Thank you for all the wonderful feedback, Alisar, whitesiren and Mimi. I do hope you enjoy it in the game. At this point I've lived with this project so much that I've lost any objectivity about it, and in fact I probably look at it more negatively than I need to.

Mimi, you will probably have fun discovering other trivia while playing. Some of these details are available in SimPE of course, but generally its a lot easier and more fun finding them out at runtime.

I remembered last night that I made extensive use of Inge's teleporters at Simlogical, otherwise I would never have had the time to meet all the various creatures normally - so I will need to add a credit for the teleporters in the main post.

As far as creatures that may have been missed, for example the FreeTime wild birds, I would appreciate any reports that come from the mirror's scan concerning them, and the exact text that is used to report on them. For example the FreeTime wild birds might show up as "Bird Template the Sim", and certainly would not show up as "Bird Template the Bird" because I do not have any detection code that accomodates them. I was never able to teleport the birds successfully and have not played FreeTime long enough (with a bird house on the lot?) to see them naturally.

This is awesome. I use it ingame all the time.

Quick question about one of the screenshots. It would appear to have Mata the Jaguar in it. Is it possible to adopt Mata?

Thank you Mackico.

Yes it would be wonderful to be able to adopt a Jaguar! But from what I have read online and experimented with in Castaway Stories it is impossible to do so. I simply teleported Mata into the native hut for the purpose of the screen shot.

How is it that you would teleport something there?

Just check out Inge's teleporters from the link in the Additional Credits section of the main post above. The teleporter that she has for Pets, a little cat statue, will teleport all Castaway animals, as well as all Sim people within the game.

Ah yes, these creatures are from Castaway Stories.
Not actually evil.

Not only a useful item, but awesome descriptive text too. I could see a whole story being centered on one of these mirrors and the dark secrets it reveals...

Thank you Cat!

Do the mirror's Check Sim and Check Self functions work under Apartment Life? For some odd reason they are not working for me after I installed Apartment Life.

I could kiss you I was desperate for such a mirror, I searched and searched but couldn't find one in the right size. This is going above the fireplace!

My download for the non-castaway version keeps coming up corrupted when I try to download. I've tried several times. I have all the expansions and stuff packs.

I suspect that the site was too busy at the time. The file is downloading fine right now.

All of the mirror's functions do in fact work with Apartment Life. I am currently working on an upgrade that will detect that EP's human statues, spectral cats, spectral servants, warlocks and wizards.

Alien & AL Upgrade: June 25, 2014
1) The mirrors are now capable of designating any Sim as a Quarter, Half, Three-Quarter or Full Alien - or removing alien status - using the new "Change Alien Status" menu option.

2) Mirror discernment now includes the Apartment Life human statues, spectral assistants, spectral cats, warlocks and witches (including alignment), as well as the Holiday Edition Father Time, Santa Klaus, and Toddler New Year.

3) The new "Find Sim..." and "Find Pet..." menu options can be used to locate any character on the lot without waiting for the current interaction to finish.

4) For more positive identification, the Sim selection menus now include the whole name rather only the first name. Similarily, the "Check Sim" or "Check Pet" descriptions also provide the full name.

5) If Apartment Life or Mansion & Garden is available, the mirrors are now height adjustable.

6) Numerous minor optimizations have been made.

Default Added Spirit Discernment - July 1, 2014
The mirrors now differentiate between a true Ghost (a dead Sim) and a Spirit (a live Sim with ghostly characteristics).

Yes, the aliens in Strangetown are quite inconsistent. It was bugging me no end when I was researching them.

You're welcome.
