This is perfect! My sims get rich in a matter of weeks which is way too fast for me. Wanted my sims game much harder, which this will do! This will even keep those sims in their respective classes for a while. Upper, middle, lower. Thanks for this! :D

Okay, I think it's kinda cool you want it to be more realistic, but why do you want to make it harder to get money in the game? I saw one person said it's way too easy to make money. It wasn't for me until I used cheats, but whatever. I'm just curious what your reasons are.

Also, the Simoleon currency is slightly different than US currency. Just by a little

Although the rates of each career are a bit high and very easy to make a decent living in game, if using a higher bills mod (made by claudiasharon or nona or something like that at 40% or higher on each Friday) such as myself, this would be a little harsh to work with. Minimum wage out this way is about $8.25/hr. So, it wouldn't be considered a challenge at this rate. You are, more or less, trying to create a way to fill up your in-game cemeteries! Poor is truly an understatement for this matter. I don't use any of the money cheats either, so this would truly kill my entire world off!

Great idea though! If there is an adjustment to make it a little more around the $8 average and up, I'm all over it! I can just adjust the high bill rate option from either of the mod creators (thank you all that make these higher bills' mods!!) to balance out from that point. Please consider, please???? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. On another note, one mentioned about part-timers not making less, just working less hours, is definitely another factor to consider if you do decide to make my requested flavor.

this is a really good mod for those who want to make you sims lives a little more realistic, although the game sets quite a high standard of living especially when it comes to bills and food I:E 4 simoliens for 1 apple?? so like many my sims are also always broke but i may give this a try just to see how they go...

Thank you for your efforts

Ohhhh! Yay! Cause I love the idea of this, but I did notice a couple I wanted to tweak. Thank you for this! I can't wait to start using this!

Just a quick question though: How do I add in custom careers?

Yeah, really, $30 Simoleons for a pizza, it had better feed me for a week! Realistically, 1 large pizza from Pizza Hut feeds maybe 2-3 hungry people where I'm coming from, and costs maybe $7-10. Mac & cheese costs what, $1 for a box (or less), plus a bit extra for milk & butter. $4 for an apple is more like a whole pound, and it had better fill me for a whole afternoon!

But sure, I've got s3pe, and I can play with this!

This does look like an awesome mod for those that might want a more difficult challenge in their game (sorry not me but I do think it's very cool and will definitely lead my sister here cause she'd love it ).

JIC you want to reference a real Air Force (closest to the game career) American military pay scale to represent it correctly (I've done a LOT of research on this for a book) you can check them out here: http://www.militaryfactory.com/military_pay_scale.asp

Not telling you you need to change it (seriously it' s your mod...if people want a variation they can change it ) but this is a just in case thing if you do want to look at it.

Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out with something.

One of my Sims' life wish is one of the author-y ones. So with that and the wishes she gets, she makes 5k every Sunday in royalties. I just think it's a bit too much..

How would I go about changing that?

I was wondering a similar thing myself. I was looking at the business career, and noticed the lowest rung that the pay was 2 per hour. In the UK, the lowest earning is £2.65 per hour and that is an apprentice under 19 and in their first year. at over 21 the wage is £6.19 p.h. I'll probably still download, and just adjust the amounts!

Thank you for your work on this idea. I agree that the economics of the game are very unrealistic; I think your mod has much promise toward some needed realism. Sharing how to "mod the mod" should make this a popular download. Every one has different money experiences (and expectations), and you have allowed them to apply those financial realities to the game with your work. Thanks again.

OH MY GOD!! I've spent the best part of three days trying to find the mod that was causing some of the rabbit holes in my home world to be unselectable and I finally found it!!! I've been putting mods in and out of my game one by one to see which one would cause the problem. It's taken me like fifty tries but this is definitely it, take it out of your game if you have University life, it needs to be updated.

SUCH a relief! haha :D

Hey, just wanted to report an issue: this rendered my office buildings and stadiums completely unusable. I've got Uni, and have all the patches, so I think something's messing with this. Otherwise, I LOVED this mod.

Can I share with you guys the temp version of the mod I've been using, while waiting for this to be officially updated ? I love this mod too. <3

I would also love it if the creator adds an optional package to go with the NRaas custom careers. The only flaw with this mod for me is that those careers seem incredibly cheaty when they're the only ones that are not lowered. (plus I don't actually know how to change them myself... guess I was too lazy to find out. xD) So an addition for them would be awesome. I *think* it would be okay, but when in doubt, ask a mod, right? There's probably someone in chat who'd know.

Edit. Totally, totally posted this before I was done typing by mistake. Anyway, I think I'll share. I'd be sad without this mod, too. I don't remember having done anything different from the last version, so the new careers are normal earnings, but at least it is compatible with 1.50.

#48 Old 29th Mar 2013 at 8:41 PM Last edited by Zombie Chick : 29th Mar 2013 at 8:42 PM. Reason: adding info
I installed this and it worked for a while then I had the issue of sims going to work actions just...vanishing really. I uninstalled it and it works but now I miss the mod. I started having problems where sims are complaining saying they can't go in the buildings and though I'm not sure if it's related to this mod, you can fix it if you have nraas MC and just click the ground and go to object stats and there might be a thing that says rabbithole jig (for me it said there were 12 of them) I deleted them and I could go in. So whether or not that was related to this mod, I thought someone might find the info useful.

P.S. if you know why my sims "go to work" actions are vanishing with this mod installed and know a way to fix it please let me know. Thanks!

I like it just for the simple fact that it makes the game more interesting. Once I get to a level 10 it gets way too easy to buy the best stuff and once I get all the best stuff and best house, then it gets boring and want to move on to the next Sim. But that is my perspective on this mod. Thanks for the mod
