, wasn`t it? Still and all, good job for getting us this far!

You got it

Thanks. It sure would be nice if someone could figure out how to automate this, though.

I doubt with how the game engine works that that would be possible.
FYI: I'm done fixing the careers and will be updating by tonight or tomorrow. That's why only the outfits are up right now.

What "fix"?
#67 Old 15th Sep 2008 at 7:39 PM
I presume box was refering to the fact that your earlier post had issues with "needs" being locked while the sim was at work.

I presume that this update has happened? I redownloaded the careers today; do I need to replace my existing installed careers from the previous download?

Yes, that's why the counter is so low on the downloads lol. And yes you need to delete the earlier careers. There are no issues with these ones in regards to the motives as they are cloned directly from the business career. Any issues you can take up with Maxis hehe. My earlier ones were cloned from a career that was cloned from the business career (if that makes sense), that's why they were wonky.

Shouldn't Butler and Landlord be added?

Everything in this room is edible,in fact even I am edible, but that my dear chld is called cannibalism and is frowned upon in most societies.

@ Velvet & General: earlier in the thread this has been discussed and you will also see in my main text that a new batch will be coming out. I am planning on 3 batches of ten careers. Both of which you mentioned are on the to-do list.

@ Beat: Have you made sure you've enabled custom content? Put it in your downloads folder? If so I'm not sure why these would not be showing up because they are cloned from a base game career. Are you only using the newspaper or computer? You may need to use debug mode to get to them or download a mod that gives you access to all careers.

This is a cool idea. I know how much time it takes to make one career. Here is the link to my firefighter career with custom uniforms and custom car pool vehicles. The fire engine will pick you up from work. http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=261722

Keep up the good work.

Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but chance cards do sometimes show up, but without any text or end result (that I can see anyway) A great bunch of careers though, thanks a ton for these!

That's a Uni bug. Not related to my careers. I'm glad you like them =)
