This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Cost: 115.553§
Lot: 2x3
Households: 2

Nightlife and OfB required.
Custom content included: Invisible Driveway by roddyaleixo, Balustrade Stairs by Brasstex and a beautiful wood floor from HolySimoly.

A note on the stairs: if you want to install them properly, please follow the link above for directions. This lot will work just fine if you don't, but you won't be able to select or change the stairs in house 2 or use them in other lots (they won't show up in the catalogue, which is what the installation procedure is for).

Description:
For sims that are sick of living in the suburbs, Backdoor Lane provides an alternative: a couple of small town lots with a more urban look and feel. They fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, creating a maze of backyard gardens and interconnected alleyways when placed in a tightly spaced neigbourhood. Most of them work as corner lots as well as facing the street, creating a very different impression depending on how you place them and what's on the lot next door.

Backdoor Lane 14
are two houses, one of them with a small electronics store on the ground floor. One house -- the one with the store -- is only useful for a single sim or perhaps two (a parent with kid for example, or siblings, i.e. sims who would sleep in the same room but not in the same bed), the other one is large enough for four or five and also has a small garden with a covered porch. The store has a workshop/office area behind the counter with a back door to the yard; a tiny kitchen is crammed into the stairway that leads up to the apartment.

House 1:
1 x single bedroom/livingroom
1 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining
1 x store with lockable workshop area and separate bathroom

House 2:
2 x double bedroom, one of them with private study/nursery/kid's room (empty)
2 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining
1 x livingroom
1 x study (or single bedroom)

Both houses are fully furnished including outside lights and gardening. Parking for 3 cars in the backyard, cars included.

If you've questions on how to play multi-household lots, please check out Backdoor Lane 10, and unless your question or comment is specific to this lot, please post it in that thread as well (I'd like to keep it all in one place if possible).

Thank you:
This collection (frillen) as well as this one (loba) and that one (windkeeper), the mini lots by Andi8104 and the ones based thereupon (MaryLou) have been very useful in making the Backdoor Lane neighbourhood. Thanks for making them available, as well as for the driveway and the stairs and the floor of course.

Please don't PM me with neighbourhood terrain requests (look in the Neighbourhoods section instead), downloading issues (I can't help you -- look in Site Issues, Q-XPress forums etc), or Build Mode questions (general questions go here, lot specific questions in the d/l thread). Thanks.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Wow! These houses are great, they look and feel awesome in Nightlife's Downtown district, and that's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the wonderful job.

antoalex,

that's a feature that was introduced with Nightlife -- you need to turn it on in Game Options.

Thanks for this. I find the store a bit on the tiny side, but it's all good. I can easily cram my couple and their toddler daughter in here.
