Wow, this is fantastic - although I have TS3 now, I still play with TS2 from time to time and these are definitely going in my neighbourhood there! Thank you!

I LOVE all these replacements coming out now. If only I had a medieval hood...

I basically just like to play uglacies.

Ooooooh . . . out go Royal servants, in come Commoners.
I'm using these in my regular hood for the fun of it since they are so beautiful.

OOooooooh! I like these, particularly the clerks and guards. Question, can you mix and match these with your other set? For example, if I wanted the royal maid but the common midwife could I use one from each set?

Yes you can mix and match the sets. Just be aware that all NPC replacements require two files - their main package (which states who/what they are) and the apparel file. You can dump all the apparel files from both sets into your main downloads folder or a special apparel folder if you have one. They aren't default and they won't conflict with one another. If you already have the listed meshes your playable characters can wear them too.

As for the NPC main file, you can only have one at a time. So just swap those out. Choose either Medieval_Maid (for the Royal appearance) or Commoner_Maid.

More NPCs coming soon for the later expansions...

Yay, ragged NPCs! Thank you! :D
And...sorry 'bout my nitpicky message in your last thread. Seeing the other set was made for royal servants (silly me completely forgot that), my comment was quite inappropriate.

oh, you're uber-awesome! I especially like the tax collector, he looks so tax collectorish! And you captured his evil laugh quite good in the pic with the gun.

Oh my goodness! FINALLY! Thanks for all of the work in getting permission to use meshes that I'm sure this took, not to mention assembling the packages!

Awesome job! It looks fantastic! Once I get around to building my medieval 'hood, I will install these over your other set; these seem more 'servanty'.

Absolutley love your set, thank you. This has been needed since forever.

Q) I am going through and separating the individuals files so that I can mix and match with your royal set and I have come across two files in the part 2 folder called Commoner_Grocer_Male and Commoner_Grocer_Female. As there are already files in there for the Clerks and Grocery Delivery I am stumped to which NPC they belong to.

shc: Any file that states Commoner (or Medieval for the Royal Servants) are the actual NPC replacement files (mesh). The other files are apparel textures and are listed as such. The Commoner_Grocer is the NPC replacement file for the Grocery Delivery character.

I'm having a problem with the female Commoner maid and the femail mail carrier skins. They show up with the commoner textures, but on the original meshes! I've got two files per NPC type in there, and I went ahead and got GR's mesh just in case that was the problem, but it doesn't fix the problem.

What did I do wrong?

Lerf1950: Id like to know which expansions/stuff packs you have, is your game patched and do you have custom content in your DL folder? You should have just these two files for your Maid: Commoner_Maid & Apparel_Maid, same for messenger.

A test for you is to remove your downloads folder from the main Sims2 folder (just put it on your desktop) and create a new empty dl folder. Add just the commoners folders and start the game. Visit the house where maid/mail chick are not showing up properly and observe. Afterwards, exit without saving and then delete your dl folder, put the old one back. Let me know what happens.

On a side note I have tested these NPCs in multiple games. I have more than one pc too. On one computer I have all the expansions (no stuff packs) and the game is patched. All the NPCs work fine. On the other computer the same exact situation, but the Maid showed up wearing a dance costume and not her maid outfit?! I took out the NPC files and no she just likes wearing that costume, its not my NPCs. So, now I guess I have to default that outfit too? This game is so chaotic sometimes.
