Hi All,

What is this?

Welcome to the new tool. Clean Up Sims3packs Today! Also, raise dead. aka CUSTARD.

Also known as:
Clean Up Sims3packs - Totally Amazing Rubbish Detection (CUSTARD)
Clean Up Sims3packs Today And Revere Delphy (CUSTARD)
Clean up simspacks - totally automated rubbish detection (moar CUSTARD)
Clean up Sims3Packs today! Or die young.(CUSTODY)
Clean Up Sims3Packs Today! Advanced Research Division (Mmm birds eye...)
Clean Up Sims3Packs Today! Only MTS (CUSTOM)

(Thanks to Leesester, Davey and CN)

What does it do?

This tool is basically the "Clean" part of the old Sims2Pack Clean Installer that some of you may remember from TS2 days. It features the same functionality as the TS3 Dashboard, but works solely on Sims3Packs.

You can use it to basically "clean" your Sims3Packs, and also see if they have any corrupted packages inside.

NOTICE - Read this!

This tool is in ALPHA stage. This means that it might have bugs. This is NOT intended to be on general distribution and ONLY people who are willing to test the tool should be using it.

How do I use it?

Extract, open the tool. Open a Sims3Pack.
Uncheck stuff you don't want in the resulting file.
Save or Save As.

Note: You currently cannot right click a Sims3Pack and use Open With.

.NET Framework 2.0
Some Sims3Packs

- Fixed bug where selecting ANY package file to be disabled corrupted the XML of the saved Sims3Pack, thus making the entire Sims3Pack unusable.

Fixed some bugs, but it's been so long that I can't remember which ones. Probably something to do with clearing the list up properly or something....

Fixed the following bugs:
1) Didn't actually remove anything from the Sims3Pack, just removed it from the XML.
2) Had errors in the DimX, DimZ and sizes. (Reporting negative log sizes)
3) Had errors in the other metatags.
4) Was missing PackageId and Date.
5) Didn't correctly remove Lot thumbnails
6) Was missing lotName
7) Was missing EPFlags

1) Object description appears in Description column
2) Button to uncheck all thumbnails

Feedback wanted

I'm mostly interested in using this to load as many Sims3Packs as possible, of all types and sizes, and seeing what the resulting file looks like in terms of 1) Does it work 2) What the filesize is and 3) If anything is missing.

Please use the Debug menu to dump the Raw and Generated XML and then zip up and upload the resulting file, to help me out.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Omg this is the best! My game went from loading in over an hour to loading in 9 minutes! My game has never been this fast! Thank you a thousand times!
Turns out I have a couple of corrupted files and about a dozen of sims2package files. I was considering formatting my pc and reinstalling the game. I'm glad I did a little research first!
Thanks again ^^

Hi, Delphy!
Thank you for this wonderfull tool. I really appreciate, that it is able to read untouched Sims3Store packs too.
I'm using Custard for cleaning StoreSims3Packs from lot and headers of sets, eventually extracting with it individual Sims3Packs from sets, otherwise unavailable for individual download,

Sfortunatelly I was not able to clean with Custard
SurfingSet and I wasn't able to remove nothing from TinyProdigiesEarlyLearningCenterSET (I've attempted to get from it refrigeratorVenue_DOT08 unavailable for individual Download).
Those modified Sims3Packs are showing in Launcher as brown box with no option for install.
Where I've got that broken Sims3Pack, I've tested updated 1137490 version too, usually I'm using version 1180750 from 10th page of comments.

But I've obtained many individual Sims3Packs missing for individual download in Sims3Store and cleaned many sets from their headers and lots (I prefer to not install lots with Launcher).

1) Can you explain me, please, this phrase from @crinrict blog (part of Cleaning of Sims3Packs): "Now save (don’t use save as that does not work properly)". I've still used only "Save as". Will I run some problems?
(However I'm not able to reopen modified Sims3Packs, edited with no-one from both versions, "Saved" or "Saved as").
2) As I'm still using old 10th page version of Custard (this newer still don't reads english names of packages), will that broke newer Sims3Packs?
3) Why modified SurfingSet and TinyProdigiesEarlyLearningCenterSET aren't readable by Launcher?
4) Is there some possibility to change description of item shown in Downloads tab in launcher? (Extracted only one item is now shown in launcher with name of the set).

Sorry for disturbing you and thank you for tools, MTS and SimFileShare too.

Did you ever figure out how to open multiple packs at once?

I like this mod, I just wish you could uncheck MULTIPLE objects at once instead of having to do it individually.

Default I used this program, and it removed everything from my downloads folder
So, I used this program, opened up a Sims 3 Pack, and when I go back to my downloads folder to check on everything, all my downloads have been removed. Nowhere else on my computer. So I have to ask, what happened, and how do I get all my downloads back? Please, help.

Does anyone know if this tool can be used to fix sims who have a sub-type of "Hair"? Or a lot with a sub-type of Ferrari? If not this tool, then is there such a tool?

This tool is an absolute lifesaver! It's a must have in my Sims toolbox! I use it to scan .SimPack files that may have been packaged with additional content. After I was infected with "The hooker boot" download- Turns out "The hooker boots" were attached to a Sim I downloaded! I never would have been able to find it and delete it without this amazing tool! Thank you!!! <3 You're a Simsaver!!!

Can anyone PLEASE tell me where and how exatcly does the app/tool tell you which files are corruptes? All is see is a list of files and can't find where it says whether or not they're corrupted. It would be super useful if there were intructions about that!

Thanks. This tool helped me identify and remove bad CC that messed up my game. I had to uninstall and reinstall my game, worlds, EPs and stuff, but I got a clean game, no issues and I scan all items not purchased in the EA store with this tool before I install them.

Thanks a million

I built my previous computer 11 years ago pretty much just to play the Sims 3. It still works very well but, with Vista, it hasn't been supported for a long time and it was getting to where I couldn't access a lot of stuff on line. So, here I am with Windows 10 and, while there are a few features I'm coming around on, for the most part it just frustrates the living "heck" out of me. The current bee in my bonnet is not being able to click on a Sims3pack and have it open. I've been poking about online and poking about on my PC (with my new and very limited knowledge) and I seem to have hit on the problem as to why this no longer works on Wind10 as it had on earlier versions. It doesn't install to the PC. Win10 does give us the ability to look at the apps on the PC, and Custard isn't there because it's an executable file and not actually on the PC. The PC doesn't know it's here so it can't be assigned to file extensions. Now, I don't know if you've any interest in seeing if this can be updated in order to make it work for us poor slobs that have loved it forever and can barely live without it, or if you just don't want to give it a go, but I did want to add this tidbit because it doesn't really look like anyone has mentioned that this may be the key.

BTW, I saw that someone asked about the .Net 2 framework and if .4 is acceptable - didn't get a response - and I wonder the same as well since I have no idea if the .Net 2 installed (no message saying one way or the other and with Win10, I'm beginning to err on the side of "sorry, folks, we don't do that anymore"!

You must place the files into a folder then open the file within that folder called 'Sims3packcleaner' after you have it unpacked into either WinRAR or 7zip. You can not open the file through the rar unpacking programs (this was the mistake I made which you could probably be having too). Hope this helps.

Since I've recently started to try Sims3Packs (only one so far), I knew that it was time to start actually using this tool. Thanks for it!
