  • Autonomous Garden Tasks enabled so Sims will carry out tasks on their own.
  • Sims Can and do fertilize, water, weed, harvest, dispose their own gardens as well as on other lots and/or community lots.
  • As with my other mods, there is a fun instance to prod them along, but it is not a guarantee they will do the task. If your Sims are busy working, fulfilling personal needs, or other tasks they may not carry these out in a timely fashion. Obviously the more Sims you have the better chance you have of one or more taking care of the garden.
  • Skill levels for gardening must be obtained before the actions (user directed or autonomous) can be carried out: level 0 for watering, level 2 for weeding and fertilizing.
  • One of the EA updates allowed for a "Fertilize All with Best Fertilizer", so your sim will fertilize with the best in their inventory. If they don't have anything in their inventory, they won't fertilize.
  • If you wish only one sim to do the gardening, there is a no harvest version, alternatively you can put a fence around your garden and lock the gate for only the sim you wish to do the gardening. Then the "allowed" sim will perform tasks autonomously.

NOTE: Includes less Hygiene so users don't have to choose between this mod and "Less Hygiene" by Chaavik. The Hygiene in this mod is the same as in Chaavik's mod.

This mod will conflict with other mods that change autonomous or fun for gardening, but should be compatible with any that only change skill for gardening or change/edit the plants.xml.

I, originally, went through gameplaydata searching for any reference to gardening and included any find in the package. Then I started eliminating sections to get down to those I actually wanted to include.

You are correct, it does include Harvest and the scenario, you mentioned, wasn't one I had considered. The reason I did include it, any sim can harvest on any lot. Which I have seen multiple instances where my sims went to community lots and harvested nearby plants.

Again you would be correct in the omission of this action from the title and description, and it appears that an overhaul is in order. As I have mentioned before, it's about options and choices.

Great Mod, any chance you can make a version that doesn't include auto fertilize ??

Reason being, I have a farming family, but would like only one sim to fertilize, as all my sims now fertilize using my precious produce and not the right fertilizers.

I have uploaded "Ala Carte" downloads, so you can choose which options you want to download/use and those you don't. Weed & Water were combined since they really don't pose any problems, then you can add fertilize, harvest, and/or dispose.

I have upgraded to the 2.4/1.9 patch and even installed High End Lofts as of 2 Feb 10. I did some testing to determine if the patch or installation affected the mods I have listed on this site. It appears all are functioning properly and should not cause any issues.

If you happen to run into any problems with them concerning the new patch, please post under the appropriate mod and explain what anomalies you encountered.

This is a great mod and I love it almost 100%! I came back to let you know how much I enjoy it and to see if possibly one of your flavors had what I needed, but it doesn't. I really need a version that has all options except fertilize. I have this silly Sim who fishes late at night, comes home and goes to bed before I clean out his inventory, then first thing he wants to do in the morning is head out and fertilize his plants. At that point I'm saying, "Dude! You can't do that! The fertilizer fish are in the fridge--you're supposed to sell that stuff!" Then if I have managed to make the switch to the fish he uses for fertilizer, he still wants to fertilize first and if I let him do that he ends up with a bunch of wasted fertilizer because he's fertilizing plants that are going to get dead as soon as they're harvested.

So if you would be so inclined I would most definitely appreciate a version that has everything but autonomous fertilizing.

You do understand that a Sim can only fertilize with items in their inventory, right? When your Sim runs out of items you will see a notice that they have used no more items to fertilize with.

Second, the reason for adding the "Ala Carte" downloads was to avoid the inevitable "I want this and this, but not that" and was suggested by Numenor in a earlier post. To get what you want download the AutoDispose, AutoHarvest, and AutoWeedWater files.


For anyone wondering about Version Compatibility, I am running 1.11/2.6/3.2 and all aspects are functioning properly.

This post reminded me of something I've learned during game play with this mod, so I've returned to add another bit of information concerning harvesting (and tending specific gardens) that people might find useful when considering using your wonderful mod.

We can create fences around community gardens, and our own, of course, and lock the gates. For Sims we play, the locking function is easy to do during game play. For certain community lots, I use the tomb debugging tools to lock and place a secret switch not operable by NPCs. This has worked well in my game (most recent patch 1.11/2.6/3.2) since townies can eat the harvested goodies (and not run away from conversations with my Sim because they are starving), and I can keep the special fruits and veggies needed for catching exotic fish or preparing meals for my Sim and my Sim alone.

Of course, this work around at home won't stop family members allowed past the gate from harvesting specific plants, so people who want family members to weed, for instance, but not harvest life plants will still need one of the many variations of the mod for fine tuning. (If a Sim other than my avatar gets a needed plant, I snatch it away using a "transfer item" mod, so this work around works fine for me.)

An added plus using your mod is that during cook-outs, townies can be distracted from the grills by harvesting community gardens while my Sim wins the §1,000 prize! :P

Great mod I love it. Any way to get them to autonomously replant a veggie in the same spot it was harvested from assuming of course when they have it in their inventory? I like to play my family members as npcs and I always have a hard time remembering which plants got disposed.

There doesn't appear to be any changes from the patch 1.12 / 2.7 / 3.3 or Ambitions in regard to this mod, it seems to be functioning properly as is. If you have any issues with it, please post them here.

EDIT: This mod continues to work with Patch 1.14.11 / 2.9.10 / 3.5.8 / 4.2.32.

2nd EDIT: Still working with Patch 1.17.60 / 2.12.8 / 3.8.6 / 4.5.6 / 5.2.4 and Late Night

There is some new plants and fishes in this ep. Have you any plans on include them in this mod? That would be really nice.

This mod only addresses the ability to weed, fertilize, harvest, water, and dispose dead plants autonomously. Therefore is not affected by any changes from the New EP.

Patch 1.63 was released 17 Oct 13, it updates nearly 1000 xml and itun resources from GamePlayData, Most if not all Tuning Mods WILL NOT work with patch 1.63 and will require updating.

This mod Has been updated for patch 1.63
