What's the difference between this tool and SimPE?

I'm going to stop modding the sims 2.

Well, about the only thing they have in common is you can view the contents of a package

Dizzy will you continue with Disasim too?

The disaSim2 project requires a ton more maintenance than this project and required me to work in Windows, so I dropped it months ago. However, I did provide source code (and so did Shy) so it's still an active project if you want it to be.

Well I am more interested really in your skills as a new-format-and-field spotter. As you know (and are credited for in our documentation) Peter would often look to Disasim for new developments in the packed file formats and calls for inclusion in PJSE parsing, so that we'd all be singing from the same song sheet, and I hope you are happy for him to continue looking to your work for that.

It's a lot of work and I wish more people would help, but right at the moment there's just a few of us reverse engineering that not-so-polished turd known as SimAntics.

It isn't just decoding what fields mean, either (as I'm sure you and Peter know). There's also the increasingly important question of context, which has a very significant effect on the flags in particular. Various modes and predicating (sigh) subprimitives can dramatically change the meaning of other fields, as well.

I`d like to discuss using dizzy2`s Python code in my own project, but his/her last activity here was 14th Jun 2008. Does anyone know how to contact this creator?
