This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
This tool makes custom TS4 morphs from base and morphed meshes and packages them in CAS sliders and presets.

Supports all species/ages/genders/frames/occults.

Meshing can be done using any 3D editor that will import and export OBJ without changing the vertex order or the face sequence or the group/object names. Tested with Milkshape and Blender.

To use: Download the TS4MorphMaker program zip file, extract, open the folder and run TS4MorphMaker.exe

There are three tutorials posted which have much more complete information and instructions:
Making a CAS slider with TS4MorphMaker using a DeformerMap
Making a CAS preset with TS4MorphMaker using a BGEO
Making a Cat Body Preset and Fur Preset with TS4 MorphMaker using EA Morphs and a Deformer Map

Check back for updates - now that people are using the tool I'm fixing bugs and updating often.

If something doesn't work, please check to see if an update has fixed it. If not, please report any bugs in the comments, giving as much information as possible. Please upload your meshes if you're having trouble making a BGEO or DMap. Please upload your package if it's not working as expected in CAS or the game. If you'd rather not upload, pm me with a link.

Note that the bone delta editor hasn't had much testing, and that support for morphs of custom meshes is mostly untested.

With thanks to lumialover8 for encouragement and lots and lots of testing. His beautiful sets of ear and hand sliders and presets made with MorphMaker are here: https://luumiasims.com/post/1740062...headed-toward-a

Updates:
V4.3
Head distortion in DMap preview of certain morphs is fixed.
Bone morphs for preview have been reworked, but animal meshes are still distorting so it needs more work.

V4.2
Support added for mermaids and witches.

V4.1
Corrections to the bone delta editor which hopefully will fix the issue of numbers randomly changing for some users, probably affecting users in countries that use a comma instead of a period as the decimal marker. I can't test this myself, however.
Improvement to the accuracy of bone morph previews.

Updates:
V4.0-beta
Bone Delta Editor (this part is still beta):
  • Will now interactively show you the effect of bone morphs as you change values.
  • Now allows values to be edited using either global/world or local coordinate system.
All previews now include bone morphs.
Exports of morphed meshes from previews now include bone morphs.
Preset regions which are not supported by the game have been removed from the preset options.

V3.0-beta
This is a beta since there are a lot of changes, and the previous version is still available until this one is final.
Enhancements:
  • Full support for cat and dog sliders and presets added.
  • The DeformerMap creation has been substantially rewritten to produce smoother and more accurate maps which are also a bit faster to make. The problem of morphs 'smearing' into the wrong areas and causing distortion should now be gone. Any bumpiness in very high poly meshes should be gone.
  • *Note this exception: In human sims the fingers and inner mouth are mapped onto the same area of the uv1 so DMap morphs cannot be used for either part without distorting the other.
  • Sculpts now include the full set of textures (material, normalmap, specular) and bone deltas.
  • Small fixes and changes.
Bugfix: Export of morphs included tiny inaccuracies due to rounding error causing distortion when exported whole body morphs were used as a morph mesh. This has been corrected.

V2.3.2
Bugfix: Corrected bug causing body preset custom thumbnails to not show up. (Use this version to open and save a package with body preset thumbs to fix it.)
Changes: The thumbnail import/export window will now resize correctly. The preset sort order will display as a decimal number.

V2.3.1
Bugfix: Correction of bug in HotSpotControl display causing gender restriction flags to be incorrectly checked in some conditions.
Changes: Addition of custom regions for Sim Modifiers, for use in body presets meant to affect only one body part. Choice of regions in presets restricted to regions that can have presets. Cosmetic and informational changes to screens.

V2.3.0
Bugfix: Correction of bug in the Tight Boundaries option of DMap creation which caused erroring out.
Changes: Addition of mesh export from all previews, including previews of presets, sculpts, and sim modifiers. Exported meshes can now be modified and used as a morph mesh with the correct standard base mesh for the age/gender.

V2.2.7
Bugfix: Correction of DMap compression bug introduced in previous fix, affecting base/morph pairs of any size with areas of unchanged normals. Anyone using V2.2.6 should update immediately.
Change: Body meshes exported from the Previewer tab will now include the head.

V2.2.6
Bugfix: Correction of bug in whole body compressed DMap creation, resulting in a DMap with bad data. Anyone working with whole body size DMaps should update.
Change: A few user error checks added.

The easiest way is probably this:

Go to the 'Create/Edit Slider and/or Preset Package' / 'Add/Edit Sim Modifiers' tab
Click the 'Clone Sim Modifier' button
In the list find the yfheadBody_Fit, yfheadBody_Heavy, ymheadBody_Fit, and ymheadBody_Heavy sim modifiers, select them, at the bottom of the window select default replacement, and click the Clone Selected button
You'll then have the list of default replacement sim modifiers in MorphMaker. You can Click the Preview button and export the EA morphed mesh if you want to use that as a starting point.
In the 'Create DMaps' tab export the appropriate base meshes, make your morph meshes, and generate DMaps
Back in the Sim Modifiers tab, replace the DMaps with your own

That should give you a default replacement for whatever morph you want to replace.

- Edited to replace BGEO with DMap

I tried all that you said, saved sim modifier, then saved as package into the mods folder. It won't show in the game. I can get my custom sliders to show in the game, but I can't get the default replacement to work.
A couple questions which may or may not be related:
In the create DMaps tab, what are the bodyblends for?
In the add/edit sim modifiers tab, should I be selecting a region?
Also, I'm assuming you meant to go to the 'Create DMaps' tab rather than 'Create BGEO' tab to export the base meshes?

