This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
This is a 5 level shelving system which includes 5 shelves and 4 upright panels. Each shelf has 5 slots. The upright panels have no slots. You can build shelves against walls or create free-standing shelves without using a cheat. Other items will still go under these shelves also. You can use different shelf levels (and corresponding upright panels) to make shelving units of all different kinds allowing placement of various sizes of clutter.

Each shelf and its corresponding upright panel has 3 recolorable channels. Only one upright panel is required to provide support for each shelf so the set includes 5 shelves and 4 panels (the bottom "shelf" sits on the floor and needs no support). When you place the upright in the game the left and right panel should both face the front...there is no need to turn one panel backward to make it meet up with the shelf correctly. The upright panel will also click into the middle of each shelf allowing you to split the box created by the shelf and panels.

UPDATED: I found that the shadows on the shelves and upright pieces are somewhat dark in my WA game especially when more than one shelf is placed since they seem to add up. I made a shadowless version and am sharing it for people who are having a similar issue with the shadows. The shadowless version has *no* has no floor shadows and casts no shadow on the walls either. It will overwrite the original version. Other than having no shadows these shelves and upright pieces are exactly like the others and are base-game compatible.

Each component costs $10 and is found in Surfaces/Miscellaneous.

The shelves look good with a variety of styles and are meant for the indoors. If you use them outside they need shade to make their shadow look completely right.

The individual shelves tile nicely and they also tile nicely when combined with their uprights:

Two shelves can be placed at the same level and they will also tile nicely as seen in the thumbnail picture below.

Due to the way that this game is designed tiling will not work for every pattern on every object. If you don't believe that check out EA's tiling This object is no different...but I can tell you your pattern will *not* be distorted.

Special thanks to Cmomoney who answered all the questions I had that were keeping me from making this set.

Thank you also to HugeLunatic, Ravenshadow, and Cmomoney for unlocking the secrets of slots in this game.

Polygon Counts:
Each shelf - 30 faces 40 vertices

Each upright panel - 30 faces 40 vertices

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

I'm not sure if anyone else is having problems, but the loading of the game hangs for me with your shelves in (obviously, in the Mod folder). I take them out, and everything's fine again. Anyone know of a conflict between these and another mod? I guess I'll try using the Indie Mod Diff to see what turns up even though that program is ancient now.

The packages for this set should be placed in your Mods/Packages's just a set of normal isn't a mod. They work fine in the two different games I've tested them in although I don't havve any global type mods in either of those games I don't think.

I know where they're to be placed. I just didn't want to type out the whole long process.

I don't know what the conflict is, because it's obviously a conflict if no one else is having issues except me. Hangs with them in, loads with them out. A mystery for another day, I guess. I really want these shelves, but I have a ton of mods to go through in order to find out where the conflict is. When I figure it out, I'll holler, unless someone beats me to it.

I would appreciate the holler...if it's something I can fix on my end I would very much like to do so. It's probably the case that, if you're having issues, someone else is too. Thanks for posting

Well, I'd have more figured out if I hadn't given myself a second degree burn while cooking the other night and had to be taken to the ER, lol, but I have narrowed it down a bit to what ISN'T causing the issue. The game loads just fine with both sets of shelves that you posted, my global and core mods, and sim3packs/S3Workshop items. I haven't narrowed it down to what package it is yet. It seems to be quite a few though. Will not load whatsoever (folders placed individually with the shelves and then taken out and replaced with the next folder of stuff) with my folder full patterns, my folder full of skins/hair/make-up, or my folder full of furniture/clothes/vehicles. So that will make this a little more time-consuming because apparently it's not just one file that's conflicting with these. I'll keep at it, but the process may take a bit longer than I initially thought.

Default German translation
first I would like to thank OM for her great work on this!
I added a german translation. Furthermore I overhauled the french and spanish ones (I only have rudimentary knowledge of both languages, sorry) as they seemed to be relicts from some source file.

I also have a request/proposal:
Could you please create uprights that don't all go from the bottom but like from one hight to the next? That way, one could create hanging shelves with sides.

Download - please read all instructions before downloading any files!

Hi BaXiM I answered you in the glass shelves thread about the translation and the hanging shelf uprights. Basically, I want to say the same thing Is it ok to add your translation or link to it? And hanging shelves will be a possibility with this set one way or another

Thank you for the translations
