Hi All,

Control of your downloads...

Is your hard drive crushed under the weight of gigs of downloads? Do you despair of sorting it all becuase you have 20 7ef7392_84kd.package files? Ever wanted an easy way to categorise and sort all of your downloads? Does your Llama's arsenal lack a certain... something?

If so, and you are a moderate to hardcore Sims 2 downloader, or just want to keep things organised, then you need Delphy's Download Organiser!

My name is Delphy, you may remember me from such tools as Q-Xpress, the MeshTool and the Multi-Pack Installer. I'd like to introduce you to the DDO, the second in a suite of tools for downloading and organising content.

...at your fingertips:

It's a download scanner which supports the following:
  • Builds a database of files so you don't have to scan every time
  • Gets the description and titles from the packages directly
  • Identifies the package type
  • Allows filtering on: Filename, Title, Description, Subfolder, Download Type and Install Date, Broken BodyShop files and Orphans
  • Allows sorting on all of the above fields
  • Has right-click context functionality to move files (either to an existing download folder from a drop down, or to a new folder entirely)
  • Right-click context to delete a file or selection of files.
  • Right-click Open with SimPE
  • Incremental Scanning, so it remembers when you last scanned and only adds new packages installed after that date
  • Orphan scanning! Yes, it can now tell whether your recolours have meshes, or meshes have recolours.
  • Identifies "broken body shop" packages
  • Detects over 50 different package types.
  • Little balloon popups for notifying you when things are done
  • Automatically scans for packages that have been removed from the downloads folder outside of the program.
  • Makes your lunch for you*
  • Deletion of files is accomplished via 58kW light amplication through ionised emmition of large boom sounds.**

Pretty stuff:

Main screen:

Filtering in action:

Orphan scan in progress:

Menu options:

Known issues:
- This isn't really an issue, but if you're orphan scanning and you find that you have a large amount of orphaned files, please take note that not all those files maybe truly orphans.

- If you get an error "Applicated has terminated unexpectedly" when trying to run it, please make sure that you extract the rar file complete with subfolders.

Where you can get it:

Click on the "Download" tab at the top of this post text, and download the "DownloadOrganiser.rar" file.

Requirements:
You need .NET Framework 1.1 (same as S2PCI and SimPE older versions), as it's written entirely in C#. If you can run S2PCI then this should work fine.

Installation instructions:

IMPORTANT: This version requires a full re-scan of all folders.

IMPORTANT: Once you have downloaded the .rar file, extract the entire contents in its own folder. Do not separate the files. Then double-click on the DownloadOrganizer.exe from this folder. Again, all files need to stay together in its own folder. If you want to put a shortcut on your desktop, right-click on DownloadOrganizer.exe and select "Send to Desktop (Create Shortcut)". You will get an error if you copy the .exe to your desktop.

Updated:

New to this version is a *complete* translatable interface. All strings, interface elements, and package names are now translatable. I've included an English and a Russian language. Big thanks to SummerGlau who helped with the bugs and did the translation!

Question for anyone who might know...I saw something that said there was a log file that would be created...When I 'installed' the program and ran it, it came up no fuss no muss...but it immediately scanned and without showing me anything said 21 packages removed as they no longer exist...and I am like, "Wait, whoa, hey! I didn't tell you to get rid of anything, I just wanted to see what was what." I checked my recycle bin, nothing in there, I searched around but with dozens and dozens of folders I have no idea if it actually deleted some files or just renamed them so the game wouldn't try to access them nor what files they were in the first place. I figured the log file would be in the same location as where I installed the program but no joy there. Thanks for any help

I'm going to hazard a guess that the "21 packages removed [from the default database] as they no longer exist [in your downloads folder]" is merely a reference to the packages in the default database the program comes with. When you ran the scan, it couldn't find any of the packages from the developer's computer on your computer and it simply declared that it language that wasn't as clear as it could have been for you in that particular moment. Hopefully you haven't lost any sleep over this in the past four and half months. ;-)

Hey there, that must have been scary, but I can assure you the programm didn't just delete/rename any files from your computer. The program builds its own database from which it's then working. When you started your programm it just cleaned out that database kinda like removing links to files that couldn't be found. So just the "links" where removed not the files themselves.
If you don't want the program to check for missing files on startup you can uncheck that setting in the "options" menu. I think that log file is only generated after the programm actually did something which in your case it didn't
Wish I could explain better hope you still understand what I mean.

