Change of Rich value

When I started playing in Sims 3 I was annoyed that most of the Sims was considered rich and only a few Lots where less than 100.000 Simoleon, so I decided that I change the Lot Rich Value in the SimDescription to 200.000 Simoleon so it’s now only a few Sims that are counted in Sims 3 as rich.

Its means that you must have at last a Lot what is worth 200.000 Simoleon before you are considered rich in Sims 3!

I have now separated all package file and put a few new one there with higher value

Please Install only one of the package file!

Thanks for clearing that up. In that case it makes sense that you didnt make the 500k value as NPC sims are unlikely to ever reach that high and 150-175 would most likely be plenty, otherwise only the player will ever get the rich value, unless of course they build up a bunch of sims houses.

I thought id check it out today. The goths are at 180k and all the other large houses in town are barely over 200k. I suspect this might be very similar in most people's games, so setting it over 200k would make it so only the player will ever be classed as Rich, unless the player decides to manually play those other families.

So in otherwords, the 200k would probably leave the town with 3-4 rich people (including player), if they only play the one family. So that one suits me fine

Thanks for this Stefan and good point Anach, 200k would be my limit too.

Makes loads more sense now but it will take LOADS more time to make rich sims (if you are not an excessive motherlode-user)

I tried the 250 one and I still have too many rich Sims. I never use motherlode either (or kaching, for that matter.) All it takes is some selling of paintings, fish, novels, and you've got rich Sims before you know it. It's hard NOT to get rich in this game unless you have a family where no one ever fishes, gardens, collects anything, paints, or writes. I'm going to jump all the way to the 500 version and see what that does.

I installed the 500k- version to get rid of a town full of rich simmies - but it doesn't work for me. Neither the ones generated by the game nor my families get rid of the 'rich-status' though they are too 'poor' (e.g. 200k, lot value + cash, is already rich). What's wrong?
And jepp, I installed it into Gamelocation/Die Sims 3/Mods/Packages - where else?

Yes, I am serious though I'm not serious at all. I'm serious about this!

This is SUCH a brilliant mod!! The general consensus is right in my opinion, it was much harder to make money in TS2. My TS3 legacy is becoming too wealthy far too quickly so my 'Good' sims are handing it out left right and centre!!

Thanks again!!

I'm using the 175,000 and it doesn't seem to be working. Even tried 100k and 200k. The Alvi family still keeps being read as rich and I seriously doubt their lot is worth that much

Thank you. Man I can't tell you how annoying it was that the only gossip I ever got was everyone in the damn city was filthy rich. Thank you again. Now there is only one problem... You have given me choices, so many choices... oh no... which to choose... lol

Wow, it's beautiful outside. I should probably do something....

Like close the blinds on my window so there isn't a glare on my computer screen.

Thanks for this! It seems impossible to create even an average sized two-bedroom house without going over the default rich value, and it ruins the feel of the story if the game considers an average family to be rich.
