This is brilliant and going to come in so handy! Thank you for sharing this.

holy god. this was so on my ToDo List. THANK YOU!

I don't think the door is that ugly, just the doorknob. I'd love to see a regular doorknob (globe) instead of the handle, and maybe bring the clothing rack down a couple of feet, kids would never be able to reach that and real closet bars aren't that high up either. Mirrored closets were a style that went out with the 80s, and it would be kinda disappointing if you couldn't also use it as a mirror. you would have those be sliding doors where one goes behind the other, right?

This is quite awesome. I like the clean, functional look of it, and I especially hate those huge bulky maxis wardrobes so this is lovely.

WinRAR is giving me an error message when I open it. Is there something wrong or am I the only one?

Thanks for the good ideas.

I like the idea of the round doorknob too. It took me so long to figure out how to use Milkshape, that by the time I got the door working I wasn't that interested in changing much from the value door that I cloned. Now I can go back and make those tweaks.

I agree that the mirrored doors are so 80s, but I did see someone asking for that in another thread at one point so I thought it might be another good challenge for me. Besides it might be fun if you've got a nice little retro theme going on.

Definitely doors that would slide one behind the other. Now that I sort of know what I'm doing, it might be a bit easier than I initially thought it would be. We'll see.

I hope someone else can answer this one. I'm not much of a WinRAR expert. I've downloaded this .rar file and it worked for me. Is it just this download, or have you had this problem with any other downloads from the site? If you've had problems with other downloads as well, I would check out the link in the little download box that says "Need help with downloading or installing content? Click this link!"

I love this! Its just what I've wanted! I'm fed up with making my own seriously crappy walk in wardrobes! This is awesome!

Great Work! I can't wait to see what you do next! Its all so exciting!

I often use the Marmy's closets, and I was missing too to have it in one tile. Many thanks to get that.
And a little suggestion, thought you are thinking in more recolors... why not a transparent or translucent door?

Hi,

This is heaven sent! I love that you made it like a door, but with dresser functions. That won't make it look weird, which is sometimes the case with Marmy's because they are the entire length of the wall. I do have a suggestion, if it's not too much to ask. Could you possibly use the slave technique with the textures? I have some really good recolors of that door from http://www.piggis-sims.net/ and it would be nice to have matching doors throughout the house.

Either way, thanks a bunch for this, I will be using it often!

You sold yourself short in your comments. A one tiled closet was definitely needed. Not all my Sims houses are rich enough or big enough to have a walk in closet. I've been wanting a small closet. Thanks!

Great item, it's going to be a favorite in my Sim's houses!
And I love the catalog description...

I'm working on some tweaks. I managed to figure out how to get the repository technique working, as per mstybl95's comment, so now when I do finish this version, the door will use the value door as it's master texture. Which means that any value door recolours will be pulled in as well.

Unfortunately I had to flip the door back around to have the handle on the left side, and now I'm having problems getting the door to open out. The rotation joint is driving me crazy! I can't figure out why the door opens into the closet. I'll keep at it.

I also lowered the clothes so that the kids might be able to get them. They would probably still need a stool, but there's no way I would ever figure out how to get the stool to appear for them to jump up on. That's a tad over-complicated for what this is anyway

I also have to redo my animations now that the door handle is on the left side. I think I was lucky the first time around, because this time they are giving me no end of problems.

Anyway, just an update on where I'm at. Didn't want you to think I had gone away.

I managed to solve the mystery of the door opening the wrong way. It was the door open animation - just had to reverse some values.

I still have a few tweaks before I'm going to be completely happy with this version. And I still have to re-test it for children, but I'm making progress. A few more days and it'll be a finished product. Then I can move on to my other projects.

I like your closet, I like the whole concept of it being in the wall. I don't know I just like it better that way. I use closets in my houses, mostly the two tiled kind, i am currently using marmy's closet and when I need the single tiled I use your closets, so I will be waiting for your two tiled closets, maybe then I will upload my long awaited houses that I have kept to myself for almost a year.