Quick google brought me here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=DDO

Also I have win 10 and it's working fine for me and a friend of mine has win 10 AND ultimate collection and it's working for her too. Just make sure you have .Net framework installed like it's written about in the description and run it in admin mode if you have troubles. For ultimate make sure it points to the right path (File/Program locations) on all three tabs of that dialog.
Oh and most importantly, unpack the whole zip before starting, I hear about people just opening the zip and trying to start the exe file from inside there, that can't work of course.
Hope this helps anyone. 2019 and I still think this programm is the fastest and easiest way to sort through your downloads!

Is there a way to change the name of files while in the program? I continually get an error, and since I have several poorly named files (red9.package, for example) and figure out what they are via the preview texture option, I'd like to be able to identify them with a name without exiting the application

afaik there's no option for that in ddo. You can co it in Clean Installer by rightclicking on a file if that helps you.
With DDO you have an option to move files to another folder, so as a workaround you could move files with the same properties to a temporary folder, rename them and move them back to where you want to keep them (or for another round). E.g. if you have lets say chairs you could move them all in a new folder and then put the word in "chair" in all the filenames. I do that a lot (mostly to add "mesh" or "rc" to a filename) and the advantage is that I can use other rename utilities (like AdvancedRenamer, bulkrenamer a.s.o) to rename all those files at once or rather add a word to all of them at once while keeping the rest of the filename intact.

Is there a way to select multiple files without having to hold CTRL and clicking each one? I tried to click and drag/hold CTRL and drag but nothing worked. @tashiketh @delphy

EDIT: I figured it out but will not delete my post in case anyone else has a braindead moment like me.

On the dark blue sidebar you can click and drag.

Thanks for this! I really needed help finding orphans. I have a problem, though: I never got the Scan Wizard dialog. I don't believe the DDO actually knows where my Downloads folder is. All my scans have been less than a second, and yield no results. Is there a way to trigger the Scan Wizard?

In the top left try "File/Full-Rescan folder" also make sure that you set your game packs in "File/Program locations" otherwise it might tell you that recolors of maxis objects are orphans. Good luck!

Hi All!! i don't know if Delphy is still on here! But i just downloaded this software and i have a few questions....
1. In the instructions it says to not separate the files when downloading....everything was fine until the software crashed for a reason i can't explain. I wanted to uninstall and then reinstall, but there was no uninstall icon....so i deleted the folder and downloaded it a second time... however it downloaded the files separately in my downloads folder on my desktop and the main folder (MTS_Delphy..) is no longer there. I want to know what can happen if the files are separated but in the same folder, instead of being together in a subfolder?

2. There are a lot of items that I can't preview texture. None of the Unknown items are visible and there's no description so I relly don't know what they are...What should I do with them?

3. What exactly is a Broken Body Shop file? Am i supposed to delete this ? Is it a corrupted file?

Thans for your help!!

Hi K.Cass!

I was have same problems and I find some solutions. But these are not official. They are mostly what I find with obseesivly googeling.

1- Program has no Instillations. You have to create a "New Folder" on somewhere you can find easily. And put everything in *zip file to your new folder. Program needs this file in same folder to work.

2-Unknown files... Well it was very hard to find out what I should do with them to. So I put them in a newly created "Unknown Files" folder. And after that, I schan the "Unknown" folder with Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer. It didn't fix "everything" but it find some unknown files as diffrent file types. rest of them... well I just try to read their package names, and google the names. As I remember they are some game mods, like they can change the game core... I still keep them. But I have warn you; It take a lot of time.

3-Broken Body Shop file is some clothing or accessories, which you find on somewhere and downloaded with love. But their creators give you not the real downlod file. Ther are creators project file in body shop. Just delete them. They doesn't work and never will be.

I know It's a bit late reply but, I hope this will can help you a little bit. And I'm sorry for bad language.

Does anyone know if when you scan for duplicates, is it possible that the files are not actually duplicates because of the way the creator made them from other objects or something? Or would it ALWAYS be safe to remove items tagged as duplicates?
