Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Easy Call Multiphone, is a phone which provides multiple phone lines to your lot.

Originally in TS2, you can have only one phone line for your lot. So you cannot call several sims simultaneously. But this phone makes it possible.

For an example, it's possible that Darren calls Cassandra and Darren's son calls Pleasant's daughter simultaneously.

Easy Call.../Easy Call: Call sims you know. Sims will receive calls even at midnight.
Easy Call.../Power Call: Call any sim in the neighborhood.
Easy Call.../Power Invite: Sims will always accept invitation.
Easy Call.../Auto Call: Automatically choose a collee and make a call.

1. This phone isn't classified as a phone (to secure multi phone line feature). So it doesn't support some phone call menus like "Service". It's not a bug but intended, and I don't plan to add those phone call menus. If you need them, you can simply buy a Maxis phone additionally.
2. Because this phone isn't classified as a phone, you can not call a sim who only has a Easy Phone, using a Maxis phone. You can simply buy an Easy Phone and call him.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Just an update on the issue I reported a while ago - I think this phone was fine, it was Inge's one that was messing things up. It was an old creation and not keeping up with the EPs any more.

In a classic "duhhhhh" moment, I tried to have a Sim use the auto call feature, using the old version of the mod, and realized it didn't work. I had the Sim pick up the phone. He or she would get another Sim, get the "jump" interaction, then get ... nothing. And at one point, the Sim was trying to call a dog!

The embarrassing part is that I have up to only the Seasons expansion, which means this problem was probably going on at least since then. Probably earlier, after seeing that "talking dog" attempt! I bought Seasons early last YEAR. And for some reason, I never paid attention to the auto call feature not working. (In all honesty, I almost always play Sims with families or SOs, and go to community lots often, so my Sims usually often interact with other Sims and get their friend requirements that way. The Sim I was using in the first paragraph was one of my few "loner" Sims.) Talk about my being clueless!

Anyway, with this mod, my loners can get their quick friendship points; plus, there are a few extra benefits. Thanks for updating this mod!

EDIT ... I had originally posted a very long PS describing a problem after installing this mod. For some reason, on one lot, every time I entered it, the computer kept shutting off and restarting. Just the one lot! That was the strange part. I thought I had a hypothesis as to why, but the hypothesis proved to be false.

I have now come to conclusion that there is absolutely NO definite proof that this mod was responsible for this really bizarre occurrence. (It was bizarre because the computer often restarted several minutes into playing the lot ... in one case, a half-hour into playing it! Sometimes, though, it restarted immediately.) As a precaution, though, I've deleted the groups.cache file and the thumbnail. I moved the Sim into another house and demolished the lot. Sometimes, I find that occasionally, both Maxis and custom lots wind up glitched for the most stupid reasons!

In addition to these precautions, I also am checking to see if someone on this computer downloaded a program with an auto-update feature, or one that doesn't play nice with The Sims, since I know that those can freak out a computer while playing the game, as well.

I'm still testing this Sim, have done so a few times now, and am keeping my fingers crossed. But if anyone does run into any problems while replacing ANY new modded object, they might want to regenerate new groups.cache and object thumbnail files and delete and replace the object. I had a different problem with another modded object, was advised to do this, and this seemed to have fixed the problem.

Ever since I installed EP Mansion & Garden Stuff the phone became unusable. In buy mode I select it then put it on a wall or counter top and after a few seconds it disapears. If it was in a lot already when I go to that lot it is gone. Any help on this one, may need some sort of an update for the latest EP. Thanks.

This is great, thank you!

Little question: which files do I need to put in my download folder if I only want to use the wall phone? I assume the "PhoneWall" + "PhoneHandset" files, but do I also have to add the "PhoneCallSimCall" file? What is this one for?

Thanks.

Your Easy Call Multiphone could be easily called Power Phone, mate!

Thanks!

You need to download phonecallsimcall file too. ^^
That file contains the core of this phone. Without that, this phone doesn't work. ^^
'Wall phone' or 'handset' file is a sort of physical phone object file, and the 'call' file is the real important content of this multi phone. ^^

I don't think that this phone can make the computer reboot. I never experience such an issue in my game. A software bug may cause the game to crash and exit to the Windows shell, but that will hardly make the computer shutdown and restart. Maybe the computer has a faulty power, mainboard, RAM, or hardware conflict. I am 90% sure that rebooting is a result of hardware failure.
