Could you verify that you have these versions (and that you have .Net 2.0 installed)
*S3PIWrapper: 1.3.2.5
*Assembly Generator: 1.4.0.1323

Also, at the location where you extracte the files: is there a 'log' folder with log files...if you do, the error maybe in those log files.

EDIT: I forgot about this post I made:

Try extracting DebugConsoleControl.dll from the Assembly Generator zip/7z file and overwrite the one in the folder: this should be the most common source for this error.

Hi, Digitalchaos

I have the log file or, 'logs' file from the TS3AG zip file; it doesn't have anything in it, and yes, both of the latest updates, not posted in your downloads section but on the info page, not to mention S3OC and S3PE.

I 'extracted here' directly into my downloads and all the PDBs and DLLs were there, not in individual folders - dunno if that's what I've screwed up!

And do you mean the 'logs' from the TS3AG folder? As S3PIW doesn't look like it has one. Although it does have the Debugconsolecontrol.dll file as well. So do you mean, overwrite one from one of your packages to the other, or vice versa e.g S3PIW -> TS3AG Debugconsolecontrol.dll?

Thanks

dwoon312:
  1. Extract "The Sims 3 - Assembly Generator.7z/zip" to a folder
  2. Extract "S3PIWrapper.7z/zip" and overwrite all files in this folder (this updates it for newer eps)
  3. Extract DebugConsoleControl.dll from "The Sims 3 - Assembly Generator.7z/zip" and overwrite the one in the folder

PS. Make sure that you extract this tool into it's own folder, preferably into some path in your documents folder, or another path that you have full-access to.

EDIT: if you right-click on DebugConsoleControl.dll (and click properties, once it is extracted), you can get the version of the dll from the dialog that is displayed via explorer.
The version should be: 1.0.4108.35123
and should NOT be: 1.0.4235.6032 (this is from S3PIWrapper 1.3.2.5)

I have updated S3PIWrapper to 1.3.2.6 the version for DebugConsoleControl has been fixed at version: 1.0.4108.35123.
Any tools, that use DebugConsoleControl & S3PIWrapper, can now have S3PIWrapper updated to the latest version without the application crashing at load.

Please Re-Download S3PIWrapper from the top of the main post : v1.3.2.6 and use it to update this tool.

I have done everything from stage 1-3, no issues in overwriting or anything. But in "PS" you state I should extract the tool to a new path, by which I guess you mean the application? I did just that and in fact removed all the files to documents as well (separately) and it still gave me "The Sims 3 - assembly generator has stopped working", I'm either putting exactly the wrong thing in the right place, or It's the computer, failing on many levels.

EDIT: Should I try what you said on the next post?

dwoon312: All files from both archives must be in the same folder
I.e.
1) Create folder xyz (in your documents folder, or another folder)
2) extract files from both archives, into folder xyz
3) Attempt to run the application again.

I also, assume, that you have the .Net 2.0 framwework installed.

PS. I have attached the complete listing of all of the files that should be the folder
Attached files:
File Type: zip  folder-listing.zip (1.8 KB, 18 downloads)
Description: Contains a .txt file listing all of the files that should be in one folder

Hi, Digitalchaos

I am 80% sure I have all the files listed. 20% I couldn't quite get through all the dates of.
Assuming by the grand scheme of things the 'The Sims 3 - Assembly Generator' was the newer of the two packaged folders, then I'm quite certain it's all up to date. I've checked and double checked the Debugcontrolconsole.DLL to make sure about the version, and it is what you mentioned.
And, of course, I got NET 2.0 framework ages ago when I began to download sims 3 mods, so that's never really been a problem.

This might be some horrible vista technical error and unless you have vista yourself, then it's not your fault

new release: v1.4.0.1327
based on S3PIWrapper 1.3.2.7
Adds support for Master Suite Stuff and ShowTime*

This update also ensures that the app targets x86 (incase anyone runs it on x64, it should not crash)

*Showtime launches March 6, 2012 ... I have added code to support it but it will need a slight update, on or after launch.

new release: v1.4.1.1327

When getting compiler executables use System.Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("SystemRoot") to get the path to the windows folder and then to the .Net Framework folder -- as suggested by: Iola2.
