Yes, I simply got sick of never being able to look at my sims. They fade away so damn far that it was just impossible.

It helps for videos, too. Sims walking past the camera was impossible before, but no more!

*smile* Nice pictures! That's a really good idea, thanks. One question: What is first person camera? The one you get by using "tab"?

OMG this is going to change the sim world! At least mine, anyway! I am excited to get to taking even more interseting shots AND seeing how artistic other users will get with theirs. Yay!

Editing ini files isn't safe anyway. When you patch, the game will explode in a giant ball of fire(the patching will stop and claim an error) until you replace it with the proper file.

Ini files made packaged do not suffer from this! :D

Does this work for objects as well, or just sims?

This is wonderful I hated the fade it has always been set to far. Even in TS2.

And I recognized the sim right off. GJ!

Thank you so much for this, but I don't understand how the last pic which has the camera further away from the sim than the 3rd pic those ends up like that? Shouldn't the 3rd pic be like that?

The 4th pic has the camera "zoomed out". With the X button. X zooms out, Z zooms in, but the camera stays oriented in the same position in the 3D space of the game.

So the camera IS in closer than the third pic, but I zoomed it out so you could see what was happening. Make sense?
