this will only work in the base game? It's not compatible with the EPs?

This should work with any expansion pack, minimum requirement is the base bame only.

So, let me show you my small bit of fun with it, okay?

(Using Targas' Ascension stairs made it very easy setting up your hidden-loft.)

But my little bedroom-crypt idea took just a wee bit more work.

Its a nice starter house house for creepy elders but it really doesnt push that "Haunted House" Feeling onto you, Great try though