In the DMap creation, the BodyBlend indicates the purpose of the DMap. For the heavy morph you should select BODYBLENDTYPE_HEAVY, etc. For morphs that don't fit any of the categories you should use BODYBLENDTYPE_IGNORE. I've only experimented with BODYBLENDTYPE_AVERAGE once but it seemed to create DMaps that are applied to all sims of the selected age/gender. I'm not sure of that, though.

The region of the cloned sim modifiers should be left at BODY.

Thanks for the correction!

After experimentation, it looks like despite EA giving us the names of the weight/fitness sim modifiers and including them in the game files, they're not actually used. We'll have to do this the hard way, by doing default replacements of the DMaps themselves. I tested this and it works. MorphMaker is not set up to do this and when you replace a DMap it gives it a custom identifier.

I've attached packages containing the EA male and female fit and heavy DMaps. You'll have to use s4pe to replace those DMaps with your own, without changing the TGI identifiers. Click on each one and you can see in the right-hand panel if it's the shape or normals DMap. Let me know if you have any problems or need more detailed instructions in using s4pe. I'll see if I can add this function to MorphMaker for the future.
Download - please read all instructions before downloading any files!

I'm not sure whether I'm looking at it wrong, but S4PE is showing both DMaps for all 4 files as the fit morph for the respective gender, and all are showing shape, no normals.

Where did you pull those DMaps from? SimulationFullBuild0 ?

Sorry to keep bothering you. I think I've made more posts in the past couple days than I did the last 13 years I've been on this site! This really is an amazing program! It makes it easy for someone like me with only a moderate amount of computer knowledge (minored in CS for my Bachelors degree) to create our own mods!

I just checked and all the attachments look okay. Are you clicking on each DMap and giving it a few seconds to display the data? Are you using a recent version? I attached a screenshot.

Game DMaps are in ClientDeltaBuild0.package. If you look in the MorphMaker folder (where the program .exe and supporting files are) you'll see a text file named DMapList.txt. This gives you the TGIs and names of the game human DMaps. You can use it to find other morphs you might be interested in replacing.

Thank you so much! I'm glad I could make custom morphs accessible for creators.

If it's the eyes and mouth getting distorted, make sure you're not changing the fingers or ankles when making your DMap.

You'd have to use a BoneDelta, DMaos won't work. There are already height sliders available, you can see how those are made.

Ok so I tried a few more things.. I exported the default YM fat morph to a .obj file from the add/edit sim modifier panel, exported the base mesh, then used the tool to create the DMaps without changing anything in Blender. The preview is still showing a distorted mouth/eyes. I then exported the DMaps directly from the ClientDeltaBuild0 file, loaded them up in the previewer (which looked fine), then exported them from the previewer to a .obj file, created new DMaps with the tool (again, unedited), loaded those DMaps up in the previewer, and it again showed a distorted mouth/eyes. I tried a few different settings in the Create DMaps tab, all showing a distorted face.

Unfortunately the DMaps my program generates are just not as good and not as exact as the EA ones, which isn't all that surprising. I'll see if I can figure out a way to improve them. Meanwhile all you can do is avoid morphing the hands and ankles.

Edit: I found that exporting the fat morph (and I assume other full body morphs) was producing a mesh with small rounding errors resulting in morphing of areas that aren't supposed to move, like the fingers and ankles, that was almost invisible but enough to distort the eyes and mouth. This is corrected in the next version, which also restricts morphed areas more effectively.

HI! So I'm trying to make a BGEO Full Body Preset, but when I try to create the file in MorphMaker I get an error message saying "Index was outside the array". I'm trying to make a preset for children (making them taller, thinner), and I sculpt a bit. I export the .obj just like in the tutorial, but when I go to create the BGEO file I get this message. I still got the message when I tried uploading the base mesh with the base mesh and it still gave me an error. Could you please help? Thank you!

Sorry, but you can't make a BGEO for the whole body, only for the head. This is because of the way head and body meshes are constructed and can't be changed. For a BGEO morph you must use a head mesh exported from the Make BGEO tab which contains some extra non-standard data needed to generate a BGEO.

You can use a DMap to make children thinner or with changes to shape, but using a DMap to change height causes distortion, I think because of the way the game uses bones to position the arms. You'd have to use a bone morph for height.

BTW, if you decide to do a DMap you can select BODYBLENDTYPE_AVERAGE for the region and it'll be applied to all children in your game.

I wish someone would make a male tummy morph using http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=560293 like VibrantPixels female belly-pouch morph. I also wish I could combine Luumia's hand sliders with Vibrantpixels' arm-shape slider.

I've made a default morph for the fat slider and it's working very nice.
the only wierd things is that it affect only teen, Ya and adult. not the elder ... evenif the elder box is checked
if someone knows where the Dmaps or elder are hidden i would like to know to

The heavy/lean/fit/bony morphs work differently from the other body sliders - I've found that the Sim Modifiers for them seem not to do anything and probably are not used in the game, and what you have to replace is the DMaps which you've done for the teen-adult morphs. If you look at the files in the TS4 MorphMaker folder in the download, you'll see a file named DMapList.txt. You can open it in any text editor but it's used by the program so don't change it. It lists the game DMaps by name and TGI. The DMaps for elders start with 'em' and 'ef' for elder male and elder female. You'll see that there's DMaps for the elder heavy/lean/fit/bony morphs along with Average which I suspect is a morph giving the standard elder body shape, and pregnant which is probably not used. Anyway, if you're familiar with s4pe you can just make your elder DMaps or make copies of the DMaps you already made, and give them the TGIs of the ones you want to replace.

Let me know if you have questions or problems!

If you've modified the path manually about all I can tell you is to double-check that it's correct and that it's pointing to the 'The Sims 4' folder for both, not to a subfolder. If you want to upload a screenshot I can take a look.
