This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.

This custom content if it is not clothing, may require a seperate download to work properly. This is available at Colour Enable Package (CEP) by Numenor.

Gold and copper recolors of the Trash-Tahk Trash Chute that came with Apartment Life. They look much better than the steel if you need to place the trash chute someplace besides the kitchen--like in a formal dining room or by the front door.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Default Oops! My original "steel" version is missing???
YAY!!! I was just about to attempt recoloring this! You saved me - and your metal looks fantastic!

EDIT: When I checked in game last night, I noticed I no longer have the original Maxis/steel option available. The thumbnail still shows the steel version - but I can only use your recolors. Can this be fixed?

Thank you for doing this!!!

Thanks so much for your feedback, Catherine. I'd love to fix it for you except I don't know how to or even why you're having an issue--I'm using the exact same package files and yet I have all of the options so I'm at a loss.

Maybe try downloading them again in case they somehow were corrupted and see if the original shows up for you?

I would love to hear from anyone else who's downloaded these whether or not all of the options show for them. Or if someone knows why the original color isn't showing up for Catherine that would be great too!

Poor counting on much more? I think that lost something in the translation...

@Catherine
Thanks for letting me know how it turns out. I hate that you're having a problem since you're one of the few people interested in this recolor.

Both recolours and the original all work for me, no problems at all. Hope this helps somehow

Who knows where thoughts come from....? They just appear.

While I've never used the trash chute before, I downloaded this because gold and silver will make my ritzier homes more classy. I get tired of trash compactors after a while. I'm off to build and try this out!

Default YAY! It works! ...sorta ;-D
OK - I rechecked it in game, and all colors DO work...

BUT, if I don't choose a recolor, and just place the steel one, then it is NOT recolorable with the swatch tool.

If I place one of the recolors first (not the steel) then it IS changeable with the swatch tool - but, I can't go back to steel unless I sell it and rebuy it.

It's really just a minor inconvenience - and well worth your beautiful recolors! But, I really wonder what's up wi' that?

If you find a way to fix it, please let me know. Thanks!

Ah, I see now. I'm pretty sure the reason that happens is because the original trash chute isn't recolorable. I think I'd need to clone the entire object in order to change it--which hardly seems worth the time or the bigger package size for so little.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond (everyone). It's always nice to hear that "real" people use this stuff instead of it just being downloaded because it's there and free. lol

No one's replied to this in a while but these don't show up in my game. Maybe I have something that is preventing them from showing up i guess. I thought it might be a sub folder problem but that's not it either.

Hi DGV
I've had that happen to me before (some cc showed up and some didn't even cc that used to work. So frustrating!). If I remember correctly re-installing CEP worked in my particular instance. But MTS has a great troubleshooting guide you can follow to figure out what's causing the problem in your game.

I know it's long but if you go through it step-by-step it almost always works. Here's the link and good luck!

Thanks for the tip reinstalling CEP made the recolors show up. I guess some where down the line the package got corrupted.
